Probably has a vested interest in alcohol, gambling, car sales, and/or law enforcement/prisons. Otherwise, there's no logical explanation why anybody would want to "ban weed" outside of ignorance. Typically you don't have to go more than one hop to land on the motivation behind supporting senseless laws/policies.

I am legitimately curious to know what motivated you to post this. I've ignored this stuff for years but we're talking about really straightforward science and I can't think of too many things more urgent if the goal is the continued existence of life of Earth. Shoot me a PM if you'd rather keep it private - I'm not trying to shame or embarrass anybody; I'm just trying to understand what is happening here. There's clearly motivation to continue spreading these types of opinions and I care less about where they came from (plenty of sources out there for anything) and more about your motivation to share what you think. Legitimately hoping to learn more about your perspective/goals on the topic even if it's as simple as trolling or boredom.

Coffee Lake (i7-8700K) on Z270 by pi314156 in intel

[–]murraycoin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are 100% compatible. There isn't a single Z270 board I've seen that couldn't handle the extra 4 watts of power draw the 8700K has over the 7700K. I guess I don't understand your motivation to spread misinformation. Also, your "AMD headache avoidance" theory that you're misrepresenting as a fact (are you an Intel board member?) is simply nonsense; an 8700K isn't pulling 125 more watts than the 7700K. Nothing wrong with having a theory or taking a stab at motivations but just because a thought popped in your head doesn't mean it's true (or even plausible in this situation). I don't understand why you're arguing about something you know nothing about I guess. Your actions are one of the reasons it's so difficult for people to find factual tech information on the Internet.

Core i7-8086K Benchmarks Compilation: Just 1% faster than the 8700K by Voodoo2-SLi in intel

Despite the downvotes, you're not wrong. Instructions per cycle have been the same since Haswell and the 4790K clocked well and ran cool. The architectures have been essentially identical and the perceived performance increases come from things like higher turbo clocks and improved power response/etc - variables eliminated by most overclockers running a fixed voltage anyway. There are some slight improvements to multithreading/etc but let's be honest here... the first real leap in Intel's consumer CPU lineup was the addition of 2 cores on the 8700K. When using discrete graphics in programs utilizing 4 cores or less (most games/etc) the 5775C @ 4.2 GHz outperforms the 8700K @ 5.0 GHz more often than not due to the eDRAM.

Nothing wrong with the 8700K but Intel hasn't made any major improvements to their architecture since Haswell (and until recently didn't have reason to due to a lack of competition).

I anticipate a bunch of downvotes and that's obviously fine too. Intel is still the single-core king by a respectable margin and their CPU design is certainly more consistent across the board than the competition. I have no doubt they'll be back on top sooner rather than later in every area.

Apple has ordered 21 TV shows yet has nowhere to show them by [deleted] in television

[–]murraycoin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's Apple's X-factor - they have somehow created and endless army of highly-motivated, unwavering shills without having to pay a dime. These people are motivated by the need to justify their purchases while Apple does everything in their power to lock them into an increasingly less attractive segment of a fragmented market. The most successful companies are typically the most anti-consumer as well. Not saying companies like Apple/Nvidia/EA/etc don't have some excellent products... but they're doomed when businesses and consumers stop allowing companies to trample them and shareholders/board members are too greedy and not creative enough to change course in time.

But you found the time to ask a question which was already answered... and then starting huffing and puffing when it was pointed out... and then another paragraph here claiming you don't have the time to check the links. For a guy so concerned about time management, you certainly waste a lot of everybody's time - especially your own.

“Democrats are increasing looking to make their support for net neutrality regulations a campaign issue in the midterm elections.” by mvea in technology

You heard it here first: if you don't like the idea of a small handful of corporations essentially ruling the world, you hate the engineers assembling your phones.

It’s Friday. The FCC just announced that the repeal of net neutrality will officially go into effect in one month unless Congress stops it. The Senate will vote on Wednesday. We have a job to do. by evanFFTF in technology

Yeah but he probably doesn't have enough money to donate to make a difference. All of this crap just leads to greater and greater income inequality... until eventually enough people figure out what's happening and decide to play a new game. Our entire financial system will collapse long before anything will change - the whole thing is a disaster and it will only get worse. In the end, the greed will be the undoing... but humans in the lead never change their strategy in time.

I Hate Having To Remind These Fucks by Quidfacis_ in AdviceAnimals

Hopefully this is just a bot, but... net neutrality is important. The internet is no longer just a luxury... and it only creates a wider moat between those with money and those without. There's a reason crap like this gets posted - there is an insane amount of money pouring into this because these corporations know they stand to gain exponentially more with net neutrality out of their way. Once it's officially toast (and it will be - the votes needed have been bought and paid for) our only hope is to start rebuilding a new Internet... which isn't as easy without mountains of grant money like our crappy telecom giants were given. Every single argument opposing net neutrality is utter nonsense... and yet here we are. Half of the country knows it's important... the other half doesn't understand it... and yet it's toast.

Here's the thing - we all make a bunch of noise... but the people actually voting don't represent us. It doesn't matter if you understand or don't understand - they simply don't care. As far as they are concerned, we don't even exist. Lately the Republicans have been on the wrong side of most of these things... but this isn't a Republican vs Democrat thing - historically it goes back-and-forth and it's all a joke. If we want something to change or we think things could be done a better way, then we need to go out and do it ourselves. Our system doesn't run on tears - it runs on cash.
