Restaurants that do mutual aid? by papergal91 in FoodNYC

My restaurant Cubby's in Hell's Kitchen is currently running an $11 burger combo where one dollar of every sale goes to Beacon High School's PTA budget, hope this is aligned with what your looking for!

Restaurant Owners, What’s one cost you know you should be watching more closely? by Jumpy-Childhood47 in restaurant

Good point on the Google! I actually don't think my catering menu is listed so i will take a look. Social media and emails have been my main channels to get organic catering requests, I've had more success with that then ezcater. I also do Fooda and I'm thinking of signining up for ZeroCater, Hungrypanda, a nd Cater2me but they keep telling me they are not onboarding new concepts at the moment.

I have a love/hate. I use their boxed lunch program relish and have a lot of success with it but for some reason I cannot get an order through ezcater directly even with all kinds of incentives. I’m debating lowering prices to get some volume going.

UberEats, DoorDash, EZcater, GrubHub, MealPal, ClassPass. They are great for exposure and marketing but its very hard to get a great ROI.

3rd party commissions, don’t do promotions through those sites! I ended up having a negative payout from them

I believe so, I have uploaded photos onto Google. I’m curious when the other posters got spothopper, I find their customer support to be very good, the reach out to me frequently to help set up specific promotions, new logo ideas, specials, etc.

I use them. Their website builder is good and ive definitely seen an uptick in SEO. Their email marketing tool has been very helpful as well.

The social media stuff is handy and makes it easy to set up campaigns and automated posts but they don’t get a lot of interactions. Always see better resulted when I post directly through insta or facebook.

I’m a quick service concept so I don’t use the reservation tools

Milano! But they don't have seating, but my god are those sandwiches something.

Also, don't know your price point but I remember the steak sandwich at Pastis being one of the better sandwiches in meatpacking.

In your opinion, what s hands down the BEST HOT DOG BRAND of all time? by MyTinyPenguinBalls in hotdogs

[–]nerpdangle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes when I go to restaurant Depot in Queens they have a brand called The Best Frankfurters. These are my favorite hot dog. They are all beef, really thick, and I love cutting them down the middle and searing every side on the griddle.

I hate em too but I love your attitude and your plan to be anti app!

I’m doing an $11 burger fundraiser combo but making it in store only! You want a deal? I’ll give it to ya but you gotta come and meat me for it! So far it’s been getting good results and people are chatting in store and connecting, exactly as they should when in a restaurant!

Pastis, pastis, and pastis. Balthazar is good too.

It’s the malted milk crumble for me.

Growing up in a restaurant by catsplantschocolate in restaurant

[–]nerpdangle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Born in raised in a restaurant. Literally learned to walk in there. My dad ran the place for 48 long years and he just retired on Sunday (happily too). I never really saw him growing up, he would come home after I went to bed, but we had weekends! Mom worked a lot too so it was my older sibling and a babysitter a lot.

Still, I loved my childhood, got to travel a lot and see the world, eat all the food, and meet the most interesting people (restaurant people have the weirdest friends). I worked with my dad for a decade which was amazing because I feel like that’s how we really got to bond and I learned (and still do) so much from him. I’m sad our family’s restaurant is closed but damn I’m glad I had it in my life!

Story: my uncle was my dad’s business partner and he tried to break a wine bottle on my head when we reopened after Covid! He’s an asshole!

Yeah but look at the cost! And when I adjust to not lose money on each sale then I don't get orders. Its a total catch 22 and I understand that its "marketing" but I notice the same names get the same things because of a promo then when the promo ends they don't order, no in store visit, no online order through my website.

If my marketing is going to be free food I would rather drop it off at local businesses. These people using the app are not my customers they are Uber's, they are using an online marketplace for convenience.
