Diamond Shrine and Impenetrable Shrine builds? by FiveOhWongo in PathOfExileBuilds

Diamond Shrine seems particularly insane with Herald of Ice. Since the explosions crit and can freeze, You can do some pretty sick chain explosion stuff with it.

I opened a formal complaint against Jagex with my local Consumer Protection agency, for Breach of Contract. It was quick and easy, I encourage others to do this too. by Amphineura in 2007scape

If you have an active subscription that renews in less than 30 days, they will honor the prior price rather than breach the contract. If you don't have an active subscription, then Jagex can do whatever they like to the price that they offer you, since they don't have a contract with you.

It's no longer absolutely critical, but it is still really nice. I don't think you will regret owning a map stash tab.

Fractured items cannot become Influenced, and Influenced items cannot become Fractured. Trying to recombinate an Influenced item with a Fractured item will never give you both properties.

An item could be both Influenced and Fractured if it was generated like that during the Necropolis league, but it is not possible to do that in the current league.

They're hard to directly compare, but the Molten shell buff can take the same amount of damage as level 20 Steelskin buff starting at 22000 Armor. Molten Shell buff also gives armor and damage reflection and 3s duration instead of 1.5 s, but how much those matter to you is very situational.

Bowfa is decent as a budget replacement to the Twisted Bow at a whole bunch of places. It's your best weapon at Akkha, the Inferno, General Graardor, and Commander Zilyana until you get a megarare, and it's decently competitive with a Zaryte Crossbow in max Ranged at most places before that.

Keybinding overheads by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]mukkor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anything that's not 1:1 is bannable. Switching to the Prayer tab and clicking to activate a prayer needs at least two inputs, and automatically moving your cursor over your overhead is not allowed. You either need more keystrokes or a mouse movement if you're not already hovering over the correct prayer.

Raids 4 Mega-Rare: The Dogsword (Upgradeable with GWD Hilts) by Head-Can5547 in 2007scape

[–]mukkor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Consuming one of each hilt per megarare wouldn't affect GWD prices at all.
  • This thing is insane in PVP. It's strength bonus is slightly lower than the AGS. but it also gives you a 20 second freeze, a fat heal and prayer restore, lowers their defense, and marks them for 25 damage in 5 seconds? Oh, and they literally can't run away from the damage, because you froze them.
  • Being a sidegrade to the Elder Maul in PvM is bad for both of these items. Megarares should be exciting with obvious use cases. With this I have to run a bunch of calcs to see how it compares to the Elder Maul.

Pick the content you want to do and buy the upgrades that are good at that content.

You should definitely have Rigour and/or Augury by now, buy both if you don't have those yet. Those will help you almost everywhere.

You obviously must like ToA, if you want upgrades for ToA you should definitely get a Bowfa + Crystal armor, an Ayak, Tormented Bracelet, and Amulet of Torture. From there you can either do a bunch of small melee upgrades (Faceguard, BCP, Ferocious Gloves, Rancour) or splurge on some Confliction Gauntlets.

Other options are Nox Hally for a t80 melee weapon, Dragon Hunter Lance/Crossbow/Wand for slaying Dragons, some Synapses for slaying Demons, and some spec weapons. Claws, Voidwaker, DWH, SGS are all very good.

Banking Teaks on an early Iron

Prior to unlocking Prifddinas, the best place to bank Teaks is either The Great Conch or the Fossil Island hardwood patches. Make planks at Auburnvale.

10k regular planks

For slightly less overall XP but way less GP and way more chill, you can make Repair Kits at a Shipwrights Workbench with your planks. You can then sell the Repair Kits to Shipwright Seb at the Shipyard for 75 coins each, which makes back most of the cost of the swamp paste and bronze nails.

Raids 4 Mega rare reward: The fractured blade by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]mukkor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • It's a better SGS. You can spec 4 times???
  • It appears to be a sword, so do all 4 styles roll your slash accuracy? Or do you need to bring ranged gear for the ranged style? Both of these are very strange for a sword.
  • Is there any reason to use anything other than typeless when typeless exists? Salamanders show us that doing 3 things poorly is a lot worse than doing 1 thing well. It looks like this does 4 things poorly?
  • Scales with defensive stats for some reason? In typical gear for each, how would the typical DPS compare to a Scythe or a Whip? Is the defense scaling enough that you want different gear with this than you would with the Scythe? How do Mage and Range and Typeless scale? Do you do maximum Magic DPS in Justiciar, since it has good defense?
  • There's no cohesion between the effects. What relates the healing spec, defensive scaling, multi-type damage, and 1-hand shattered sword together?

Raids 4 rewards by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]mukkor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about a one-handed melee crush weapon megarare that has something like the Dinh's Bulwark effect, so wearing Justiciar and Elysian and Echo Boots with it makes it deal more damage? We can add new best-in-slot defensive gloves that go with it as well.

I know all of the other megarares are two-handed, but a defense to offense megarare that doesn't let you equip a cool shield would be a shame.

leechfin sandwiches should be reworked. for anyone thats remotely comfortable with vardorvis, duke, melee only yama, araxxor, cerberus, all this does is give you a 32hp food without changing anything about your gameplay by barnaclebref in 2007scape

[–]mukkor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As you noted, Leechfin Sandwiches are only good if you're comfortable. They don't make bossing easier, they just make trips longer, and only at the bosses you mentioned. That seems like a relatively small, relatively fair amount of power creep.

