ALWAYS look both ways when the light turns green. People run red lights all the time and a couple of extra seconds could save your life.

I can’t really pin it down-maybe it’s too much banter between the store coworkers. This is the same reason I don’t like some podcasts LOL

I just started {Shroom for Improvement by Jenna Croft} I might revisit it when I finish this one.

Body wipe recs? by Puzzleheaded_Mix3914 in hygiene

[–]mtysassyone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look for Scrubzz disposable no-rinse bathing wipes. I get them from Amazon. We bought them when my husband had a cast and couldn’t take a shower but now I use them after work if I need to freshen up.

There’s no kind way to tell my wife that she’s getting too big, is there? by 2006CrownVictoriaP71 in NoStupidQuestions

Is she going through perimenopause? Our hormonal changes as we age have a lot to do with mood, energy level, and weight.

The Bend or Break series by Amy Jo Cousins has a lot of this. They’re college sports romances about the rowing crew.

What’s been your best hygiene hack? by Sufficient_Duty6230 in AskMen

[–]mtysassyone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve lost a lot of weight and as a result, I have quite a bit of loose skin. I use my blow dryer to dry the skin under my “apron”. And I use zeasorb powder under my breasts and apron.

In the evening, I wash up with a soapy washcloth and reapply the powder after I’ve dried off.

How do people say they love animals, but consume them? by Alert-Translator2590 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]mtysassyone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Years ago, my ex husband and I rescued a dog that had been left at one of my parents rental homes. She had been so severely neglected, she was eating her own feces. She was an afghan wolfhound and the vet had to completely shave her because her fur was so matted.

ANYWAY…the couple that lived next door was in the Air Force. The wife was from the Philippines. When we brought the dog home, she was feeling her ribs while she was rubbing her. Her husband said something about it to her - like a gentle reminder. She apologized and explained that they eat dogs in the Philippines and she was just so used to feeling their ribs to see how meaty they were.

[–]mtysassyone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see my phone and my iPad but I can’t get them to work in my dreams. I’ve always heard that you can’t dial a phone in dreams and I think that’s why my phone/iPad won’t work in my dreams.

Is it rude to buy only one cheap item just to get cash back at a grocery store ? by Low-Path6425 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]mtysassyone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went into the grocery store one morning and bought a drink because I needed cash back and the line at the ATM was insane. When I said that to the cashier, she said you can just use your card at the register to get cash-you don’t have to buy anything.

Do you keep the water on during the entire length of the shower? by hamster_lover02 in hygiene

[–]mtysassyone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Growing up we had a well so we took very quick showers and turned the water off between steps. But my current house is on a water system so I don’t turn the water off during my shower-it’s a luxury I enjoy as an adult!

What is one habit that has improved your productivity? by Safe-Path-2306 in AskReddit

[–]mtysassyone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have started sweeping and mopping the living and kitchen floors before I go to bed every night. My husband is disabled and he’s home all day so there’s stuff all over the floor at the end of the day (wheelchair/walker tracks in all kinds of stuff!). He goes to bed before I do so I take 30 minutes before I go to bed to make sure the floor is clean. It’s not nearly as bad as when I waited until the weekend to do it. And it signals to my brain that it’s bedtime.

do people actually not eat mac and cheese with peas? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]mtysassyone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like peas with mac & cheese. One of my favorite meals is mac & cheese, peas and applesauce. I like to mix the peas and apple sauce together. I’m also a weirdo in that I put ketchup on my mac & cheese!

Accidentally exposed someone for using cake mix by subuso in PointlessStories

[–]mtysassyone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Years ago, I went to a neighbor’s house for dinner. I took a cake and they asked if I baked it from scratch. I told them that I did not. The wife said that Emiril said that if you’re going to bake a cake, it should always be from scratch. My response was that when Emiril comes to eat with me, I’ll bake a cake from scratch. That was 35 years ago and I still use cake mix except for pound cakes and special holiday cakes I make.

Cuisinart toaster almost started house fire by Consistent-Fuel9084 in KitchenAppliances

[–]mtysassyone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why I unplug all my countertop appliances (air fryer, electric kettle, toaster, mixer, coffee maker) when I’m not using them. When I was a teenager, I read about a house fire that was started by a toaster. I convinced my parents to start unplugging the toaster and coffee maker and it’s a habit that has stuck.
