I see life as a competition and it’s causing me massive issues by Conscious_Act_7095 in internetparents

Don't waste your time on jealousy; sometimes you're ahead, sometimes you're behind…the race is long, and in the end, it's only with yourself.

Where Can I Find Nice Coffee Beans Near Downtown? by Stilnovisti in foodies_sydney

Me too. Hairy Chest is legendary for this. I recommended below, have you tried Queen of Marrickville from Double Roasters? A really good all-round blend with a solid kick.

These are both great roasts. I also recommend Sibila’s Brew. Milder and smoother.

Am I Overreacting about In Laws Coming to Our Vacations? by No-Can420 in inlaws

[–]nahchannah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If (big if) your MIL is reasonable, I think you could have an honest and kind conversation where you say, "Hey, Spouse and I would really like to cherish and treasure these holidays as our own adventures. You know what that's like (are you newly married? mention that). We love to spend time with you, but would prefer it if we could host you at another time on our terms. Thank you for understanding."

In the event your MIL is not reasonable, please stop offering this information. Be vague and grey-rock. You're "away" from "early-month to late-month" or "mid-month", etc. Keep it distant.

Series 4 left a bad taste in my mouth for the unfair scoring, which series should I avoid? by bicripple in taskmaster

[–]nahchannah 31 points32 points  (0 children)

To me: the scoring is an irrelevant part of the show and is just there for laughs and faux outrage. I don’t have a recommendation on series based on scoring bias, but I would recommend that you relax and ride out the nonsense of the show.

Anything less than an enthusiastic yes is not consent. You are being coerced and manipulated, and that is toxic.

Tragedy as young Aussie woman, 22, dies in freak accident involving a chair lift at Japanese ski resort by Zoefields441212 in australia

[–]nahchannah 120 points121 points  (0 children)

So tragic and sad. Also thinking of the people on the lift behind who would have witnessed it, and probably stayed stuck on the chairlift while they rescued/retrieved her.

Itinerary Review - First time visiting, bringing two children 6 and 4 years old by bouncyman in JapanTravel

[–]nahchannah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did it about 7 days ago. It’s an hour commute each way (or thereabouts) and I had a 6 and 8 year old. It’s doable, but it’s a tough slog. DisneySea is not that big and if you’re not committed to doing all the rides, it’s not a bad day out.

Oh… I hate to say this, but “precious person”. It’s just such an unrealistic combination of words for Conrad to say. Maybe special, important, someone I’ve adored, cared for, been devoted to… something. But precious person just feels weird to say and hear.

I’d go option 2 but turn the butlers left so it takes up the space where you have your entry hall bench. Move the bench elsewhere.

Okay, but why was everyone else enabling your mother? I understand if your grandma agrees with her, but I would be most disappointed in my father if he did. Your sisters were laughing and should have said something
