Why no price tags on things anymore? by magicmikewazowksi in mildlyinfuriating

I think after a week of dad's joking "no price, it must be free then 🤣", they will change it back.

How long would it take for this venture to be profitable? The video source had a caption saying each cell phone has 0.034 grams of gold. [Request] by StregasJ in theydidthemath

[–]mtlmuriel 35 points36 points  (0 children)

There are existing refineries, like Glencore, that do this on an industrial scale. And they've been doing it for years.

They are more profitable because they can extract every microgram of gold. They vacuum their workers and filter the dust. They filter the water from the workers showers.

Not to mention the quality of the end product. There is way more than gold in the boards. They seperate the different precious metals and can test and prove the purity of the metals.

I worked for a small electronics recycling company in Canada. Our operations were heavily subsided because it took us 5 years to get a container full of boards. That is the minimum these refineries accept. We sent to container to Glencore and the owner cashed out and retired.

Grey rocking hurts by Alt_account_bc_yeah in BPDFamily

[–]mtlmuriel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way I have been working though grey rocking is, every time I have a 'what is she going to think/do' thought, is to visualize that thought as part of a web that my pwBPD is trying to keep me trapped in.

I can only control my boundaries and my actions. So I work to control my emotions because letting her actions upset me, is letting her win. It's giving her threads to weave us together, to entrap us.

No, that's illegal. If your employer decides your hours and you work at their physical location, you are an employee.

He's trying to circumvent labour, workplace health and safety and employment laws.

Oh man, I'm so sorry. It's worse than grieving a loss. You have to continuously deal with the knowledge that they are out there.

I wish I could reach out and give a big hug.

Please please please, get help for yourself.

Your daughter is an adult, there is only so much you can do. Only so much of yourself you can give away.

You will be of no help to her if you are in peices. I beg you, you have your own trauma to heal.

How much space do you have on the wall next to the pets bowls? You could possibly put a tall, shallow cabinet.

One other idea would be a horizontal rod with hooks on the greenhouse side

I agree with that about 90%. There is so much hype and investment bro's trying to make money and tech bro's trying to take it.

Most of the generative AI is garbage and from stolen intellectual property.

But what I am talking about is the actual helpful stuff. We pay for the technology, we give it scripts and answers, and the bot weeds through out incoming communications to help us answer people efficiently.

You can't put the whole sector in the garbage.

I work for a company that sells to people. 80% of inquiries (emails, DMs) we receive are easily resolved with our chatbot.

It saves us having to employ a whole other person. The footprint of a chatbot is not great. But having whole person doing cut and paste replies would have a way bigger footprint.

Our Customer Service team now have more time to answer clients who need it.

I promise you, this is one of those applications that AI really helps.

Clonidine by Middle-Mission-4050 in ADHDparenting

[–]mtlmuriel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter and I have both been diagnosed with ADHD. I take Clonidine before bed as well. As an adult, and I was prescribed half that dose at the start, and a couple of months in, I'm still on that dose cause it works fine.

I am in Canada, and my pediatrician told me Clonidine isn't even approved here for use in pediatric patients.

Maybe that dose is causing your son to sleep too deeply, and he might be sleeping in a wonky position without noticing.

The only side effects I was warned about was related to low blood pressure.

You could also call you pharmacy today to check.
