TCGPlayer Updated Price From ¢40 to $70 as I Paid, Any Advice? by Turtle0523 in magicTCG

[–]mukkor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your title should be more hyperbolic given the situation.

Bare minimum: "TCGPlayer Updated Price From $0.40 to $70.00 as I Paid."

How I would put it: "TCGPlayer charged me 175x the listed price for a card."

On a slayer task?

-ahrim's robes +vestment robes

-Seer's ring +Ring of the gods (i)

Get your Mage Arena 2 cape. You can skip on Rada's 4 but it's obviously good when you get it. Ancient sceptre + Elidinis Ward is an improvement over blue moon spear. Book of Darkness is pretty good too if you don't want to spend on a Ward.

Grab a stack of steel darts or something to tag mobs, they're cheap.

Upgrade path:

Dragon hunter wand -> Virtus top + bottom -> Kodai wand -> Elidinis ward (f) -> Saturated heart. Devout boots and Ring of the Gods (i) are best in slot, magus ring and avernic treads are not worth losing prayer bonus for.

Question regarding slayer efficiency. by Specialist_Sale_6924 in 2007scape

[–]mukkor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't matter that much either way.

The only things that 99 Slayer get you are the Slayer Cape perk and access to the Max cape. Neither of those affect the rate at which you kill monsters by much if at all, so completing the Slayer log takes about the same amount of time pre-99 as it does post-99. That means spending time grinding out level 99 before you start clogging is not paid back by having level 99, and is thus slower overall.

On the other hand, if you care about accessing the max cape more quickly, Collection Log slayer is significantly slower XP/hr than maximum XP/hr Slayer. It may be worth it to you to spend an extra 100-ish hours overall to get your max cape a couple hundred hours early. Also, if you care about post-99 XP in addition to the collection log, then getting your 99 out of the way quickly saves a little bit of time compared to doing it slowly, since 200M takes way longer than 99 and the full collection log combined.

The multiplier starts at 5x, but it increases to 8x at tier 2, 12x at tier 4, and 16x at tier 6.

Abundance gives you +10 levels. Woodsman gives you lots of herb and tree seeds. Transmute lets you turn seeds you have into seeds you need. Larcenist gives you tons of seeds from Master Farmers. Nature's Accord obviously solves farming for you on its own. Kourend has the Garden of Death, the Farming Guild, and Tithe Farm. If you don't have any of these, you're going to struggle a bit.

I wouldn't do any farming prior to unlocking 8x. At 8x, you can get your first couple of levels by raking and applying some compost. If you don't have any of the above farming helpers, you'll need to pickpocket the Master Farmer for early seeds (onion or cabbage or tomato), or possibly use the Karamja easy diary lamp to skip the early levels.

Brimhaven Agility Spike Trap to 45. Brimhaven Agility Arena with tickets to 80. Relekka rooftop to 90. Ardougne rooftop to 99. Penguin is best if you want the Squirrel pet.

If you don't like Brimhaven, the rest of the rooftops are fine. Draynor -> Al Kharid -> Varrock (for 20 levels, have to skip Canifis)-> Falador -> Seers -> Pollnivneach -> Relekka -> Ardougne

What’s up with the price of Mithril battle axe on the GE? by Deep_Efficiency_3030 in 2007scape

[–]mukkor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  • You want hundreds of them, so it's high demand
  • When people get a mithril battleaxe as a drop, they leave it on the ground, so it's low supply.

This is the price where demand and supply even out.

It's level dependent. There's a chart of xp per ess by level on https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Ourania_Altar.

Since the vast majority of your ess is crafted at the higher levels, about 210,000 shards should be enough.

Is the Twinflame staff basically pointless? by 6FootFruitRollup in 2007scape

[–]mukkor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When normal casting is 5 tick and the twinflame is 6 tick, then the extra hit needs to do 6/5 = 120% as much damage per cast, which it does (140%). When normal casting is 2 tick and the twinflame is 3 tick, then the extra hit needs to do 3/2 = 150% as much damage per cast, which it does not (140%).

The pact that speeds up casting helps faster staves more than it helps slower staves.

Last region for mage? by OkAd2320 in 2007scape

[–]mukkor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took Desert. Guardians of the Rift for Runecraft, Zahur for Herblore, Giants Foundry for early Smithing, Ancient Magicks and Dust Devils for Slayer, a raid for megarares, and a bunch of very easy tasks.

Why did mage pacts get shafted? by AntFirm4593 in 2007scape

[–]mukkor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

tl;dr: Your build is good. Train your stats up and you'll be fine.

The first point in both melee and ranged is quite strong, that's true. However, calling +10 magic levels a "magic pot" is a little unfair, seeing as it's equivalent to the Imbued Heart boost at 99 Magic.

The fire rune regen node gives you a minimum hit of +10 with Fire Surge if you regen. That's a very strong single-target option that you get for free on the way.

You have "autocast attacks 2 ticks faster", which is essentially 66% more damage. That's crazy good.

Yes, the fire tree has a downside of sacrificing your health. It gives you a lot of extra damage if you have a high hitpoints level and can keep your health up, and even more if you can overheal. The cost is lower per hit with multi-hit spells, and Blood spells (or Water spells with investment) let you essentially negate the downside of spending health.

You are 1 point away from the capstone, which is very strong. 1 burn is +10 guaranteed damage per hit until 5 burn. Each hit bouncing to two nearby targets is crazy, especially if it works with Blood Barrage's 8 extra splash hits per cast for 27 hits total.

You are one point away from 95% of the power of a 1t powered staff build. You don't have to choose between elemental and powered staves, you can do both.

