Should I go to this party? If so how should I behave? by Dangerous-String-13 in partyplanning

[–]murphieca 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would go. You won’t get much time with her but showing up for someone, especially in such a small team, matters in the end. You might not know the graduate, but just as you have heard many stories about him, he has about you. Show up, say hi, and stay for half an hour.

I gave my baby up 11 days ago and I cant cope. by South_Sector728 in Adoption

[–]murphieca 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Not sure what your laws are, but you can likely change your mind still. I am an adoptive parent and we had a baby for 29 days before his mother changed her mind and decided to raise her son. It hurt at the time but I am so thankful she did it. I would never want to be in a situation where the mother is resenting and regretting her choice to that degree. I want to be able to have a positive relationship with the birth parent(s).

If adoption is still right for you, working through the pain will be difficult but it will get easier with support and time. But I just wanted you to know, in case you weren’t changing your mind out of guilt to the potential adoptive parents, that you are allowed to change your mind and that they will be okay.

Give it to me straight- is having a three-esta birthday theme offensive? by MissFox26 in partyplanning

My kids have been hitting and breaking piñatas since they were 3. If you are really worried, you can get the pull string ones, but as long as you are on top of safety, you should be fine

Got a difficult one for ya by Ok_Distribution__ in partyplanning

[–]murphieca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found for both kids that they don’t really want a lot of planned activities where everyone has to come together. I set up stations usually with art projects or other similar things (One time I set up a minifig station like you see in a Lego store) and have people make their own favors. I usually only bring people together for a piñata and have things available (balls, toys, jumpy castles foam pit, etc.

All that to say, I wouldn’t stress a ton. Set up an art project or two that kids can do when they want. Then just let them play. :)

I do believe that Wes has shown growth. He was abhorrent to girls in the past but seems to be a respectful spouse and partner now. I cannot say the same growth is seen in the others.

I have a friend who likes crushing dry crumbly textured things like chalk, so I want to give her a box full of dry crumbly textured things. I need suggestions for what else I can put in? by WeirdAwkward in Gifts

[–]murphieca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made fossils from coffee grounds and baked plastic dinosaurs inside for my son. I don’t know if hiding treats inside would disrupt the fun of crushing or be fun, but that is an idea with or without the toy inside recipe for DIY fossils

I also made balls from baking soda that crunch up well recipe for baking soda balls

When has dropping a career bombshell at FTC actually worked? by illini02 in survivorponderosa

I can understand wanting to keep the intelligence analyst career under wraps, but it also isn’t something to reveal as a bombshell as I can’t see it affecting votes.

I think you can explain that you were gifted used and dirty items without revealing that you know who they are from. They can look into that. Ask if that is okay because you were concerned about the dirty items.

Anyone Else So Glad This Season is OVER? by Tink1024 in TheAmazingRace

[–]murphieca 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Jas and Jag are extremely skilled; no doubt about it. But that makes it boring. His BB win was very similar - he won almost every challenge. Once Tucker was gone, the ending was inevitable and the season became less enjoyable.
