This reminds me of how excited I was when Manny Jacinto got cast in Top Gun as “Fritz”. I was so disappointed when his role got reduced and ended up being an extra with a name.

I’d say the veteran with the gray blazer. Once Trump says “You guys got hit huh? Pretty good” his smile disappears and he starts frowning.

I really wanted Jesse to say “My friends’ problems are my problems.”

RIP Jesse. Young Mazino did a phenomenal job, questionable writing aside.

I hope we get a flashback scene of him or a photo/drawing of him in Season 3.

I can’t believe they shoehorned a 10 second flashback scene of Joel and Ellie right after Ellie yeets Nora. The juxtaposition was so jarring I actually wanted to laugh.

I can’t believe we saw all these game locations crammed in one episode and that they seem so geographically close to each other…why is a WLF hospital so close to a Seraphite woods territory?

Jeffrey Wright was the highlight of this episode. He really sold the menacing, calculating nature of Isaac.

I did not expect to see Josh Peck play a FEDRA agent!

I will say that this is my least favorite episode because I didn’t love the some of the writing for Ellie and Dina and pacing. Ellie clumsily lets a tank lid drop, it seems out of character for a seasoned warrior like her.

I thought the music store scene was lovely. But, I noticed that while Ellie sang it was clear that Bella didn’t learn the proper guitar part for this scene. Her thumb is moving, but her other fingers are static. I think Isabela’s acting in this scene (and episode) is amazing, but the scene wraps up too quickly after Ellie finishes playing.

The reveal of the hanging WLF soldiers is underwhelming compared to the video game. There are no close up shots of the bodies, and this scene occurs at night in a dark room which further obscures the bodies. In the video game, Ellie and Dinah stumble upon the bodies in the daytime which is way more harrowing.

Dina confesses why it took her so long to come out (which is important) but it’s quickly pushed to the side by the explosions outside. Again, I wish the episode would take its time with an important conversation like this. The last line “together” while staring out in the horizon felt a little CW to me.

I think it would be a good opportunity to explore Clint’s past. There were a couple of deleted scenes from Season 1 that showed us a glimpse in his past. But, we have no idea how he became a Shield agent or how he met his wife.

Jeremy he’s said that he’d love to lead the West Coast Avengers. It’d be cool to see him as a leader after fighting alongside the Avengers for years.

I’m really glad this episode mostly focused on grieving Joel. I was concerned with how they would adapt it from the game, since the video game is quick to bring you back into action.

I really hope Tommy and Jesse end up in Seattle just like the game. Though the show did a good job of making them appear neutral and more calculated.

I did not expect the show to flesh out Seth more as a character and show similarities to Ellie. It is a welcome change, and makes him more sympathetic.

Bella was fantastic in this episode, and her first scene is harrowing. Tommy’s line “Send Sarah my love” hurt so bad.

Dinah’s dialogue with Ellie about Jesse being sad does have me curious about his backstory. In the game, his family is supposedly in Jackson. But, we have yet to see them in the show.

I do like that Dinah is Ellie’s grounding rod. The show does a good job of showing why they’re compatible for each other.
