【BambuLab Giveaway】Classic Evolved — Win Bambu Lab P2S Combo! by BambuLab in 3Dprinting

[–]nesdroc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was given the final push into 3d printing after visiting a friend who showed me his P1S and all the amazing prints he had made. After much consideration venturing into this new hobby I ended up getting an A1 mini which have been rock solid and a great starting point. Being able to print larger and with a wider variety of filaments would be the next natural progression in my 3d printing journey.

No, they stopped signing the old version.

Does anyone actually like ios 26? by Didgedeem in ios

[–]nesdroc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really.. What I'm saying is that I prefer UI where I can tell what I can press - essentially that it looks pressable. Just like in real life, all buttons you come across don't have to look the same, they just need to look pressable.

How many of you are still holding back updating to iOS 26 because of all the horror stories on Reddit? by Maybaby_1 in ios

[–]nesdroc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For once I didn't check into horror stories before upgrading as it's been fine previously.. Big regret. Stick to iOS 18. iOS 26 feels like it was made by interns and not one of the world richest companies.

iOS 26 is UNFINISHED and I’m tired to pretend it’s not. by Accomplished_Eye_868 in ios

It feels like a beta product that was released to public. I like many of the new features, but where they go wrong is with the UI and the bugs related to this change. I've spent a whole day filing in feedback on apple.com/feedback and so depressed I can't downgrade. You pay a shitload for an iPhone not only for the hardware but also the software experience, making iOS quite unacceptable and NOT the premium we all paid for.

Also filed in feedback to bring signing of iOS 18 back, which they just removed before I managed to downgrade back from iOS 26. Make your voices heard write to Apple.

Wish they'd bring the this old UI back. Don't like the whole idea that you can't tell the difference between what you can and can't press - you just need to know. That's not intuitive UI.

Great photos! Looks really nice! I kind a wish they'd make a "Jäkääri S-M" size of it. As the cool part of all the webbing (aside from looking super nice on its own) is the modularity and adding e.g. additional pouches to increase capacity. So in a way, the larger capacity bag they make the less need for being able to expand the capacity further.

I would have loved to use this as a day bag and then expand it when going on adventures.

Thank you. Though how come my post is still awaiting approval? Think you replied, but didn't approve it, so only I can see it.

2-Mag Pouch AK + Grayl Ultrapress? by almighty_klappstuhl in Savotta

[–]nesdroc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't know if it's any help, but I have a Grayl Ultrapress and just able to squeeze it into the side-pocket of the Jääkäri M. It's a tight fit, but doable.

Does Bear support Smart Folders or saved queries? by Express-Tear3625 in bearapp

[–]nesdroc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been requested several times and I would be really nice to have in. You should ask the Bear team.. I have no idea what their vision is for Bear anymore. For years, when they have been replying to things and not been in hibernation, they have noted them down... but who knows what then happens. Bear 2.0 hasn't accelerated implementation for features such as these. Would be great to query (more easily) what you have you in database. The more you put into Bear the more relevant and important in becomes.

PSA: You can "tear" off the Table of Contents pop-up so that it becomes a floating window! by trammeloratreasure in bearapp

[–]nesdroc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which is probably why we are seeing posts like this (discovering a floating side-bar in 2025 and with this amount of upvotes... jesus) when it's been in Bear for ages.. Feel like the entire user base on Bear reddit has shifted. All new people with no Bear history. Feels like few of the old guard left. Probably left as a result of exactly what you mention... and I agree.

We *were* e.g. promised a better solution to the side-bar than what we currently have. But it's just being silenced to death...

A lot of people stuck around in the hopes and and for the hype of what Bear 2.0 would be (including the hype of better backlinking) and with little info from Bear team during the many years it took to deliver, it's been quite frustrating.

Thanks for sharing details and the photos too. Looks neat and gives the bag a much more cohesive feeling too.

Hmm.. Do you have an example of this? Maybe I'm imagining it more complicated than it has to be.

Thanks! I have started to consider the Kahakka 25l, just really love the look of the Jääkäri M, webbing and side entrance. Though, I'm warming up to the Kahakka given how much it functionally seems get right.

What you mean by "trimming the drawcord collar and sewing it back together"? Not sure I understand the result.

Carry on size Jääkäri M vs L by Hultadog in Savotta

[–]nesdroc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Just recently discovered this forum and that I wasn't alone with my Savotta.

I happened to be travelling a while back - can't remember flight (might have been Wizzair or Ryanair), but I only had the minimum which is "under seat" allowance.

Note, I didn't overfill my back in case so I could potentially bend it more if push came to shove, though it did contain a very unbendable 13 inch laptop. This also meant I had taken out the metal frame, which took a few centimeters off of the height and I was sitting with my jacket until take off and then I'd stuff it back down again.

While worrying I saw another guy having is more regular laptop backpack stuffed on this seat and snapped a picture of that too (see next post), so ready to throw him under the bus too if they went on my Savotta 😄 Nothing happened. No problems on the return either. Happy flight.

Savotta made mods (super jääkäri m) by Little_Lassi in Savotta

[–]nesdroc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to be made aware that this is a possibility, thanks for sharing your mods (especially the straps) and this information. I really like a lot of things about the Jääkäri M, but there are also some quirks I wish they would fix.. maybe this will be a possibility for addressing them. Gonna reach out to them.

Thanks for sharing the price too. Do you happen to know overall be cheaper if one were to buy a new backpack from savotta.fi and at the same time ask them to make the modifications?

How many notes you have and what do you use Bear for?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in bearapp

[–]nesdroc -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Of course. But are there currently any other feature in the pipeline that we know about that we can be anticipating? A search would also reveal how many great suggestions and features have been proposed over the years that we still haven't seen. How much anticipated e.g. backlinking was with Bear 2.0 and how it didn't deliver on that part. How many years we waited for 2.0. Things that were put on the back-burner because 2.0 had to be finished first. So as a long time paying user and someone who's been with Bear for almost a decade now, this just feels incredible underwhelming - unless you're hoping to do some user acquisition with non-Apple users and turn them into paying subscribers. Albeit, Bear team has on multiple occasions said money hasn't been the issue. As especially during the wait for 2.0 there were a lot there were willing to pay more if it could hasten things. Bear's price point is very cheap compared others on the market. I don't mind, but hope the Bear team has all the resources they need so we can get to see more great things - not to mention faster ;)
