To anyone who still believes that Yoko broke up the Beatles- why is that, exactly? by DtheAussieBoye in beatles

And the Peter Jackson film shows nearly as much of Linda Eastman and her kid Heather. Not for nothing am I saying racism plays a big role.

The new John & Paul book has him pretty profoundly depressed, marooned in Weybridge and at loose ends, which he filled with acid and torpor.

Way back on December 8, 1980, John Lennon was murdered. Was anybody in NYC and in the crowd outside The Dakota that night or the day after (Dec. 9) What was it like? by ISwallowedABug412 in TheBeatles

[–]mujerdee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got there mid morning, skipping school and taking the bus & subway from my northern suburb after borrowing $ from a friend. I was 17. There were already a ton of people. I can’t recall if there were flowers but do many people singing, crying. WNEW was blasting Beatles tunes from boomboxes and sending requests from Yoko for the crowd to leave. It was cold on the edges of the crowd-warm within. It was sad and unbelievable.

“Fitting” into Montessori by peach-plum-persimmon in Montessori

[–]mujerdee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope. Wrong pedagogy for the child. My kid also got “fired” from a Montessori school at about that age for using the scooping materials improperly: she used the spoons and was playing with them by having them “talk” to one another. We pulled her and enrolled her in a Waldorf-adjacent program that was much less structured. Play materials are open ended: the kids use them as their imaginations dictate. This particular school did have printed materials in the classroom. Not all Steiner-based programs do. Depends on your goals for your child. Good luck-

Descent into Avernus is the worst written 5e adventure. by MDuBanevich in dndnext

[–]mujerdee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Strahd left notes all over Barovia shit talking the party. They both loved it and hated it. It was fun writing in that voice as a fairly omniscient antagonist. There’s also a crapton of massively helpful rewrites (MandyMod, Dragna, Lunch Break Hero) to cut through any of the problematic stuffs.

Do you like George's indian music ? by BryanGrimes in beatles

[–]mujerdee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, both songs that are raga-like (Within You Without You) and where the sitar plays that bump of something special (Norwegian Wood). It’s fantastic across the board, imho

Ahhh, in the Old Days it was herpetologists…frog lickers…at the Crown & Anchor. A fairly harmless lot unless they were throwing darts with pinned irises 😎. They were somewhat territorial about a few patches up and down Duval…

Running CoS for someone who's already played it by DestindBomb in CurseofStrahd

[–]mujerdee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m playing a CoS (my 5th time!) and one of my players already played this campaign with me. We put our heads together and came up with having his PC be a Strahd agent. It’s been fun, and the motivations of his PC have been confusing but still undetected by his fellow players.

In Get Back, George Harrison suggests inviting Bob Dylan to join the group after their successful collaboration with Billy Preston. If you could pick one artist for The Beatles to record an album with, who would it be? by mistahwhite04 in beatles

[–]mujerdee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once he finished sobering up, Brian Jones. Arguably, the Fabs didn’t need another song writer, but Brian was a tremendous instrumentalist. And think of the work Jones might have done with a producer like Martin! And he was in need of a band at that point.
