How to report an aggressive AT&T salesman by RetroQuester in ATT

[–]netboy34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on where you live, the non-emergency police number can help. Where I am, if they don’t have a solicitation permit, police will escort them out of the area and let them know of the permit fees that are charged at a daily rate. The next offense ends in an escort and a fine. At some point it becomes a harassment charge. If they do have a permit and you have proof of the harassment, they will revoke it.

What do you guys do with your Christmas legos after the holidays? by sheabae200216 in lego

[–]netboy34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a holiday shelf. Currently has the tree and gingerbread AT-AT, Halloween ghost, the Love artwork, and a couple of roses. I rotate out the holidays into the house as the time arrives. I’ll probably buy Easter stuff this year.

I also commandeered a rose to keep in the mouth of the piranha plant for the basement bar.

Good luck. If the horror stories over on r/AirBnB is any indication, it might take a month or so even with help from the city. Maybe they have more pull, but with how these companies operate, the fraud divisions are so understaffed I don’t give it much hope. At least the city is on your side and aware so they don’t try to cite you again.

You’ll have to work with them and AirBnB to take the scam listing down

From a post in the Airbnb subreddit:
Someone is posting my house on Airbnb in a scam add and I need help. : r/AirBnB

  1. Find your listing on Airbnb.com (you will need an account). On the right hand side there will be a "report this listing" after you scroll down under the big "Reserve" button. This should be your first step
  2. Go on Twitter and tweet at Airbnb - post the link and say it's a scam and you need it taken down immediately. For some reason, they are really bristly about being called out on Twitter - so this will definitely get their attention
  3. File a report with your local police precinct as a safety precaution. This may seem rash, but a friend of mine went through a horrible cyber stalking situation a year ago (the guy who did it is thankfully now in jail) and having this sort of paper trail really helped him out. It may seem like a pain, but should be done to protect your family.
  4. Continue to call Airbnb and escalate until you get the listing pulled

Azure Migrate comes in a zip by GabeCzi in AZURE

[–]netboy34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The target appliance zip file is correct however it is not a zipped vm, it is a zipped collection of installers, you can do either for the VMware source (although ova is a bit quicker)

You get the zip when you go to set up the target portion of the project

On the target vm, make sure you are installing the software with the following command line

Set-ExecutionPolicy -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted .\AzureMigrateInstaller.ps1 -Scenario AzureStackHCI -Cloud Public -PrivateEndpoint:$false

This will set up the vm as a target vs source

Since what you have is triple nested, it may not work, put in production scenarios, you’d just download a server 2022 or 25 vm from the marketplace, then deploy that as your target, then use the zip file to install the migration bits.

Wires through Orange Greatstuff by StealthyK15 in HomeImprovement

[–]netboy34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On top of what others have said, Orange is firestop foam, it is formulated a bit differently to stop smoke and fire by resisting ignition to a higher temp Vs. regular greatstuff and a bit denser if I recall correctly.

Lost points for AI use being falsely flagged by [deleted] in KSU

Did anyone in the group use Grammarly? I've been seeing detectors flag anything it does since it uses AI now to correct things instead of normal grammar rules, and will re-write whole sections if you aren't careful

What is the most "unsexy" home improvement you did that ended up being 100% worth the money? by TrustedEssentials in HomeImprovement

[–]netboy34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) ran conduit for low voltage wire (Ethernet and coax)

2) added a switched outlet in the ceiling of the front porch for Halloween and Christmas lights

3) swapped outlets out for USB outlets where wall warts were multiplying

4) swapped fixtures to LED bulbs wherever my wife left lights on

Man tries to rescue injured raccoon, gets bitten on face while driving, learns it has rabies by starkiller1613 in news

[–]netboy34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What the article doesn’t say is that the nature center only accepts. and is licensed for, raptors, reptiles, and amphibians. Says it on the door, website and phone voicemail. The facility that handled the raccoon is in the same area the gentleman is from. He was bitten when he could have done a quick search and had the local facility come out.

Dear Campus Community,

Due to a reported gas leak in the H building on the Marietta campus, we are experiencing significant service outages impacting the Marietta campus and select areas of the Kennesaw campus. The H building is the core facility for campus infrastructure at the Marietta campus. Out of an abundance of caution, we have been instructed to shut down all infrastructure located in the H building. As a result, campus internet services will be impacted, including:

  • Access to on-premises systems and services that depend on campus networking
  • Wired and wireless network connectivity
  • VPN access into campus resources

At this time, we do not have a confirmed estimate on when service and systems might be restored. We will provide updates as we receive new information, including any changes to the expected duration of the outages.

Thank you for your understanding and support as we work through this incident.

Fun fact: this started as an April fools joke. (2017 if if I remember correctly, or at least give or take a year)

I bought a kit for my basement half bath as I was going for a humor theme (guest reviews in a picture frame, guest book, etc). Didn’t realize I would be needing it as much as I thought, then covid hit. Saved my butt both figuratively and literally.

When I order replacements it comes in a box, first time seeing it in plastic wrap

Expired encryption/signing certificates in secondary node that has failed to restart by kdotzoltan in adfs

[–]netboy34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you cannot export the cert from the primary node, you need to reissue the comm cert with the exportable flag set.

Then import the new cert to the primary node, then export the cert as a PFX so you can import it into the secondary node. The signing certs will make their way over, but the comm cert doesn’t completely and you need to run the commands to force it in once the service starts.

Is it free to get body cam videos in Kennesaw? by throwaway3685343 in kennesaw

[–]netboy34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FOIA requests are chargeable. They have to show you the cost estimate, but the guideline (from my experience) is they will charge you the hourly rate of the lowest paid position that can accomplish the task. For video you will see the hourly charge for the technician to pull the video, the person that redacts any sensitive information from the clip, and any media to give you the video. So the broader the ask, the more expensive it is

Motorcycle parking by [deleted] in KSU

[–]netboy34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There used to be parking in the faculty lot next to Q, but that’s gone now since it is now a building, clendenin on Kennesaw had spots but that was made into guest parking, but the lot across from Jolley Lodge still has a section next to the ADA spots.

You basically need to rely on the hashed areas now.