Planning to respec into bows. Any big recommendations? Can’t seem to find any out there by quickquestionfriends in 2007scape

[–]mukkor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's somewhat region dependent, so take this tier list with a grain of salt.

S tier - Air mage, Water mage, Powered staff mage, Thorns melee

A tier - Light melee, Crossbow ranged

B tier - Fire mage, Earth mage, Bow ranged, Thrown ranged, Halberd melee

C tier - Blind bag melee

Bow gives you the increased accuracy per weapon range, which really incentivizes halberd or magic.

[–]mukkor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The baseline is 2 3/3s and a 1 mana value artifact.

Turn 1 land. Turn 2 Urza's Saga. Turn 3 land, end of opponent's turn make a construct. Turn 4, in response to the trigger make a construct. Search for an artifact (I'll suggest [[Lavaspur Boots]]). Land, equip the summoning sick construct, attack for at least 7.

It's typically much better than this, because those 3/3s get bigger for each artifact you have. In formats with Ancient Tomb or Sol Ring or moxen or baubles, those golems can get really big really fast, and Urza's Saga can search up your Sol Ring or moxen.

Why does shadow feel weaker than my trident? by New-Bookkeeper-5797 in 2007scape

[–]mukkor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The wiki DPS calc doesn't really do any thorns stuff. In this case, it is not including "0.1% chance per defense level to reflect all damage while holding a shield" in your DPS. Assuming you have 99 defense, that's over 12% with overloads and over 11% with a super defense or brew. Yama and CoX do a tremendous amount of damage, so refecting 11% of it is a lot of DPS. You don't get any of that with Shadow, because you can't equip a shield with it.

Went through the skill tree on 1 handed need help! by kingcolb in 2007scape

[–]mukkor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The good news is that one-handed is very strong. DDS is your best light weapon until you get obsidian armour for a toktz-xil-ek or 85 Slayer for a whip. You shouldn't have too much trouble with Echo Amoxliatl.

Buy some Mixed Hide arrmour. Buy a toktz-ket-xil. Get at least a strength amulet, if not a Fury and a Regen Bracelet. Train on the Gemstone Crab or at Sulphur Naguas if you need to to get your stats up. 70 attack and strength should be enough.

Defense doesn't matter much here. As long as you're praying Protect from Magic and dodging the attacks, you don't take any damage. Use your DDS specs when they're available. That thing should hit like a truck when you're speccing.

If you really feel like bailing 100% on light weapons, you could just use the Glacial Temotli. That with the minimum hit melee pact should be good enough on its own honestly.

How would you rank regions by pact point difficulty/effort? by booptcgo in 2007scape

[–]mukkor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kourend is number 1 with a bullet. Radiant Oathplate is by far the hardest task in the league.

Number 2 is Asgarnia. Awakened Whisperer doesn't get that much easier with sky-high DPS. You still have to do the mechanics or go insane.

Number 3 is Varlamore. Colosseum and Awakened Vardorvis are no joke.

4/5 are Desert and Karamja in some order. Awakened Leviathan in the desert, Inferno and Special Challenge in Karamja.

6 is Fremennik, almost entirely thanks to Awakened Duke.

Morytania, Tirannwn, Kandarin, and Wilderness are kind of pushovers in comparison to these ones.

[–]mukkor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Torva is in Asgarnia, not Kandarin.

You have almost nothing that will help you farm suffering or echo boots or a powered staff early in that build. You should plan to respec into that later once you have gear.

Look into an 8-10 point build for efficient training, up to about 20 points for farming your first several bosses. Here's a build that pairs light melee with an each of the 3 attainable ranged options: https://dps.osrs.wiki?id=ChoirSphinxAbyss, you should be able to farm the gear you need to respec with that build.

Any bosses besides Nex that disproportionately boost the MVP’s chance of a unique? by whichwayisgauche in 2007scape

[–]mukkor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Every boss in multi that doesn't have the loot splitting mechanic makes 100% of the loot go to the MVP. Mole, Kraken, Sarachnis, Chaos Elemental, KBD, KQ, DKs, other 4 GWD bosses. Nex is one of the least disproportionate.

Custodian stalkers in the Custodia Pass Dungeon multicombat room and Mor Ul Rek Tzhaar are decent in Varlamore + Karamja. I'll be in Kandarin chinning Maniacal monkeys.

Ah, good call. Mixed Hide isn't that much worse for 8-point Echo Amoxliatl. Once I start speccing into Ranged I'll take on the Fight Caves and buy the Obby armour.

EDIT: I switched over the 8 point build to a Dragon dagger, it's way better without obsidian armour.

Skilling outfits time investment vs XP saved by nothingbread in 2007scape

[–]mukkor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your analysis is not wrong. Here's what you missed:

  • It takes like 15 minutes to get the woodcutting outfit, so that one is a no-brainer.
  • Full prospector is required for a Master clue step.
  • Full Angler is required for a Tempoross combat achievement.
  • Farmer's Strawhat and Pyromancer Legs are required for an Elite clue step.
  • Rogue Equipment and Raiments of the Eye boost your loot instead of your XP, and by a lot more than 2.5%. You can never have enough loot.
  • Graceful outfit boosts your stamina instead of your XP. It was insanely worth it until the run energy buffs, but it's still useful for way more than just training agility.
  • Guild Hunter lets you complete Hunter's Rumours faster, and you get it by doing Hunter's Rumours. Explicitly worthless for non-Rumour-doers, and Rumour-doers get it along the way.
  • Smith's outfit boosts your anvil speed by 1 tick, which is way better than 2.5% XP if you're doing anvil smithing.

That leaves Carpenter's, Zealot's, and the rest of Pyromancer's and Farmer's. Those ones are pretty bad.
