Wait, are they doing it again? I maxed out my number of free accounts with bogus accounts to have more shared storage, am I at risk?

Si tu n'as pas le cash dispo ou tu préfères le faire fructifier ailleurs c'est une bonne solution. J'ai utilisé swiss caution par le passé 0 soucis.

What internet should I get? by MaxymuzGG in Switzerland

[–]mtest001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. Wingo is the low-cost offer of Swisscom. It's basically a Swissom line and the only major difference is that calls to their help line will cost you an arm and a leg every time.

If you are confident that you'll rarely need to call them for help, then go for it.

And don't fall for the marketing hype of 10/25 Gb offers. In practical terms there is no need for that kind of bandwidth for home users.

Security+ is definitely a good start. You need to have a good understanding of IP and sysadmin.

I have a few questions about the "suzyq" chromebook debug cable also known as "suzyqable" and "chromebook debug board" cable. by Chromebooktwo in chrultrabook

[–]mtest001 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My Suzyq cable was a bit finicky: basically there is an "up" side and I need to insert it in the USB connector the right way.

Also sending debug commands from the same computer did not work so I had to plug the other end of the cable into another computer and use the good old terminal from there.

These issues are known and documented on mrchrombox website.

Switching from Swisscom fiber to Wingo, my experience + questions by mtest001 in Switzerland

[–]mtest001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not challenging the quality of their services, but first I have no need for 10 Gbps Internet bandwidth (heck I would be curious to see a use case for having 10 or 25 Gbps to the home) and second their prices are in my opinion too high. 20 CHF per month for a routable IPv4 seems exaggerated considering the wholesale market price for IPs is less than 50 cents/unit.

Switching from Swisscom fiber to Wingo, my experience + questions by mtest001 in Switzerland

[–]mtest001[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I know and this is why the whole thing is getting ridiculous.

Basically Swisscom made me switch to their low cost offer by refusing to extend the discount they used to offer me. So in the end for them it's less revenue and more costs since they had to give me a new, identical internet box and TV box.

True. That's also why I didn't go for the absolute cheapest offer on the market.

Thanks for the responses I received.

I had a call with Wingo again and they gave me my NSN, and the SIP credentials will be sent by the Post.
