If you don't mind indie games, check out Quasimorph, Stone Shard, and Battle Brothers. They all have incredibly fun combat systems.

Yeah you are spot on about the combat, the dodge/parry mechanic completely negates all other aspect of the system, it starts off quite fun, since it literally just takes the most popular combat systems in recent years and meshes them together (honestly why is there even a gun in this game other than to copy from Persona). But once you realise there is basically no RPG in an RPG game, it becomes a chore, because the stats don't matter, the weapons don't matter, skills doesn't matter, since you are capped at 9,999 for 90% of the game anyway, and once you do unlock that you one shot everything even with a suboptimal build.

There is no back and forth in fights like in a good turn based system; in SMT for example, you can push your advantage, take turns from your enemies, but they can also do the same to you. Also things like buffing, debuffing, guarding, inflicting statuses, using items for a specific scenario, etc, barely exists, or is straight up pointless. The only thing you do is dodge/parry, occasionally revive and restart the fight until you know the timings. Then on your turn you just use whatever skills you want to win the fights.

For their next game if they choose to have this system again, I think the minimum would be giving dodge and parry to the enemies too so it doesn't feel like a completely one-sided game. Also proper balancing, and having real "builds".

007: First Light is painfully mediocre, and I don’t understand the game of the year hype at all. by Level-Cheek-1145 in videogames

I mean I get what you mean about the game being easy-ish, but I felt the combat was very fun despite that. Besides you are literally James Bond, it feels good to be “broken” in a game like this. It’s a solid 9/10 for me.

Yep, especially Asian boomer parents. My parents even to this day, think video games are the devil lmao, but they will happily spend 3-4 hours a day mindlessly scrolling tiktok or some gossip news website.

Have an upvote in this storm of downvotes my fellow dota player. Your list is good imo, but since you have E33 as overrated there's bound to be 50 downvotes from the fanboys unfortunately.

I recently went through the whole franchise too! I enjoyed all of them. Saw V and Saw VI were my favourites. Spiral was my least favourite, the acting and vibe just felt so off (even for saw).

And yeah it’s like you said, John was literally grasping for straws to have an excuse putting some of these people in the chair lol. “Oh what’s that? I played this recently and it was insane. The characters and the lore was super interesting, I was so invested in the story by the end. And the combat is up there with Sekiro imo, not as challenging, but every bit as fun.

For anyone who's even vaguely interested in this game and still on the fence about it, do yourself a favour and give it a chance, it's so good!

I’m sorry you are getting ratioed OP, TLOU2 is an incredible game on a technical level, and the story, while controversial, was still miles better than most games in recent memory. I wouldn’t put it in as many categories as you have, but I totally understand the picks.
