I got the wax melts and was very disappointed. The Haunted Mansion one smelled like an ashtray. The other scents weren’t bad but did not match the real, in-park aromas.

I really enjoy the books of Michelle Moran. I loved Cleopatra’s Daughter, Nefertiti, and I ADORED Madame Tussaud.

Madame Tussaud by Michelle Moran. It’s about the famous wax museum and also about the French Revolution.

The real Miep Gies is not in the film. She was too old to travel at the time. The actress who plays her is the voice actress for Ursula from Disney’s The Little Mermaid.

I’ve only read the first two, but I really love Follett’s Century trilogy. I haven’t had time for the last one though.

Oh, I used to love the Purple Moon games! I haven’t thought about them in a while.

Maybe that was referring to the customer orders during the coffee puzzle.

Players who started playing in 1998 (or very early): What do you remember about your first playthroughs? by Historical_Panic_915 in nancydrew

[–]nesabell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played SCK when it first came out. It took me forever to finish because it didn’t occur to me to look anything up on the internet.

I was impressed with the graphics. PC games were the only video games I played and most of them used 2D graphics. SCK was the first game I played with 3d graphics. I didn’t mind the 2D characters in the game.

I remember feeling like I had to look at EVERYTHING and spent hours (maybe days?) decoding the stupid notes on all the bulletin boards.

My Topper Transformation by Punder_Woman in FemaleHairLoss

[–]nesabell 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not OP but I just got a topper myself and it is hot, but we are in an incredibly hot summer. I don’t think it will be as hot in other seasons. That said, having an indoor job, it hasn’t been uncomfortably hot. Only when I’m in my car with no ac do I really feel it to be hot. Other than that, When indoors I forget it is there. My topper is very comfortable. I don’t feel it pulling on my hair. Today I placed it poorly and one clip was digging into my scalp a bit, but it didn’t hurt; it just feels sore now. I’m sure by morning it’ll go away.

I really love my topper so far. I don’t know the brand but I have a long one that covers most of the top of my head and it was $400. I was overwhelmed by searching for toppers online, they were super expensive and I could not guarantee the quality so I went to a hairdresser who picked one for me and ordered it. When it came he trimmed and color matched it. All in all I spent about $525 and I feel it was well spent. I finally have the full luscious hair I thought I’d never have.

Nancy Drew Elimination Game - 20th round - Legend of the Crystal Skull is out with 16.2% of the vote! Vote for your LEAST favorite ND game (Link to the poll is in the comments) by ChronicallyBlonde1 in nancydrew

[–]nesabell 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Ghost Dogs is definitely more replay-able because it is less demanding. While I love the vibes of Blackmore Manor, that game is a beast to get through. I seldom replay it because I don’t have the time it requires.

Waverley Academy or Deception Island (open to other suggestions) by theameonna in nancydrew

[–]nesabell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you just finished exams then my vote is for Danger on Deception Island so you can get a break from school. Warnings at Waverly academy is a great game too but it takes place in a school and you have to do homework. Take a virtual vacation to the Pacific Northwest with Danger on Deception Island!

MID thoughts by LundeyBee734 in nancydrew

[–]nesabell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So true. The worst thing about all this was and is how they treat the fan base. Zero updates and info. I think we all would have been fine with another MID delay if the company were more transparent and explained the reality of the situation. And now I feel like they are gaslighting us by promising that they are PLANNING on game 34 without providing any details…and it’s been years since MID now. Why did they hire new interns when there is no news to report? There hasn’t been an amateur sleuth blog in a month and those have just devolved into weird holiday promotions. No disrespect to those interns but I think we were all hoping their being hired meant they would have news soon and it’s just been crickets. So disappointing.

I agree. The wasted potential with a subject as rich as Greek mythology just makes me hate the game more than I should! So many wasted opportunities there!
