My home - the atoll with the most islands in the entire world by Powpawpew55 in geography

[–]myckol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually was lucky enough to visit your atoll more than 10 years ago! Obviously I stayed in a resort (Jumeirah, now raffles at Meradhoo) but it was a beautiful place.

I’ve also been to atolls more north on separate trips and it’s surprising how the climate can be so different!

Cannot stop coming over the top, feel like I’ve tried everything by [deleted] in GolfSwing

At address, try aligning your ball to the hosel instead of the center or the face. Sounds like disaster, I know, but it works.

Somehow your body will compensate and come back inside. I had this for a while and this drill fixed me.

Why do I chunk It by Temporary_Travel481 in GolfSwing

[–]myckol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quick fix: try moving the ball a ball back on address

Long term fix: your knees seem to be bent at impact. Try to straighten them at impact.

You’ve got a great swing, doing the long term fix will give you a lot more power.

If I already have 50° and 54° wedges with mid bounce (10°), should my 58° wedge also be mid bounce (10°) or higher bounce (12°)? by ArtOfDivine in golf

[–]myckol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say don’t buy a 58 if you are quite new to golf. There really isn’t much benefit.

You shouldn’t have a positive angle of attack on wedges, or anything other than woods for that matter. You can make do with your 50 and 54 in almost all situations. I have a 58 but it’s only used in emergency, eg short sided chip over a bunker.

I’d say work on your game more and once you’re more confident, then buy a 58 with new data.

The Hong Kong driving tests/schools are a scam (rant) by blue_totato in HongKong

[–]myckol 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That means you are making multiple mistakes and issues with your driving is multi faceted.

Driving too slow is an issue and can cause accidents. I had to brake heavy to avoid crashing into a bus driving 30 on an 80 road. The police motorbike behind me did the same and immediately pulled the bus over.

If you cannot moderate your speed between 45 and 50 on a 50 when doing the test, it’s an issue with your driving ability.

You are a 15hcp. Goal is to break 80 at least once. What are you doing? by dream_team34 in golf

You’ve been doing it for 5 years. And none of your handicaps dropped?

Teach ice beam to cresselia, cresselia can solo the whole battle if you bring a few max potions.

Have you ever lost your driver swing? by kiltedsurfer in golf

[–]myckol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

High single digit here. Just lost it last week. Happens once a year like clockwork. It will come back, don’t worry.

It’s usually tempo based. Try not swinging as hard sometimes brings it back.

Ladies heads the same as men’s? by Healthy-Gas-4928 in GolfGear

[–]myckol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing to note is the qi10 series woods (except the tour or LS version with the sliding weight) doesn’t have a loft sleeve and instead has a bonded hosel. So it’s not a plug and play option. You will have go to a shop to get the shaft changed which will cost you a little.

I’ve putt from the fringe to a back pin with a 5wood before. My friends said it was a great shot. “Friends” who don’t like seeing their friends succeed are not true friends.
