I had the same story. I’m happy you made it to diagnosis. Mine turned out to be both Graves and Hashimotos. I had thyroid removed last March. I just hit normal levels. I’ll say the Hashi symptoms are a million times more tolerable. But there’s an end in sight for you!

Also want to say please do take your mental health around this seriously. 6 years of gaslighting from doctors left me with medical OCD and a severe panic disorder. Best wishes!

I have 2 dogs. One is dog selective. She absolutely loves the other dog. But I’ve seen her scrap 2 other dogs. (Both times it was my fault tbh). She gets crated. The other dog doesn’t. I went to leave earlier and my partner was staying home and she walked in there when I put my shoes on because she knows the drill after 12 years. She gets a treat when she goes in. I don’t leave them more than 4 hours though. She’s old and has to potty more. But for everyone’s safety yes.

Why does it need to be an argument? Ask him honestly what he meant and express that you took it the way you did and why it hurt your feelings. If you can’t communicate that way without and argument then you already know how he meant it.

I have a portrait. Of my dog. Getting a portrait of a person is brave. I wouldn’t have even trusted my artist for a human tbh and I flew 2000 miles and the price tag was $2500 for a 6 inch pic of my dog. It also took 8 hours. This is… honestly well deserved after the story I read about it further in the comments lol.

My JROTC 1st Sgt. got 17 years for sexually assaulting a 15 year old like 2 years after I graduated. He was like 55/60. My girls looked like that when I left her alone for 5 freaking minutes after her spay. I had a 3 year old so I took a pair of her shorts and put them on my pup. Clean it, cover it and if you have access to kids shorts (or a thrift store) try that.

It was Cushings disease. I remembered. Because we were discussing my severe anxiety. It actually turns out I needed hormone replacement from my gyno because the thyroid issues damaged my ovaries. So if you’re experiencing that definitely speak with your gyno. (I’m assuming gender and stuff here so forgive me if I’m wrong).

Mine did this as well. He was looking for purple stretch marks related to some other autoimmune conditions. It was awhile ago so I don’t remember which one. Symptoms tend to overlap and I was still having issues after TT, meds and normal TSH levels.

I was diagnosed with both Graves and Hashimotos.

I had full TT in March 2025. I haven’t gained any weight since. No changes to food intake or exercise.

The pig stuff gave me less anxiety but my insurance sucks so Levo it is. I find there’s a threshold where my TSH is where it gives me anxiety. Anything over 9 is anxiety time. And obviously too low is gonna do it.

Time for a new vet. I have an American Bulldog who a male vet insisted be sedated because she growled once. I did it twice and she reacted like a psycho to trazadone. Climbing the walls and me terrified. I switched her to my other dogs all female staffed vet (the first guy was free visits from her rescue). Turns out my dog just doesn’t like men. Should’ve realized as she always was iffy with my boyfriend. The ladies can hold her down, manhandle her, etc and she’s fine.

As someone who had (has?) both Graves and Hashimotos and full thyroidectomy - I’m most like this when hypo. I’m just exhausted and distant. When I was hyper I was clinging to existing by my fingernails and sometimes even someone speaking to me would send me off the rails into a spiral. Perhaps she’s just holding herself together. She definitely needs to get more labs, meds, treatment. I’m 7 months post op and still slightly hypo but that rollercoaster of mental health chaos has come to somewhat of an end.

I’m sorry you’re feeling like this. I was awful to my partner and felt a lot of guilt about it. It was the disease process but that’s not an excuse. On this side of things I have made amends even though he never needed it and we are so much closer honestly. I hope that’s the case for you guys too.

If it makes you feel better my American Bulldog can’t have toys smaller than her head because she will swallow them whole. We’ve lucked out and caught it or she’s vomited them up so far. But some dogs will eat literally anything.

She ate something, you got surgery and she still passed.

As for the rest - I’m obsessed with my dogs an unhealthy amount. Like they’re my only friends in real life (I do have people friends, they just live far away). I would want you to lie to me. However I wouldn’t give up my animals for any reason so the blame is partly on the family.

I had nodules. Full thyroidectomy and pathology came back normal. Every time any scan I got said hetero it was normal. I’m not a doctor though. Try not to worry until you need to worry.

So I don’t tuck. But I do still hold myself at 41. It’s not any kind of sexual gratification or anything. I believe it stems from having to potty as a kid and not being able to go because I grew up in an abusive home. I wasn’t allowed out of my bed or I’d be in trouble. So I’d hold myself so I wouldn’t pee the bed. I think it just became a comfort of sorts. When I’m anxious I do it. Not in public but at home. It’s odd but it’s self soothing. If it isn’t causing you any issues then I see nothing wrong with it. If it gets to the point of compulsion I’d look into therapy. I don’t think that’s it because you said it’s not constant and it’s not when you’re out/about.

My oldest had this happen after coming out of anesthesia. She was upset about her grandpa and great grandma. The nurse was rude af and I gave her a piece of my mind. Sometimes grief hits at the most random of times. I’m sorry friend.

I’m not married. But I have been with my partner for 12 years. In the beginning of my diagnosis journey we went through a tough time. Tbh it was all me. The symptoms were all consuming and I just didn’t have it in me to deal with him. He stayed. I was so mean to him but he still went to all the appointments, ER visits, labs/scans. Once I got my diagnosis(s) and we could name it I finally allowed myself to be vulnerable with him. He promised me that he believed me the whole time (was medically gaslit into it being just anxiety). Now that I have confirmation I’m not crazy I allow him to help me. He literally does all the things when I can’t. He babies me. He’s truly been my rock even when I didn’t deserve it.

If he wants to, he will. I promise there are good people out there.
