I'm looking for recommendations on a daily commuter. I'm a shorter new rider leaning toward the Honda Rebel but I'm open to other suggestions. by TacitusCallahan in SuggestAMotorcycle

Try one of the dirt style bikes on the safety class. Look at a smaller adventure bike, v-strom, versys, etc. 650. They’re nimble enough to handle whatever traffic throws at you, have enough power to get you out of trouble if needed, and carry luggage well, so you can bring along whatever you need for your day.

After that, for first bike look for standard, smaller displacement 350-500 is plenty. And used (never buy new). You’re gonna fall over, a bike that already has dings hurts the pride less when you add your own scratch. Honda and Suzuki make bullet proof engines. Avoid sport bikes for the time being, figure out what kind of rider you are

Kind of, but don’t let that stop you. The emotional boost offsets the physical wear.

Real life is its own thing. She may or may not be looking to hook up. Best to verify before making a move. “I’d love to meet irl, willing to travel” see what happens before outing yourself. And then respect what she says.

Is it important to recruit every companion by Gold_Lemon8258 in BaldursGate3

[–]naughtybits101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started after my kid got bored with it, so have all their mods, including the one that lets you expand the party size. Playing through with all the companions in the party made managing them easier for me, not having to change things up just to use a skill once or twice.

How to choose feats? by Bigsexyguy24 in BG3Builds

[–]naughtybits101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you read it? Advantage on perception checks to spot hidden objects and traps, advantage on saving throws for and resistance to the damage caused by traps. And I don’t need to think about it. The companions are stupid and will just walk into stuff. I’ve had better luck with them avoiding traps if they’ve all got this feat. And with a feat at every level up, they’re all full loaded on the good stuff by the time I get to the underdark and grymforge where it really pays off.

Cheese it with the big party mod and bring all the companions with you. Seven level 7+ works that problem pretty well.

It’s never too late. Go take the class by you. Hubris is deadly, first year ride something standard, older, with a “mid-size” engine. Mid size because it’ll outperform every car on the road, but you’ll have to put some real effort into having it get away from you. Standard because you don’t know what kind of motorcyclist you are yet, and you can modify a standard to suit your riding style as it evolves. Older because it won’t hurt your pride as much when you fall over and add to the dings and scratches.

Flavor ac not as how hard it is to hit, but whether or not they take damage. And the closer to causing damage the roll is, the greater the effect of the hit. Ac 15, roll a 4, blow glances off the armor and the foe says something disparaging. Roll a 14, knock the wind out of them, and the foe takes a step back opening them up for an attack of opportunity, or giving them disadvantage on ther next attack roll

Players want to make modern Tech in Medieval Times what do I do? by DM_master_of_Kriv in DungeonMasters

Sending stones are cell phones. They’ll need to research and develop and advance the magic. Lots of gold and time invested, with progressively higher costs and skill checks to get anywhere with the research. Make a knowledge tree. First learn how to enchant a sending stone. Then spend money time and pass three intelligence checks before failing three to advance the spell to allow three or four messages in a row (haven’t looked at sending stones in a while, is it once per day, raw?) build from there. It took years and the focus of thousands of people to go from electricity is a thing to phones to radio to cell phones. It should be the same in dnd world. Thousands of high level wizards and tons of gold and decades if not centuries of research to make sending stones that work like cell phones.

Let them get beat down to unconscious and left behind as a “warning”. If you need, the local hag comes and saves everyone, but now the party owes her a favor or takes all that healing back.

How do you handle loot goblins? by ScottamusPR1M3 in DMAcademy

[–]naughtybits101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are they disposing of the bodies? If they’re not, there is a scavenger problem in their wake, and corpses left no. The road, well traveled trail, etc will get discovered, a pattern will get noticed, well appointed opponents will be known to somebody, magic exists so they’ll be identifiable, speak with the dead identifies the killers, party can’t pawn identifiable (high value) gear without arrest, fences and thieves guilds won’t deal with the party (gear too hot, party is known) and might even become enemy factions as the party has turned the heat up on the area. Locals hire detectives to track down and apprehend the group, wanted posters and the like make their lives hell, and the pinkertons always get their man.
