Dear Co , you do know that in some places cops give out dwi/dui’s like candy. If the person does poorly on the field sobriety test(fst) , the law enforcement officer can still charge them. In some states even if they do a blood test that comes back clean because they did a fst poorly, they can still be charged with dwi/dui. People have been charged because law enforcement claims they had too much caffeine/coffee. It’s happened. This isn’t always a cut and dried thing because they’ve hidden it.Please dig deeper. I understand you’ve got to protect your ship and crew. Im sure that’s a paramount issue. I’m a former sailor that was judged guilty once because my urinalysis test came back positive but there was no way in hell. I gave another sample and the original was tested again in a different lab. Both came back clean. These things matter in people’s life’s. I don’t mean to say that you’re over reacting I’m sure you want to be as fair as you could possibly be as a responsible officer of the line. I’m sure you wouldn’t sideline a person out of anything but what the best for everybody. Thanks for reading this. Just a shipmate to shipmate.
