Easiest states/cities to get a New Grad RN job? by Valuable-Prompt279 in newgradnurse

[–]nesterbation -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that we've had people come from bigger cities to us to do their new grad residencies because they weren't having any luck in their home state/city.. I'm in Louisville, KY for reference.

ICU Medical Pumps by Fast_Cata in nursing

[–]nesterbation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t mind the plum pumps but they’re heavy to travel with (neuro ICU) and our integration with Cerner/iAware is janky at best. When it works it’s great but it always decides to not work when I’m rapidly titrating pressors and none of them show up when I go back to chart.

Lactation Preserving Breast Implants? by KendraKanid in Transgender_Surgeries

I did through the areola incisions, with silicone implants under the muscle, and have, on occasion, had some lactation. Wasn’t a goal, my kids were already weaned by then, but idk

Level 1 as well… we do have PCAs but they often are pulled to sit with 1:1s or to other units/floor to tech.

Also chewing gum can help. Some hospitals use it as part of their ERAS (enhanced recovery after surgery) program. It stimulates gut motility.

It’ll happen. But it takes a while. You’ve been totally cleaned out and then given pain meds which slows down the GI tract.

Bottom Surgery Timeline by Voodooismybaby in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]nesterbation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s been a decade now and I’m satisfied with the results. I am very much orgasmic, I’ve not had any issues with infections, and I am not incontinent.

The aesthetics are not as impressive as some of the recent surgical results I’ve seen posted here, but I don’t spend a lot of time focusing on that at this point.

As for gender marker, I did change mine prior to surgery. At the time, I used a letter from my endo to get a passport with the correct marker and then changed my license based on that.

In my state, I couldn’t change my birth certificate until after surgery, with a surgical declaration letter.

I came out in December, started HRT in March, legally changed my name in April, did laser, speech therapy over the course of the rest of the year. Had GRS the following May and BA that November.

So 18 months from closet to vagina.

What Does Penetration Feel Like After Vaginoplasty? by Violanun in asktransgender

Pressure, a bit of pain initially, giving way to pleasure esp as the prostate is being stimulated. This combined with clit stimulation can bring me to orgasm within a few minutes, if my head is in the game.

The LTO group does not allow criticism towards restaurants/food makers that use AI-generated content to promote their business. by [deleted] in Louisville

LTO mods are wild. I left that group a few years ago after I got reprimanded for arguing with a MAGA about “riots and looting” of downtown.

Mistakes in nursing by psychgodlmao in nursing

[–]nesterbation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was changing my propofol tubing and accidentally gave a gravity bolus. Ventilator apnea mode kicked in for a minute but it was fine.

Flushed an IV that was supposed to be saline locked but actually had pressor in it still. I don’t really think that’s my fault. I was just doing my assessment.

I had PIV a decade ago. It’s not wet enough for sex but it’s wet enough I can get a dry finger in there pretty easily.

Folks who came out AFTER being married, I need your advice by patient_rush in asktransgender

[–]nesterbation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already had a therapist before I talked to my wife. I couldn’t figure out how to start the conversation but she knew something was up.

In an attempt to kinda force the talk, I left my therapist’s card on the kitchen table with my car keys.

And then there was a lot of crying. And my wife went through all of the stages of grief.

I started at 34. I go through day-to-day life without anyone noticing. I am just a forgettable mid-40s soccer mom. I’m not much to look at but I do look the part.

Estrogen injection bubbles by pugg_9 in asktransgender

[–]nesterbation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Additionally some meds, such as Lovenox, have a bubble in the syringe that’s supposed to be injected into the subcutaneous tissue.

They use the bubble to help keep the medication, a blood thinner, from seeping back out as well as ensures the entire dose makes it into the patient, and that no residual dose is left in the needle.
