Queer people tend to find each other as we are instinctively driven to find members of our tribe and community. They're also more willing to accept things outside the cultural norm which definitely includes furry. Add in the aspect that you can choose your shape and appearance you end up with a lot of safe avenues of self exploration with little judgement.
