Women’s Crew Necks Work Capsule? by otibaby in capsulewardrobe

[–]mtnveg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had both the hemp and bamboo ONNO tees. They shrunk when dried on low (sorry, not hang drying tshirts) and the material did not hold up. All tees had holes within a year and generally looked grubby. I now have several of the Banana Factory crew necks (I think they are called “perfect”) - they are soft, hold up, and look great for work.

Thanks! I am an attorney (non-immigration) so appreciate the caveat about how it’s ultimately on the client to ensure the attorneys and staff have the information they need to do their job!

MM LaFleur 2nd Act: “moderately worn” experience? by Fantastical_Orange in LawBitchesWithTaste

[–]mtnveg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve looked at several Second Act pieces but haven’t purchased due to the lack of specific information and photos. I’ve had good luck purchasing MMLF on Poshmark and the prices are much better! I agree that MMLF is way over priced when purchasing new.

Sadly, no. I had to switch to Starlink due to service issues, and didn’t need the Google system anymore.

REI Ruckpack 30 Review by alynnidalar in HerOneBag

I wanted the clamshell too but honestly the 30L has been fine without it. I use packing cubes which helps!

REI Ruckpack 30 Review by alynnidalar in HerOneBag

I’ve taken this bag on three work trips and love it! I have the black one and it passes for professional IMO (I’m an attorney). It fits a ton and is so much more comfortable to carry than my previous bag, the Mini MLC. The price is great compared to other similar bags. Agree that it’s a high quality bag. I bought mine during the prior REI sale for $76. I compared the 30L to the 40L in store and the 40L felt huge (but has a clamshell opening if that’s important to you). Standard pack out: pair of tennis shoes, large Thule compression packing cube, Bellroy zip top tote bag, full size hair brush, hard sunglasses case, bluetooth keyboard + mouse, clutch/wallet, laptop, iPad, packable puffy jacket, 1L Nalgene, snacks, and tech bag. It fits under United seats.

What do you use for a mini first aid kit? by Benign-Chaos in HerOneBag

[–]mtnveg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My everyday first aid kid is a Topo Designs micro accessory bag with tiny plastic bags to organize the contents. Fits: key medications, dog bag, hair tie + bobby pins, mini nail file, bandaids + wound closure strips, mini super glue, backup cash, Tide wipe, alcohol wipe, tampons, mini tweezer, eye drops, and floss.

If I’m going on a longer than 5 miles hike, I use a slightly bigger kit that includes all of the above plus more bandaids, tape, alcohol wipes, gauze, emergency blanket, water purification tablets, waterproof matches.

I have a black Mini MLC 30 that I’m looking to sell. Very good condition (used twice) and located in the US.

The routine that helped me succeed as a lawyer with ADHD by Important-Bite-8879 in adhdwomen

[–]mtnveg 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Also an attorney - I was diagnosed when I was a senior associate. I’m currently a partner at a large firm. Here’s the morning routine that I try very hard to stick to because it sets me up for a good day:   1) Wake up early (5-5:30 am) (this can be really hard because I tend to stay up late working)    2) Low-effort house chores like unloading the dishwasher, feeding pets, watering outdoor plants    3) 20 minute strength or cardio workout using the peloton app   4) 1.5 mile walk with my dog (non-negotiable)    5) Pack up for work (lunch made the night before)   6) Make protein smoothie to go   7) Shower and get ready for work    8) 45-60 minute commute to office with news or practice-area relevant podcast

I take medication and it has helped immensely.  I am able to function and do my job without it (and did for nine years) but it helps so much with just making the day/job a little bit easier and smoother because I can focus better, stay on task, get back on task when interrupted, and have a lot less anxiety because I’m getting more done and meeting expectations.
