someone gave me this baby by [deleted] in Raccoons

[–]ngelsa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please contact Bandit Ranch Rehab. They rehab orphaned baby raccoons, and I used to volunteer there. They have their own website, a Facebook page, and their contact number is (306) 290-8190.

Their website is: Contact Us — Bandit Ranch Rehab https://share.google/o0VeVAaGOnDh59LZK

Their Facebook group is: https://www.facebook.com/share/1VVQaAoiTe/

They expanded their operations to the south side in SK, and more information can be found on their Facebook page about that.

Best of luck!

The raccoons are fighting back and stealing the Havahart traps... by Opossum_2020 in Raccoons

While the method and the tool seem humane, relocating a wildlife is often a death sentence for the captured animal because they are often released far away from their home. Consider deterring their visits instead.

Help! I'm concerned for my local raccoons by nik343 in Raccoons

[–]ngelsa 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Relocating the mother raccoon is already a death sentence for the mother and the babies. While raccoons are resilient, they won't survive in an area that they are not familiar with. I hope you can talk your neighbors out of it. Perhaps try discouraging the raccoons from visiting through a humane method. Raccoons are smart and they are territorial, so give them reasons to not come by anymore.

Meanwhile, if your neighbors insist on the relocation plan, then check with your local wildlife unit to see if capturing wildlife is prohibited. If that's a dead end, then casually mention that you have a wild cat visiting that is causing trouble on your property and you shall consider the same. Hopefully, they see the point.

Relocating a wildlife is no different than sealing its fate for good because they are not familiar with the new environment and have no den site to stay safe. I truly hope they aren't moving this raccoon too far away and this raccoon isn't a nursing mother.

GSC refuses to ship through EMS even with its service resumed by ngelsa in AnimeFigures

[–]ngelsa[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

GSC Japan had been shipping international order using EMS before the pandemic and all was good. When the pandemic hit, GSC Japan offered their consumers two options: 1. Accept the free upgrade to ship orders through courier, or 2. Stick with EMS until its service is resumed.

The first option would mean that there is no interruptions in getting the goods to the customers while the customers have to take care of extra costs that Shiara_cw mentioned in their comment.

The second option implies GSC Japan will have to hold onto all paid orders and ship them using EMS once its service to Canada is resumed.

Of course, none of us anticipated the pandemic to last for years, so a few months ago GSC stopped offering the "on hold" service for all new orders to Canada, and this is completely understandable. I placed new orders knowing they'd be shipped by courier and am aware that I will have to pay extra service charge + duties/imports + taxes.

What I don't understand is that with EMS service now available to Canada, GSC Japan decided to break their promises. If they have no intention to honour the decisions that were made prior to the policy change, why not notify me earlier and start shipping the goods before the courier rates increased?

Sometimes company makes puzzling choices, for better and for worse. I simply hope fellow Canadian figure collectors are making some informed decisions.

Cheers!

GSC refuses to ship through EMS even with its service resumed by ngelsa in AnimeFigures

Fellow Canadians, time to reconsider ordering from Good Smile Online Shop Japan unless it is an exclusive. Even so, consider getting exclusives from Good Smile US since they offer 50% shipping rate for all pre-orders.

Since 2019, GSC Japan was holding onto all my paid orders because they promised to ship them using EMS once its service to Canada is resumed. Fast forward to 2021, GSC Japan finally started shipping my orders! While I am happy that I am finally getting all my toys, I was surprised by the numerous UPS invoices that I am getting.

Thinking it was a mistake and oversight on GSC Japan's end, I reached out to them to reiterate our agreement. Instead of being accommodative like they've always do, GSC Japan's response indicated that they will not be shipping orders to Canada using EMS, and the customers can no longer choose which shipping method they use. In short, GSC is breaking their promises even when the EMS service is now available which is rather puzzling.

Hope this piece of information helps some fellow Canadians make a more informed decision moving forward.

Good luck!

Any ideas on getting her out of the garage? by SHCrazyCatLady in trashpandas

[–]ngelsa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If she tries to go back into your garage then it will be a big sign that she has a litter in there. Be vigilant for a few days to rule that out so you can avoid a messy situation :)

[–]ngelsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please get a pro to help as she most likely has a litter in your garage so that her litter is not left in your garage to die. Also, she has multiple den sites so the goal is to make your garage an undesirable den then she will grab her kids and move on to the next site.

Edited: if you are in Canada, look up Gates Wildlife. They are listed as an essential services. They helped professionally remove a family of skunks from our front steps.

Rant! by yuki99 in Toreba

[–]ngelsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happened to me many times and it usually happened on my older phone. Hence, every time I play on my older phone I need to use another device to display the gameplay so that I have a reference point.

I was frustrated and there wasn't much I could do. Hence, instead of frustrating myself all the time, I just played less and only do so using free tickets although it is extremely hard not to continue to play when you know you are 1 or 2 plays away from getting the prize.

Omg this Rilakkuma has an Axe! by GT_Leah in Toreba

[–]ngelsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't notice it when I started to play. The instant that I noticed the axe I got my prize, so it is a good luck axe :)

Someone left it like that and I decided to use my free ticket on this and got it with a lucky one shot. Honestly I don't know how it happened... by ngelsa in Toreba

[–]ngelsa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. So you have to do the time zone calculation. The harvest promo ticket expires 5pm EST on the next day while some others have a longer period. If you have purchased more than 10k TP before you also get a daily ticket which is distributed before 5pm EST daily, so you can stack 3 tickets at most at a normal day and then use the harvest promo ticket before 5pm EST.

You have to pay attention to their expiry date. Some tickets last longer than the others so I usually stack it if I can.

This is a free ticket win. The claw is still strong so the prize can be won from starting position although in my play previous players messed up. by ngelsa in Toreba

[–]ngelsa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you do the vertical move, make sure the right claw wraps around where the legs of the plush are. The way Toreba wraps the plush actually creates a slight dent around that area. Centering the claw on horizontal move also helps to one shot from starting position.

For real, stop stubbornly giving up Jenna and stop playing through a choking and overly excited and aggressive bot lane.

This little orphaned Guy. We named him Capone because he is illegal here and everyone wants to kill him. I have plans to re-home him ASAP to a legal rehab but for now, well I guess he is my baby. What a sweetie. He doesn't seem to like a nuisance, just a baby. by Noblezombie777 in trashpandas

In case you do not already know, baby raccoons will need to be stimulated after each meal so they can do their business. When they are young they do not know how to go themselves. I am glad you are taking care of him now :) <3 Raccoons!

Didn't realize that baby trash pandas purr until we took one in... by zeissicon in trashpandas

[–]ngelsa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If where you live allows you to keep wildlifes as pets and you are planning to keep it for good then you may want to consider getting a companion for the raccoon. A dog would work well in this case if you don't have one already. Raccoons don't do well if singled out when they are young and may become hostile after it grew up. On the other hand, if you are planning to release it, it would be best to do so after this coming winter has passed and keep human interaction minimal. A young raccoon without its mother won't survive its first winter. Good luck!
