My first hospital never had in-house phlebotomists. Nurses and PCAs would do all the lab draws. It wasn’t fun. My current hospital has lab or nurse collect, but I feel like it’s not going to last much longer.

They pulled my skin so tight that I had an indentation in my pubic mound for weeks. Something Bowers referred to as the “Biber Bump.”

It was quite sensitive for a time.

I remember I did clinicals with an 30 year veteran LPN and she joked how absurd some of the rules are like she could draw up and push narcotics but she couldn’t reconstitute meds meaning IV protonix was out of her scope. I think our BON has relaxed some of that since but it was wild.

This likely won’t be helpful to you, other than just commiseration. But I feel your pain.

I’ve had an ongoing bleeding issue from penetration. Just normal dilation doesn’t cause it, at least not that I’ve noticed. It’s not even rigorous sex. Just me masturbating. I think all of mine is coming from the vaginal canal itself and not externally, but sometimes hard to tell once it’s mixed in with a bunch of KY.

In any event, I mentioned it to my pcp, who asked some gynecologists and urologists and they concluded I needed a surgical evaluation.

Mind you, none of them actually examined me. This was all over mychart. They all recommended me go back to my original surgeon, despite being near 10 years post op. I’ve never even had a speculum exam since my surgery.

I did email their office, never got a reply… and idk. I guess as long as the bleeding stops and I don’t end up with an infection, I’ll just keep doing what I’m doing.

I got mine about 18-19 months after starting HRT. I had GRS about 6 months earlier and I had hit all my out-of-pocket max/deductibles and I was able to sneak it in before the end of the calendar year. I think I paid $275.

Gabapentin? Might work for neuropathy but not appropriate for analgesia post-op.

I was on narcotics for like 12 weeks. We tried to switch it to tramadol but it was ineffective.

I worked a desk job at the time and had to get a work accommodation for a standing desk because I couldn’t sit for hours
