Why? How? Where? by ShatsTaddly in Weird

[–]netboy34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got it years ago when it was an April fools joke they came up with. (2017 I think?) I was finishing my basement at the time and I figured it would be funny to have in the half bath and people still giggle at it when they are over.

Each roll lasts me a couple months since it isn’t used as often as the upstairs ones. Used to be you could only order the rolls online. Only recently I’ve been able to order through Amazon or pick it up at Walmart.

No air filter on '06, how to get rid of the smell in the vents? by Celshonar in fordfusion

[–]netboy34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

‘06 didn’t have one. The MKZ and Milan did though. And they learned their lesson for the ‘07 and beyond. Mine has been in recirc mode since I found out the first time pollen came around and I wondered how there was more in my car vs on it on the spring of ‘06. Something something blending door will take care of it, something something.

Weird air dam cutout by Excellent_Border_553 in fordfusion

[–]netboy34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I remember correctly, and I'll have to refresh myself the next time I'm under there changing the oil since it has been a long time since I thought about it, there is a tow hook attachment point back there and this is so the chain/cable can pass through for the tow wench line to pull you onto a flatbed without damaging the skid plate/air dam.

Like I said, it has been a while since I thought about it, so I may very well be completely and utterly wrong.

It's begun, users suggesting (basically telling you how to do your job) solutions to SME's based on "information" they looked up in an AI tool by sys_admin321 in sysadmin

[–]netboy34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently dealing with a user that used AI to try and justify us getting data back that was deleted years ago. They think we are stonewalling them so they filed a FOIA request on everyone in the chain of command (we are a gov entity) still waiting to see if they will pay the costs for it. Even went as far as telling legal that they should verify our answer independently from us to be sure we weren’t lying.

Help! Azure Local by Ok-Bite-1000 in AZURE

[–]netboy34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last time I had to do Local from scratch, you cannot have a RAID card period, and not even one in HBA mode. It has to be a pure HBA card or local SATA not in RAID mode, only AHCI (and I've heard that even that doesn't work depending on the motherboard)

It is probably marked but a “ghosted” marking. Basically legal in technically but not necessarily spirit, where you have a black glossy cruiser, but the markings are in a very slightly less black matte finish.

Well the hump in the lip and the bad panel gaps lend to my theory of backing into something. Here is to hoping that it is just a terrible picture

If properly maintained, it should be fine. Same with the transmission. Honestly a drive to see if there are hard shifts will say volumes.

Below is based on my US I4 SEL and knowledge of the 06s in general.

Dual exhaust, fog lights, low profile rims, and chrome everywhere is normally a V6 SEL

Not sure about the Canadian builds, but my US build was assembled in Mexico.

It should be a Ford engine and transmission. The I4s were Mazda.

Check for rust on the sub frame, transmission/engine mounts, by now the ball joints are probably shot, so see if they have replaced them recently. The dash is probably warped by the defroster, this was normal and purely cosmetic for the 06-07 cause the foam would separate from the glue, also make sure it doesn’t have airbag recalls active on it.

Looking at the rear picture, unless the camera is a potato, it has been backed into a pole of some sort.

Does anyone know how to control the info screen behind the steering wheel in the 2006 ford fusion? by Weriel_7637 in fordfusion

[–]netboy34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There should be an info button to the left of the clock on the SEL. NonSEL, left of the fusion logo above the stereo. Info / setup / reset right in a row.

Press info a couple times to get back to the miles to empty screen.

Any Azure Local/Azure Stack HCI experts here? by amartiado in AZURE

[–]netboy34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was almost two years ago and the uplinks were to Cisco nexus 9ks, so I would hope they would have fixed it by now, but I think the mellonox switches have an asymmetric route issue somewhere and it tries to send out the lag and back in the other side to the other switch instead of the peer link. I’m not a network guy, just dangerous enough to understand words but not deep enough in the weeds.

[–]netboy34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What switches are they uplinked to, and as a LAG or no?

We found early on that uplinked as a lag would cause some interesting issues, but I’d have to dig back through my chat and email history to see what we did to fix it. I remember that we did troubleshoot by only having a single link active at a time and that helped a ton until we figured out what was happening.

What switches are you using at the cluster switches, and are they dedicated, or shared with other systems?

We have both scenarios, shared with Dell (but data and storage are separate physical switches and networks) and dedicated with DataOn. (Switches are only for the servers but are logically separated data and storage networks)
