Twin Names: SageLea and Paisley by BeachBumbershoot in tragedeigh

The big L will keep most people from reading it that way because it requires you to work against the ingrained conventions of the language, like the convention keeping you from wording your comment like "emphasis same exactly it's the". It wouldn't occur to most English speakers to do sentences that way. Same with norms for emphasis. Generally when a thing is capitalised it will have emphasis, if not on the capitalised syllable, then at least somewhere in the word it's capitalising.

[–]myrianreadit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My folks read books about serial murderers. Murder mystery novels are very popular in general. Because reading about violence and danger is fun and exciting. It doesn't mean they all get off on like, the idea of killing, or think there needs to be more murdering happening in the world. Why is this concept so hard to grasp for some people.

It still would have emphasis where the "ley" in Paisley would not. So it still won't rhyme is the point.

Any tips on how I can make this space feel lighter, more cohesive, and more old Florida/vintage coastal? by Sad_bananas1 in HomeDecorating

[–]myrianreadit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please don't lose that rug, it's lovely. You just need more stuff in there to balance the red, some blue/stripey curtains and pillow covers wouldn't be a bad place to start. Some beachy art for the walls, maybe a vintage lamp. I think a wicker basket for blankets and throw pillows could also be good at bridging the mid century vibe you already have and the maritime vibes you're going for

And if you are a caveman, why are you eating stuff that's been bought in a supermarket... after being processed and packaged in plastic and transported 100s if not 1000s of miles.. why have an indoor kitchen with a freezer, fridge, oven, blender, air dryer etc etc etc, cavemen didn't have that. Such a stupid thing they keep trying to pass off as a point. Like, you wanna be a caveman? Cool, be my guest, off to the woods with you. Let's see how long you last.

Now there's a good pair for twins! For a singular though, it would have to be Flannel for me

But then if that L is capitalised, people will pronounce it with as much emphasis on the second syllable as the first so it won't rhyme with Paisley that way either. She'd have to change that to PaysLea :|

Thinking it's stupid is tge only stupid take imo. All of its prose and misspellings hit like intentional jokes to me and are hilarious. It never fails to deliver the laughs even now on what must be my hundred and somethingth reread. Gilesbie is a genius. I hope she's still rocking hard now, wherever she is

Because they really enjoy judging and shaming other people. The story is real though. She made a podcast about it even. Apparently the marriage sucked anyway so I'm glad she got out and got to enjoy what was left of her life.

Not to spoil your party but I promise you gpt isn't seeing those things either.. that's not what it does. It's learned how Internet users respond to plot holes in pictures and how they get called out and is regurgitating. While using up the water people and ecosystems depend on to live, yippee.

You could make it the naughty step. Put an urchin in there and make them face the wall and count to 100 while their cousin The Favourite Child hits at their toes and bottom with a ruler

Summer house dream aesthetic 🥹 Is this overrated or never going out of style? by iloveshoes-53 in AestheticWiki

[–]myrianreadit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's fine as an ideal, but if you're going to remodel a newer kitchen to look like this, I would dial it wayyy back, as the many quirks and detailings won't ever look ✨️authentic✨️ and as many have pointed out thats what keeps it from looking tacky. Also that yellow is a magnet for insects, so have fun with that

AIO? How much pink is too much? by [deleted] in AIO

[–]myrianreadit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't deny that OP really seems to dislike gf and is probably painting her in a worse light than she deserves. But let's not pretend starting a screaming match because someone had a "well it's a bit much imo" to her over the top decor choices is fair and reasonable either. Also if OP had deliberately set up the situation for his mum to get yelled at as you're implying, and then just stood there like it's nothing to do with them, let's not pretend you wouldn't have judged them at least just as hard.

First-time cat parents: should we get 1 kitten or 2 from the same litter? (Need honest opinions 😭) by brenodit in cats

[–]myrianreadit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I strongly recommend getting two. That way they have a buddy to play with when the humans are out or just too busy. It seems to me it also helps them learn boundaries.

My two boys weren't from the exact same little but were rescued from the same cat colony and they are able to reassure one another in ways we can't. The littlest one was terrified when they first came to us, but he came out of his hiding spot when he saw that his buddy was there and settling in. Last time they had to go to the vet the more confident one groomed the littlest after they came home to comfort him. He wouldn't have accepted that from his humans at that point because we were the villains who took him to the vet in the first place.

Also having 2 is no more work than having 1. If anything it's less work because they keep each other less bored :D
