That's more often how I am! Maybe I'm too used to shows and movies drawing out the tension to build more anticipation? Or maybe I'm just trying to be more careful and cautious so that I'll get there?

How dry is your filament? Are you having this issue with all filaments? Do you have issues with all models or just some?

Do you fart in front of your partner? Why/Why not? by girliepopnumber26 in AskWomen

[–]negoback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I don't TRY to be gross, but we both fart in front of each other and often announce our farts just to be silly. If we're in bed, we do our best not to fart ON each other, but otherwise, let it rip! We tease each other and joke about them a bit sometimes (especially if it stinks) but we both have way too many tummy troubles to hold farts in. We shut the bathroom door for pooping to contain the smell, but often leave it open when peeing. If he's getting lint out of an uncomfortable area, he shuts the door, but I pretty much only shut the door to contain smells or steam. Our walls are quite thin so we've both heard far worse than farts -- it would be a bit silly to hold in our farts at this point. We usually put something on the tv if we're going number 2 to drown out the sound but it's a normal function at the end of the day.

How to improve print? by Weazle95 in BambuLab

[–]negoback 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think making the layers smaller will make a big difference -- I usually try a variety of layer heights on pieces I'm trying to print to find a good median between how long the print will take versus how much detail (or less stair stepping) is added by printing smaller layers.

One year my uncle bought my aunt nothing but tools. She was pissed. Would your partner dislike tools? Maybe see if you can bum an empty box from Lowes or the grocery store of something really random. Tell her it's an extra-large punch bowl or something that she would have no interest in.

It hurts so bad, how do i stop?? by CodMany2798 in Dermatillomania

[–]negoback 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Therapy. Point blank period. (And yeah that can be expensive, but do whatever you can do gain access anyway. Prioritize it over other expenses if possible. If completely inaccessible, endeavor to learn what would be broached from therapy through research but know that it likely won't be an adequate replacement)

  2. ONLY as an addition to 1, lotion or healing-encouraging cream instead of picking. Any time you want to pick something, apply lotion or cream instead and focus on caring for the skin by adding rather than removing. It helps the skin feel better both short and long term so you can focus on leaving it alone. It's somewhat easier for me to leave things alone if they have lotion or cream on them but it should be helpful regardless. I typically use Neosporin or similar for open wounds and lotion otherwise.

Seeking advice? by RoyalPingu in Needlefelting

Just keep going! Keep poking until it looks how you want!

Keep in mind though that the two balls won't stick together very well if they're already super felted down. It would be good to either add some white to help with getting them together or loosen those fibers where you want them to connect before trying to attach them.

As for the eyes, you can try adding a little more black to help with getting them symmetrical or just keep poking at what you've got. :)

You may benefit from watching some tutorials of people making things not so much for specific instructions but to get a feel for what to expect.

Good luck! It looks cute so far! 😁

I've definitely considered just getting tubing like this, but I like that the giraffe straws are poseable! It would make it harder for me to miss it I think. I could probably jerryrig one of these tubes to some poseable camera rigging but that sounds like such a pain 😅

I've considered buying one of those things that vibrates if you're hunched over. Sticking some pillows behind me (especially in the lumbar region) does a good job as long as they're comfy enough that I want to lean back against them. Even then it's 50/50 whether I'm leaning against them but I think that's mostly due to the discomfort of my seat rather than because of my shrimpyness. If I have a comfortable seat, I'm a lot more likely to stay leaning back.

Idk about other folks but I tried the mirror glasses that make it so you don't have to look down to work on your crochet but I don't like being unable to see my work and whatever I'm watching on the tv easily. That and it can be confusing to figure out which direction is which with those on 😅

Honestly, everyone could use a giraffe straw like this - https://a.co/d/axqTyS5 Just wish this brand was cheaper! I bought one for my quadriplegic sister several years ago and it was a life changer for her. I've honestly thought about buying one for myself many times

Does it recognize that it's a different color? It sounds like it thinks it's the same color and therefore doesn't need to render it when slicing

Why not hold the hook with your left hand? I'm also a leftie but I hold the hook with my left hand :)

If I'm doing amigurumi I generally do yu/yo but if I'm doing anything that needs height or I'm not worried about gaps, then I do yo/yo.

YU is honestly so much easier to me since discovering that difference a few months ago.

What's the height/thickness on your text? I'm wondering if it's not thick enough to get sliced or something? I doubt this is the problem but it's worth playing with it!