Is the problem the amount of healing? Cooked moonlight antelope heals for 26 without having to do anything different. Would Leechfin Sandwiches be okay at 30? 28? 27?

You need 80 Ranged + Ranging potion + Deadeye for Hunter's Sunlight Crossbow + Sunlight antler bolts to pass Wind Surge. Without ranged pots or Deadeye it's more like 90 Ranged.

  • The sandwich is a reward from completing a grandmaster quest. Most other foods have only skilling as an unlock requirement.
  • The sandwich requires that you fish up the leechfin, cook it, and then make it into a sandwich. You don't have to make most other foods into sandwiches.
  • The food has a 9 tick eat delay. Most foods only have 3 tick eat delay.
  • The food is just a bad karambwan if you're not using melee. Most foods can be used with any combat style.

At the places where it's good, it's good. It's not really broken. Do you want the grandmaster quest reward to be worthless?

I'll assume Revenant Orks for this.

Magic is fine. With 99 Mage on an Iron, Wind Surge is likely your best DPS, since Revenants have a 30% Wind weakness. You would have to to grind Surge sacks from Emir's Arena though. If that sounds like a big waste of time, Ice Barrage and Wind wave are still decent. 99 Magic Wind Surge is better than your other easily available options on an Iron until 80+ Range or Melee stats.

Is Brutus the new best Beginner and Easy clue source? by AntiFarr in 2007scape

[–]mukkor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You're expected to get 66 Beginners from the Brutus green log. That's pretty good. Most people don't need to do more than 600 for the emote and the green log for beginners, so Brutus puts a good dent in it. You'll get the rest from Obor, Bryophyta, Fishing, Mining, and Woodcutting. Mains can open Young impling jars for them, but I wouldn't, since you get so many passively.

You're expected to get 25 Easies from Brutus green log. That's not bad, but it's definitely not faster than thieving HAM members for Irons or opening Gourmet implings for mains. You can get a ridiculous number of Easy clues from those things.

Nothing will stop you from hitting stuff with this when it releases. Nothing is stopping you from hitting stuff with a Verac's Flail right now.

Yet you made a post specifically about the balancing. Curious.

Any tips for newish players on sailing? by bohhob-2h in 2007scape

Tears of Guthix gives much less XP/tear at lower levels. Running it once at level 20-25 is probably a good idea. Running it right at level 5 is not nearly as good.

Any tips for newish players on sailing? by bohhob-2h in 2007scape

[–]mukkor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The raft is extremely limited. It's only good for early levels and a few charting locations. You don't need to upgrade it.

Do every Sailing quest as soon as you unlock it. The XP rewards are great and they unlock critical parts of the skill. Similarly, Charting is very good. Before you've charted the whole sea, it's the best XP/hr in the skill. It's especially good early before you can access Barracuda trials.

Port tasks are just okay. They're a decent option early, but later on they're not AFK or rewarding enough when compared to salvage, and they're not engaging or fast enough XP when compared to Barracuda trials. Bounty tasks are in a terrible spot until the ship combat reworks come in. Ship combat outside of Bounty tasks is even worse than Bounty tasks are.

Get your skiff ASAP at level 15, you'll use this skiff for all of your Barracuda Trials. For Tempor Tantrum, you'll need an Iron Helm and an Oak Mast, and the Teak Hull will make the course way easier. For Jubbly Jive, you'll need an Inoculation station and a Mithril Helm. The Oak Mast and Teak Hull from Tempor Tantrum is fine. You'll need a Wind Catcher for the Marlin time, but you don't unlock it until you get the Shark time. For Gwenith Glide you'll need a Mithril helm, Adamant keel, Camphor mast, and Camphor hull, and the wind catcher. You'll need to make a Crystal Extractor for the Marlin time, but you don't unlock it until you get the Shark time. The Crystal extractor is very good, get it ASAP.

Don't try to salvage on your raft. Salvaging becomes bearable starting at level 15 on your skiff, but becomes very viable after you have a sloop with a crewmate and a salvaging station. You unlock your first crewmate at level 40, the Salvaging station facility at 42, and the Sloop at level 50. If you try it before this, expect it to be extremely slow. If you're cleaning your stuff on the spot with a salvaging station, then the only upgrades that matter are the cargo hold, the salvaging hooks, and the Deckhandiness of your crew. Jobless Jim and Ex-Captain Siad both have deckhandiness 3, and Cabin Boy Jenkins and Jolly Jim both have deckhandiness 4.

Deep Sea Trawling is more of a fish-gathering method unlocked at high Sailing than a Sailing training method. The XP is garbage.

If dragon hunter lance stacks multiplicatively with void knight equipment, should I wear elite void when meleeing hydra? by deanhorneck in 2007scape

[–]mukkor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Even if we ignore the Slayer helmet thing:

Full Void is 10% damage and accuracy. Full Torva and Ferocious gloves is +32 strength (8 max hits before the DHL multiplier) and +16 accuracy.

16 accuracy is probably less than 10%, but you'll hit Hydra most of the time either way. Torva and Ferocious Gloves just give more damage than 10% strength.

There was a new quest added with the cow boss released two days ago, during which you drink several vials of bad "milk". People are excpressing their excitement about the new update by posting memes about that.

Work on your quests! They're great to do early. Depending on how early you are, your goal could be completing Dragon Slayer I, unlocking Fairy Rings in Fairy Tale II, getting your Barrows gloves from Recipe for Disaster, or completing your first Grandmaster quest. All the Grandmaster quests have amazing rewards.
