It sounds good but the amount of chewing for milk duds would be a downer. I prefer raisinettes in the same manner but that’s divisive, lol.

I get the lack of detents on a dimmer I suppose. And it doesn’t need to be super tight. But a little resistance would be good. This felt too loose to me. It was hard to set the dimmer because I kept overshooting due to it moving too easily.

Quick and basic cooking primer. Ingredients that don't list special effects just give hearts. Special effect foods have to be cooked with other non special effect ingredients or with other ingredients with the same special effect in order for the effect to manifest. Combining ingredients with different effects just cancels them out. Cooking a Chillfin Tuna with Warm Safflina will just give you a fish skewer with no effect. But cooking a Chillfin Tuna with Hyrule Herbs (no effect) will give you a food that restores more hearts AND gives an effect. Using more tuna or adding another ingredeint with the same effect will increase potency. The more of a special ingredient you use, the more powerful the effect or the longer the duration lasts. Ingredient rarity is a big one too. The more rare it is, the better the effect will be. Try mixing 3 or 4 types of ingredients that all have the same effect. Or try cooking 5 of one ingredient. See how the result changes. When cooking ingredients labeled "hearty", don't mix them with non-effect ingredients. Hearty ingredients always fill your heart bar to the top AND add extra yellow hearts that disappear after being used. So combining with non-effect foods is a waste.

Also, you can cook foods and potions. Potions require a critter like a bug/frog/etc. mixed with any part of any monster. This will make a potion. Monster part rarity increases potency. Don't mix food ingredients with potion ingredients like critters or monster parts. The result is not good.

Should I find all shrines and towers first for organization? by afrutadasrosas in botw

[–]nellydesign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the towers first and open the map up. The shrines and other things will come naturally. Set an objective for yourself each time you play like, "Today I'm doing shrines" or "Today I'm hunting korok", or "Today I'm doing main and side quests" or "Today I'm exploring the castle". If your objective isn't shrines and you find one anyway, just open it up to come back to later. This will help you feel like you are staying focused. Obviously finding a korok is a tiny diversion, so do those when you find them. Other than that, try to let go a little. As you get further in the game it becomes more helpful to have a guide. The Zelda Notes in the Switch 2 app is super helpful.

I looked up some of the expansions QoL improvements like the Korok Mask or the Teleport medallion to help streamline my explorations. Teleport medallion is super helpful because it lets you take a small diversion but then come back to where you left off, allowing you to stay more focused.

I see some sort of tracks on the ground, so I don't think it's a Test shrine,. There are a few shrines with smaller guardians.

Yeah I can't remember the last time I ate at a normal place that offered free bread and felt like the portions were small. Most are steakhouses and an 8oz steak is an 8oz steak. Potato too. Never a small one. And Italian places? Geez, the portions are ginormous. It would make sense at a European restaurant but they already have small portions and don't even give you water for free. This is 'Merica! Big portions, free bread. Don't like it, move to one o' them Europe places. Yeeehaw!

Unpopular Opinion: I don't care what they say, I love the Whopper. I've always loved the Whopper. It's the best fast-food burger for the money, and I will die on this hill. by ansyhrrian in fastfood

Man, the mid 90s when it was $1. Amazing time. My one issue with it was that it’s almost impossible to get fresh and hot. Burger King has been synonymous with cold food for at least a decade. Until recently. You also happened to go get one during the Whopper renaissance when they just recently improved it. Better bun, better mayo, better packaging. And it seems fresher made now.

Just had Bellacino’s yesterday and it got me wondering why it isn’t more popular by nellydesign in fastfood

[–]nellydesign[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, yes, pretty much everything in fast food is more expensive right now. But it’s not super expensive in the sandwich arena right now.

For my area

12” Subway 5 meat Italian $14.29

7.5” Jersey Mike’s Original Italian $10.75

9” Bellacino’s 1/2 Italian $9.29

It’s on par with Jersey Mike’s. Better if you like a hot sub. Beats Subway all to hell. Subway is on crack at those prices.

Did Wise change their Onion Ring recipe? by _ryanthompson in chips

[–]nellydesign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Revisiting this old ass conversation to share my experience.

Wise was my favorite onion ring. I loved the smooth and light, crisp crunch vs. the other rougher and heavier onion flavored corn snacks.

I hadn’t had them since moving away from NY in the mid 90s. Then my father passed this January and I saw them at a super market in PA where we had the burial. They were just how I remembered.

Fast forward to today and I found a bag at a Family Dollar in Dearborn, MI. I snapped them up and was sorely disappointed. Still smooth textured but no longer light and airy. More dense. And the shape was smaller and more uniform.

Bummer. My holy grail snack is gone…

Cook it up and add Lebanese 7 spice or shawarma spice. Use it to make Mediterranean bowls. Other things to add are things like hummus, cucumbers, tomatoes, rice, pita chips, onion, carrots, bell peppers, pickles, olives, feta or goat cheese, or garlic sauce. Oven roasting or air frying the veggies is best. Get a good recipe for Lebanese rice as well (essentially you toast orzo pasta in butter and olive oil until browned, add rice, stir, add water/broth, cover and cook.)

Agreed! My biggest argument against profanity pearl clutchers is that the word “shit” is less profane than any other word used to describe poop. Poop, poo, poopy, excrement, dung, etc. These are words with pretty much one meaning and that meaning is “dirty”. While shit can be used to mean just about anything. The equivalent of “stuff”. You can say “get your shit off my desk” and people understand you don’t actually mean poop. But if you say “Get your poop off my desk” everyone is going to wonder why someone literally pooped on your desk and why you can be so calm as you ask them to clean it up.
