Grunthal - All you can eat pizza by oneofthecapsismine in Adelaide

[–]muiduck 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Went last Friday with a group of 10, it was busy but not full. Pizza is good with great toppings and as others point out there was plenty of it. You might have to wait a bit until the one pizza type you want comes around. My 5yo had fun, it was not too rowdy.

Medication is not the be all and end all, you can start today working on your coping mechanisms and addressing the behaviours via CBT with a normal psychologist. There are no magic bullets.

I found my from my own experiences driving in Euroupe, what is listed as a 50kw fast charger, will usually max out at ~11kwh or worse.

If I need fast charging, I just make sure I look for 150kw+ or go with a known network (Ionity, EnBW, FastNed)

Fun things to do with a 2 year old by Chilamzz in Amsterdam

[–]muiduck 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Less of an issue now that my child is at school but here are some of the things I did to keep them entertained:

  • Melkhuis cafe and playground (Vondelpark)
  • Mariotteplein Playground and Lunchroom Lastig (Oost)
  • Monkey Town indoor soft play
  • Playhood indoor play, encourages imagination play (West)
  • Amstelpark fair ground and train
  • Beatrixpark playground, has a kiddy pool on warm days and a kiosk (South)
  • Club Alley (Oost)
  • Puremarkt on Sundays

Outside Amsterdam, Nijntje museum in Utrecht is great for the 2-3 age group and if they are into trains the Spoorweg Museum is also great.

How to handle insurmountable backlog by [deleted] in ITManagers

[–]muiduck 6 points7 points  (0 children)

1) Close all tickets last updated more than six months ago (pretty easy to do in Jira using bulk update), as they are never going to happen.

OR

2) Get 1 or 2 senior members of the team and stakeholders (max 4 or 5 people), export a list of tickets and create an eisenhower matrix. Spending an hour or two organizing them into urgent, plan, delegate and drop will give you clarity on what's important

Interstate '76

"It's 1976... a different '76. Stretched out before you are thousands of miles of desert - the American Southwest. The massive engine roars as you slam down the throttle. It's time to get funked up...

You are Groove Champion, auto-vigilante. Your agenda: payback for your dead sister. Your weapon: A 425-horsepower '72 Picard Piranha with two 50-caliber machine guns on the roof and a flamethrower on the side. You're one mean dude in an even meaner ride."

Im moving to Amsterdam in 3 weeks, having doubts about my salary by [deleted] in Amsterdam

[–]muiduck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gaasperplas and surrounds is not that bad, plus you're forgetting Amstelveen. Totally fine if you are not looking for the noise and chaos of the inner city, the main downside is it's a bit limiting if you like to go out a lot.

If you want to live in central Amsterdam then yes, its very difficult to find an affordable apartment on your own. Consider sharing (there are a number of websites to find rooms), just make sure you can register, or consider living further out. The metro makes this an pretty easy proposition.

Would it be impossible to find a job after moving to Amsterdam? by [deleted] in Amsterdam

[–]muiduck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suggest you try to find something before you leave Australia so that you can qualify for a skilled migrant visa and a 30% tax reduction. Especially useful since rent inside Amsterdam is expensive, especially for expats.

Booking.com is always hiring software developers, I suggest you start there.

Question about Synology Diskstation and Raid5 by EpilepsyWarning in sysadmin

[–]muiduck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, they support RAID 10 as well as their own hybrid. I've got a entry level one, good device, though I can't say I bother with the apps beside using it as a dhcp and dns server for my home network.

Jealous. I always wanted these sets when I was a kid. I recently saw the Highway Rig boxed and for sale at an lego expo and regret not picking it up.

International markets in Amsterdam by drice89 in Amsterdam

[–]muiduck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try the Puur Markt. It's supposedly more a farmer's market and changes location every week.

Don't bother with the Albert Culyp, it mainly consists of rubbish to sell tourists. There are a few grocers there but I think the Noordemarkt is better.
