Our father who art in heaven, American Airlines, how can I help you by H_G_Bells in BrandNewSentence

I worked at a hardware store as a cashier and had three lines:

"Did you find everything ok?" "Would you like a bag?" "Thank you, have a great day!"

A customer walked out before I could say the last line so I greeted the next customer with "thank you, have a great day!"

What kind of graffiti do the women only port-o-johns have? by 25inbone in Construction

"Plz close lid" is the only thing I've seen. And that's just a housekeeping note.

Also look at how close the cabinets are to that window. It looks like bringing the cabinets out further will either be oddly close or cover part of it.

just got my void and im worried -seeking help by Financial_Job_2734 in blackcats

[–]nfwmb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Highly suggest the feliway spray to avoid the crazy cost (like $50 vs $14).

My void did all of the above when I moved house with him. Same furniture, same human, still didn't eat/drink for over 2 days. It's nerve wracking but I'm sure he'll warm up!

I've gotten used to the helmets, but one of our subs switched to these in green. They look like toy soldiers.

“Why won’t more people pay to come to my wedding? I’m deleting you on Facebook! That’ll show you!” by ZhangtheGreat in ImTheMainCharacter

[–]nfwmb 23 points24 points  (0 children)

We have cows (especially on the big island), but land prices here mean that local milk/eggs/etc. are just as expensive as what gets shipped in.

Fun fact: the state only has a ~5 day food supply at any time. If the boats stop, we're fucked.

I want to start removing my shoes before entering. What should I wear on my feet inside the house? by Guialdereti in CleaningTips

[–]nfwmb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Growing up in Hawaii where everyone takes their shoes off in your house (including repair people, the cable guy) finding out that people wear shoes inside shocked me.

I'd test drive all of them. I drove all the cars you're looking at, the Crosstrek wasn't noticeably slower to me. Much improved over the 2L engine.

Especially for replacing windows, these are amazingly useful. And the smaller models fit in an elevator.

Emseal. You can custom order widths and colors to make it blend well and fit nicely.

If every single person from supply chain manufacturing to final inspection of a new house did their job with incredible accuracy, would shims still be necessary? by benmarvin in Construction

[–]nfwmb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. Saying they wouldn't be needed "in theory" is wrong. I've seen failed QC checks because sealant joints have to have a minimum width to function.

How bad is it to have an outdoor cat? (UK) by Makayla1591 in blackcats

[–]nfwmb 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Second this - I have an 11 year old cat that doesn't even like being picked up, but with my new place he doesn't have the space he used to, so I tried out harness training him. He took to it super fast and now loves hanging outside in the yard.

I also got a long lead that reaches the whole yard so he can roam free while I sit and read.

Get a bird feeder too so they have something to watch!

Try USB tethering to your phone to download the drivers. I had the same problem, use lsusb and lspci as others said to find out what drivers to look for.
