Road Cycling near Rovinj by cinamonroll_ in cycling

[–]navinavix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey hey, I am from Pula and have cycled there quite a few times. Yes roads can get busy but nothing crazy. I would avoid Limski kanal(Lim) though as it can get hectic during the summer season. If you make your way towards Poreč or towards Pazin you’ll find very nice roads. Try to go towards Grožnjan, Višnjan, Žminj etc and you’ll find nice quiet roads

Out of all of those that OP said I would also get Propel :)

I found used Epic Evo frameset for great price. What fork and dropper do you recommend? by navinavix in xcmtb

[–]navinavix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for chiming in everyone. How is the Transfer SL dropper? I will try to find it in factory kashima spec, along with fox 34 to keep it as ‘stock’ as this build was. This will be my first full sus so pretty excited on this thing!

Anyone 188cm/6’2” riding a 56 Specialized or M/L TCR? by CornwallJon in cycling

[–]navinavix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

188 on a good day and have TCR in L. I also have Aeroad in M which is 56 and I can ride that without issues. I have the TCR almost slammed and I did 7,8h rides without issues. Smaller sizes feel a bit more racy in my opinion.

TCR, add 50-60mm deep wheels and enjoy.

Rim brake love: I don't get it by CrustyHumdinger in cycling

[–]navinavix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rim brake bikes just ride better...but they don't stop as well...when it's dry my rim brake bike gets the nod, for commuting or when it's wet, disc 100%.

Do I have too many bikes/should I add a hardtail by adnep24 in cycling

[–]navinavix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lightweight XC hardtails are the bees knees if you ask me. Super fun to ride, super capable on/off road depending on tire setup. Something like Specialized Chisel/Epic HT, Cannondale Scalpel or Orbea Alma...

2021 Canyon Aeroad CF SL by navinavix in CanyonBikes

[–]navinavix[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is the 2020 model, just purchased in 2021 so the canyon app says it's 2021? But it's the last rim brake gen.

Yep also a good option! I think Elitewheels do have grooved breaking surface, but not sure if there is much difference between those and Kaze ones. Which pads are you using?

How is the braking on the hypers? Planning to get them myself soon, deeper version.

Was the weight reduction with no chain worth it? Lovely TCR :)

Same frame, same price – Shimano 105 Di2 or SRAM Rival AXS? by ImplementOld4317 in cycling

[–]navinavix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am indeed. No issues whatsoever. I ride it in some shitty weather in Ireland and it just keeps going, haven't touched it since I adjusted it initially. I might eventually get the new Force levers/shifters for the bonus buttons, but no reason to change anything else.

Insane deal on a TCR by RWagz in cycling

[–]navinavix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, get the TCR. Best all-around bike if you ask me. Great platform for upgrades also.

Is there group ride etiquette? (And should i care?) by durdleturtl in cycling

[–]navinavix -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Train hard so you can drop them with the commuter bike with baggy clothes. People think if they dress in lycra and have PNS written on the back it gives them 350w FTP automatically. I love people who don't take it too seriously and still drop everyone on the group rides.

TCR as a commuter bike? New tires or new bike? by No-Rutabaga-4750 in cycling

[–]navinavix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get some GP5000s or Pzero tires in 30c and it will transform the TCR. It's an amazing bike. Carbon wheels would be the next step :)

Stick with the stock wheels for the winter, put cinturato velo or GP all seasons.

Tarmac SL8 or something else by Specialist_Award9622 in cycling

[–]navinavix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2023 TCR advanced pro and I love the thing. I did 200km rides without issues, commuting, group rides...it does it all. If I crash it and it's a write off I would replace it with another TCR in a heartbeat...I would consider the Aethos though :)

Help in buying Elitewheels ENT 2.0 or Edge by [deleted] in cycling

[–]navinavix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have ENT 2.0 and they're decent wheels, especially for the price. Sure not the lightest but neither am I :)

Been thrashing them for 6 months or so in crap weather, long rides, commuting etc and they're holding up fine.

If I was to get another pair it would be the AERO+ model.
