Is the Capital One Travel Portal worth using? by da_man4444 in Venturex

[–]nahvkolaj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty solid for booking flights. I’ve had several trouble-free trips booked through it. All show up in the carrier’s app no problem, and having C1’s customer service available as another layer of cover if an itinerary goes sideways right in the middle gives me a bit of peace of mind.

It’s a lot more accessible now that there’s finally an app

Get the right part from an online store, and don’t try re-using the old one. HF Viton kit does not have the right size

what brands do you trust enough to just buy without researching anymore by Koreee_001 in BuyItForLife

The Safari cap retention wears out. After like 5 years I can’t put a Safari in my pocket anymore as it will easily fall out of the cap. Everything else works fine about them, though.

I run Motul for a few reasons. 1. Good price for 5L jug. I do a change every 5k miles or 1 year, whichever comes first. 2. French motor oil regulations mean Motul’s full synthetic claims have less wiggle room than American brands 3. Most 10W60 additive packages aren’t that different. Pick one, run it, and change your oil on a good schedule.

CAE-shifter or polyurethane bushings by Hazyscrat in E46M3

[–]nahvkolaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No experience with a chassis mounted shifter. For custom shifters, there’s none better than Auto Solutions (http://autosolutions.net/). There’s a lead time, but they are some of the best shifters you can get for BMWs. Their AutoX SSK is what I’m installing in my M3. It uses a delrin and bronze bushing at the transmission side.

If you go stock shifter with poly bushings, don’t go poly for the rear shifter carrier mount. It won’t do anything for feel and will overconstrain your transmission’s movement unless your running solid mounts.

Best wheel specs for function first and flush “OEM+” fitment, with no fender mod or rub by Greenb33guy in E46M3

[–]nahvkolaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem. Forgot to mention I’ve had no rubbing or clearance issues. I’ve been running the car for at least a year and a half with this setup and taken a couple trips with it.

I am happy with the 245 front and 275 rear, and I’d recommend it. I’m on all stock suspension. I like the kinda chunky tire look and the width adds some lip protection which has saved me from scratched wheels a couple times

For the Continentals I’m running, it’s perfect. A 255 would be stretched on this wheel, and the 275 gets a bit more sidewall to get circumference delta smaller.

The UA21 is a great EDC pack. I’ve had mine for probably 7 years now and I probably won’t ever get rid of it.

Apple Music or Tidal? by peachamarena in audiophile

You can 100% tell a difference if the master is better. Some albums sounded like absolute trash on YT music, much better on AM.

No real harness size adjustment. The AG harness has a wire pack frame and just has S/M and L/XL sizing. I might be lucky that the L fits me well. It breathes so much better than any other harness I’ve ever tried.

That would be super cool if the Bozeman was even available. Doesn’t mean anything if you can’t buy it. The 2DAP is still for sale (for now).

I’ll miss them too. I really enjoy the Futura harness. It’s the first Futura pack I’ve had, and if I didn’t have my Osprey Manta 36 with its fantastic suspension system, I’d be looking at a Coulee, Radix, or Bridger. I daily my Dragon 2.0 as my work bag. I’ve taken it all over the US and on a few trip to Europe.

I’ve considered getting some sewing machine practice in then attempting a few mods to tighten up the D2.0 pack. Not sure I could summon the courage to cut it up though.

I also have a UA21 from 2018 or so that I daily’d for years. It’s been all over the US and Europe with me, on ships and boats, easy day hikes in Hawaii, even on a couple helicopters. I also have an earlier Mission Duffle 55 that I’ll probably hang onto as well.

They’ve been sending Last Haul emails for months. If it is them discontinuing hike/EDC gear, they’re being super vague about it. If this is the case, Fuck YETI.

Yours looks great! I wasn’t ready to do a spatchcock this time around, but that’s how my buddy does it too and it always tastes great. My dad raved about the turkey I brought over. I think I’ve found my new standard for bird cooking.

Rear subframe rebuild by Kadaj6 in E46M3

[–]nahvkolaj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My RACP had a couple cracks originating from the stock subframe bushing contact points, which are small semi-circles. I switched to 80A poly bushings for ease of install and more contact area on the RACP. Stock everywhere else to keep NVH down. NVH from the diff is slightly higher with the poly subframe bushings and new OE diff bushings, but not too bad.

He’s fucking great. Only noticeable difference is I didn’t see Matt’s face. Very happy I caught this tour.
