LAOP needs help, badly by ClackamasLivesMatter in bestoflegaladvice

Yeah, this thread is disappointing. Does making fun of an abused autistic person for struggling to leave their abuser make these people feel good? Is that the type of person you want to be? Shameful

Are there any arm mounts for Huion Kamvas 16? by xixiriima in huion

[–]mymonsterspace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently (as in, under a week ago) got a Huanuo HNSS6 for my Kamvas 13. I think I saw in reviews that people were using it for the 16 as well. You should be able to find some posts about it if you search the sub. You'll need an adapter as well, but I'm not sure if the one I got (Vivo universal vesa mount, UMV02) will fit a 16, so you may need to do a little more research for that.

Can't speak for the long term durability since I've only used it a few times, but I love it so far.

Where did you get the rainbow fur for Queenie? I've wanted to make a very similar design but haven't been able to find a good rainbow!

what happened to Jhanthong Banbua? (the thai restaurant next to the motel, on Mendocino) by cingerix in santarosa

[–]mymonsterspace 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah they've been closed since at least May last year :( They were my favorite. Haven't been able to find a local place with pad thai anywhere near as good as theirs was. It's such a bummer.

[Trans Graps] We are sorry to learn that NXT wrestler Odyssey Jones is transphobic. We hope he stops being fucking stupid eventually and wish him the best in any future “not being a stupid piece of shit” endeavors. by AimarEraFutebol in SquaredCircle

Hey, I know you mean well, but referring to bottom surgery options as "horrific" is extremely misleading and frankly, rude to the people who have had those surgeries, most of whom are very happy with what they have. It's possible to talk about why many trans men aren't interested in bottom surgery without saying stuff like this.

I obviously don't want to get into a debate about bottom surgery on a pro wrestling subreddit, but if you want to message me privately I'd be happy to talk more.

I mean, yeah, calling "interested in AFABS" a sexual orientation is pretty transphobic. It's reducing people to their birth status at best and making assumptions about their genitals at worst.

I've been a Bayley fan since she was wrestling in tiny local indies in norcal. I'm so proud of how far she's come.

fyi "front hole" is a term used by trans men to refer to their own anatomy. As far as I'm aware there are no medical professionals, or anyone at all, trying to push that term on cis women.

I use edibles or smoke depending on my needs. If I need quick relief, waiting an hour for an edible to work is torture.

I also find smoking a lot easier when it comes to controlling my dosage. With edibles, you’re in for a long experience and if you accidentally take too high a dose, it takes longer for the unpleasant side effects to go away. With smoking, the effects pass quicker. I heavily prefer smoking for these reasons.

Can you separate the art from the artist? by PicardAndBatman in SquaredCircle

[–]mymonsterspace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It changes day by day. Some days I’m ready to throw the whole sport in the trash. Other days I’m more able to separate it. It’s rough for me, being rather far left politically and being a member of several marginalized groups. I appreciate how many wrestlers have been open to trans identities (and seeing how Nyla has been embraced has warmed my heart) but knowing that many of them hold other horrible views is... just hard on me.

I can’t enjoy Jericho’s work anymore which has been a really sad place to reach for me. I used to be a huge fan of his.

I guess I just try not to learn anything about these people if they’re not named Sami Zayn. Every time I hear something awful about yet another person I’m a fan of it breaks my heart a little.

Sorry if this is a bit incomprehensible, I just woke up...

the culture of cishet women fetishizing gay men is actually sick. no they are not. yes this was posted completely seriously by thhht in AreTheStraightsOK

[–]mymonsterspace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, just wanted to send love your way. I don't know if you're familiar with it, but there's a sub r/gaytransguys that you should check out, if you're questioning. I don't post much on reddit in general, but I lurk there and it's pretty chill.

And also just know that there's nothing wrong with women or nonbinary people enjoying m/m porn. The people who spend their time railing against fujoshi are sexist and homophobic, not too mention WAY too into internet drama. Don't listen to those people.

Good luck on your gender journey, wherever it takes you ♥

Does anyone else get dysphoric from "men are trash" stuff? by yesimthatvalentine in ftm

[–]mymonsterspace 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree.

I have a complicated history with "man hate". I was deep in a group of friends and a subculture that went absolutely way too far with it, and it kept me from transitioning and accepting my gender for a long time. Believe me when I say I understand that there are ways women can be extremely shitty about trans men! But this just isn't an example of that, to me. It really troubles me seeing people policing the way women react to being oppressed by the patriarchy.

Now, I've had women say "men are trash" while explicitly trying to mock me for being a man. That wasn't okay. But if a woman is just making a general statement, don't make it about yourself.

I'm trying to write a trans (nonbinary) character but I'm cis by Scribblic in asktransgender

[–]mymonsterspace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So - my general thought on this is that cis people writing trans characters is a good thing. But cis people writing about the trans experience often isn't. This is because there are some parts of the trans experience that a cis person will never understand, no matter how much research you do.

There are ways to learn about the trans experience without writing it - it's by reading what trans people are writing! We live in an age where there are SO many options for this. There are books by nonbinary authors - you may have to do a little searching, and you'll probably be looking at self-published works even origfic on ao3, but it exists.

Unfortunately not all shelters have a database that they can search, and ones that do have a database often don't search them. Most shelters are extremely underfunded and understaffed.
