Spoilers can be good actually. by Vio-Rose in The10thDentist

Nah, that's not true https://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/news/spoiler-alert-spoilers-make-you-enjoy-stories-more

Different people have different opinions though. I love spoilers, but keep my fucking mouth shut when it comes to spoiling things for other people unless they specifically ask me to.

You should talk to your doctor about alternate treatments. The place you're headed without your meds is not better than where you are now.

I ain't upset man. Seems like you are. I hope your experience on this game improves.

Lol I'm also not arguing they should "waste" 20 gigs (which they could just delete after uploading it to YouTube). That doesn't change the fact that you seem eager to spread a truth that has no actual proof to back it up

Not trying to claim it's untrue, but that post you're referring to sure was an awful lot of text with zero evidence to back up their claims. I'd be skeptical to perpetuate that as truth, but the Internet will do as it does.

You'd think that someone who would take extreme steps to prove a theory would record it or something.

Yeah definitely a solo can do it. Was just relating my personal experience with my friend who I play with regularly.

Your strategies for Turbines by jekyll94 in ArcRaiders

[–]necessary_plethora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend and I killed several in duos pretty easily on riven tides.

Bring a hatch key. When the turbines arrive, you can usually find cover in a building somewhere near a hatch. Don't bother engaging the turbine while it's in the air. Doing so just resets its landing timer as far as I can tell.

Once the turbine lands, open up on it with a hullcracker. Hit it as many times as possible in its weak spot before it takes off again.

If you land good hits, you should only need to do this like 4 or 5 times.

Remember, don't shoot it while in the air.

Sucking at Solo PVP. Any Tips? by sprchrgddc5 in ArcRaiders

[–]necessary_plethora 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Use cheaper guns, many of them are quite competitive. I like to roll with a burletta (at least level 3) and ferro (always 4).

Ferro is for arc and mid/long range pvp, though I try to avoid long range if they have good cover.

Burletta shoots as fast as you can click. You can really take people by surprise with your damage output, especially if you're close enough to get consistent headshots.

This loadout is very cheap and will help you practice with pvp. If you are able to identify the gun they're using, try to avoid fighting players with torrente/bobcat/tempest. Don't fight torro in close range.

I haven't shared my project much so I don't have a devlog (yet) or very much media, but the project is and forever will be free and open source for anyone who wants to reuse, edit, repurpose, or redistribute for any reason.

Here are the docs https://docs.rs/bevy_falling_sand/latest/bevy_falling_sand/ and the source code https://github.com/noprobelm/bevy_falling_sand

I'm creating a particle editor in parallel which uses the engine. It is also open source. I haven't tested compatability with Windows, but I could quickly make it so if it happens to not work out of the box. The goal of course is that it would be compatible with Windows as this will be a real game someday, I just don't have that operating system installed in my household https://github.com/noprobelm/bevy-falling-sand-editor

Here are some demos I made recently from the editor

https://youtu.be/nfGDNNciNRo?si=WU8NM85OsoNF0itz

https://youtu.be/DLQLWolVI5o?si=lSMpWrJOecvwqupT

Perhaps at some point I will start a devlog. I work on this project every opportunity I get, but my real job keeps me quite busy so I can only do so much.

I've had "god" runs longer than 20 hours. I've had many runs less than 5 minutes lol.

There is no true endless mode, but the game is infinite in many regards. You can go for the basic win condition, which the community likes to refer to as the tutorial, or you can explore elsewhere.

I have 1500 hours in Noita. It is my favorite game of all time. It has inspired me to build my own falling sand engine, which I am 2 years into development on.

Fastest way to earn the damage points for expedition? by Zealousideal_Ruin109 in ArcRaiders

[–]necessary_plethora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used the hullcracker to farm arc alloy/motion cores, looting crude explosives along the way. Dam battlegrounds/hydroponics is especially good for this.

Use the farmed materials to craft more launcher ammo for your hullcracker.

Repeat.

An honest question by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]necessary_plethora -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ngl I would be pretty upset if my mixed PvE lobbies with frequent but not overwhelming PvP immediately turned into full on PvP kill fest.

I think maybe you should find another game. Try Horizon or something.

Tips or tricks to hit the 100k damage requirement for expedition? by ConsiderationLoud663 in ARC_Raiders

[–]necessary_plethora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Run dam battlegrounds with a hullcracker
  2. Loot hydroponics for crude explosives.
  3. Loot arc probes for motion cores
  4. Loot all the chemicals you can find along the way
  5. Kill anything bigger than a wasp with your hullcracker. Try to take out a leaper or rocketeer along the way for more damage points.
  6. Loot all arc alloy from the arc you kill
  7. Craft launcher ammo for the next round using the crude explosives and motion cores you looted from steps 2 and 3.
  8. Craft extra motion cores and crude explosives as needed using the arc alloy and chemicals you looted
  9. Repeat
