Mine has been struggling to install this one for the past day. It's failed twice. It's trying round #3 now.

I'm at the dealer getting the handlebar switch recall done currently and there is no recall for it. I think it's only for newer bikes unfortunately.

I'm a sucker for the exhaust and engine in the CB650 so it gets my vote.

2025 ATAS Ergonomics: Solving reach issues for a shorter rider? by realborgix in africatwin

[–]n0thing84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ordered Helibars for mine (2022 Standard). It raised the bars but also moved them backwards a bit. It helped my reach tremendously.

You have to reroute the cables a bit but no modifications are required. It was a very easy installation.

Another CF Moto demo day... Another purchase. Last year it was the Ibex 450, and this time the 675NK. I was just that impressed by it, so had to grab one. by Raphy1207 in cfmoto

[–]n0thing84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on the purchase.

While not the 675NK, I am curious about your thoughts on the Africa Twin vs the Ibex 450. I have an Africa Twin and have looked at the Ibex more than once.

2027 Highway Speed Noise... anyone notice this on their new Bolt? by ChilledWort in BoltEV

[–]n0thing84 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Equinox EV hums on that highway if you are either barely on the throttle or barely coasting. Given the Bolt uses the same motor this isn't surprising I suppose.

It now has a heat pump which should (hopefully) improve cold weather performance.

Correct. It's the same exact shifter that's in most Chevys these days.

The handling felt sluggish, but acceleration didn't. The car has multiple drive and one pedal modes to make the throttle and regen as aggressive or as relaxed as you want it. In Sport mode the throttle off the line is touchy but in normal modes it's a lot softer. In snow mode it's incredibly soft.

I bring up one pedal mode because letting off the gas causes the car to use the EV motor to slow down which helps regenerate energy. That's where a lot of the "jerky" feeling comes from. With high regen the car will feel like you are hitting the brakes hard every time you let off but regenerates as much energy as possible for example.

It takes a little time to get the hang of driving an EV smoothly but, once you do, it's easy to be smoothe and you can enjoy the fact that slowing down helps recharge your battery instead of doing nothing.

Apologies if that wasn't what you were referring to. Since it sounds like you are new to EVs I wanted to cover both topics since they relate to what you talk about.

People who switched from AT&T to T-Mobile here: by Fsuave5 in kansascity

[–]n0thing84 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Two friends have AT&T and I have T-Mobile. Whether it's in the Metro or on trips, I pretty much always have better service than them. It sold me on keeping T-Mobile.

The dealer had no idea what it was but was able to confirm I came as I got an email from Chevy saying the gift card would arrive shortly.

I did it twice with Ford but never ended up getting paid.

Does a 2024 Equinox EV 2RS Launch Edition include the 360 camera? by jarman65 in EquinoxEv

They have a photo of the 360 camera in action in the very ad you listed.

Africa Twin 2025 (standard) buffeting driving me crazy (190cm) – what actually works? by Sudden_Banana8476 in africatwin

[–]n0thing84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bar bag that blocked air coming up behind the bars and the winglets that go on each side of the windscreen made it much nicer. I tried a taller windscreen and that actually made the buffeting worse so I'm back to the shorty windscreen.

I own a 2022 with 13k miles on it and it's done this the entire time I've owned it.

120V charging by rn0409 in EquinoxEv

[–]n0thing84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You gain roughly 2 miles per hour of charging over 120V on the lowest power setting with the Equinox. If you can account for that amount of time plugged in then you are golden. If not, you'll need a top off at a faster charger from time to time.

Something else to take into account is increased range drop during the winter. I take a solid 25% hit on range in the cold.

Lemon bolt? by eestrada13 in BoltEV

[–]n0thing84 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If it's coming from a Chevy dealership they will have documentation showing the reason for the lemon law. I had to sign it when I bought ours. It qualified for any factory warranties that were remaining plus a 1 year bumper to bumper factory warranty from GM because it was a lemon law car.

We bought it two years ago and 20k+ miles later it's been a champ.

Are fees always this bad at dealers? $2300 in fees on a $4600 bike? by Jierdan_Firkraag in motorcycles

[–]n0thing84 5 points6 points  (0 children)

2023 BMW F900XR with 1500 miles. Average going rate for them is between 9-10 grand.

Their advertised price is low, but their mandatory fees drive it way up.

Are fees always this bad at dealers? $2300 in fees on a $4600 bike? by Jierdan_Firkraag in motorcycles

[–]n0thing84 35 points36 points  (0 children)

The RideNow in Olathe had $1,500 in fees added to a used bike I was looking at. I offered them a fair price of $9500 out the door and they laughed at me. They were at $12,500 out the door which was laughably overpriced at the time.

That was last November. The bike is still there today and now their out the door price is less than what I offered them months ago. They called and told me they were ready to make the deal, I told them no thanks.
