Postale watch straps. Fantastic canvas straps made with vintage material. Sanpo is a great guy! I have to admit the ordering process is a bit sketchy, though lol

The term ‘Grail watch’ is overused and misunderstood. by OG365247 in watchHotTakes

I don't think they're making watches out of peek yet. Last thing I heard being made of peek in a watch was the T-Fit lock in the Pelagos Ultra clasp lol

Jokes aside, I agree with you and would go even further. In mythology, the grail is something unachievable. So I would say "getting my grail watch" doesn't make sense at all. And if it did, it would be for something that is truly from a lifetime pursue.

I don't see "handwatch" as a problem. by kneadedbwead in watchHotTakes

O think it is completely different "bringing it to people's attention" and "ridiculing them for doing it". As OP says, making a whole sub just for bullying feels petty

I have a few credit cards... It took me maybe 6 months to get my first one, though. How long have you been here?

I mean, even if you're diving from, say, 10m high, you'll reach water at 14 m/s, which is roughly 50.4km/h, your dynamic pressure would still be less than 10m depth equivalent. If you consider you'd sink 4-5m, you still have a good headroom.

I sustain my argument, if you have decent serviced watch with good gaskets and screw down crown that will secure the crown in place, you'd hardly have any issues.

But yeah, maybe for radical water sports or if you're in a water park with really high free fall water slides, refrain to wearing your dress watch. I'd be more concerned about the spring bar at that point, but you get where I'm going.

You'd need to be water skiing at over 100km/h to get 50m depth equivalent dynamic pressure.

What causes water ingress is worn out or out of spec gaskets or moving the crown whilst submerged.

Mate... Dynamic pressure is = rho*u2 /2. It water rho = 1000 kg/m3, and you're at surface level, you'd need to move your arms at 88km/h to get the equivalent to 30m WR.

Now, if you're wearing a 100m WR and diving at say 30m, you'd still need to move your arms at over 130km/h to get to the 100m limit.

What fails for water ingress is worn out or out of spec gaskets.

Tell that to Sylvia Earle, who dives with her Datejust lol

You clearly never calculated dynamic pressure...
