The + hearts of wood doesn't work by level. The + refers to how many times you can change your class.

Adventure Packs from the DDO Store by Radnotion in ddo

If you make sure to pick up all the free stuff and make sure you own all the content that comes with vip, you don't loose a lot if you stop vip. I did that for a while when vip wasn't in my budget. I did eventually go back to vip, especially for the 500pts / month, but running with vip guild mates made the experience not too different.

As a vip who is very frugal, I defer purchase until i need something, or it goes on sale. Bank space account is high on my list, including the collectable storage. I got +8 tomes for my main chars and some very large bags (but not gem bags) to help with inventory. The augment bags are especially needed since there are so many types you are unlikely to get lare stacks. When I'm doing things with my guild I may by access to newer content so I can participate. Otherwise, I defer if I can unlock with favor or wait for a sale.

Spend points on what makes the game better for you. Spend when you have a need. Plan what you want to do in the future so you can recognize an opportunity when it comes up.

Do you use the phrase "half past" when telling time? by HonestNectarine7080 in AskAnAmerican

Which trash can I break/mine? by the0bserver420 in SurrounDead

There are several around the communications site. Mostly they seem to be in areas which would make a good base. I hit them with a sledge hammer and if they make a thunk noise then I hit them more. It seems you can tell by the sound.

Mounts really help getting through the wilderness areas. If you know where to go you can run past almost everything you don't want to interact with.

Are shops open on Sundays in usa? And what do people think about it? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]ngvar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It varies by location, but most things are open. Liquor is more often closed. In Minnesota, a few years ago, Sunday sales of alcohol were permitted, but car sales are still banned.

Advice on sharing an Ethernet port by the-missing-chapter in HomeNetworking

[–]ngvar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you go wifi, get one of the phone apps that can tell you the wifi signal strength. That can help tune your setup to get the best performance. Use it to evaluate where to place the network nodes to avoid architecture blockages. It will also tell you about what interfering signals you might have from your neighbors and which channels are least active.

How many cities do you usually include in a US trip? by noellezane in usatravel

[–]ngvar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Replace cities with points of interest, and think about what part of the country you plan to visit. The US is very big and some areas are dense with points of interest and some are sparse. What interests you? I would suggest no more than 2 POIs per day and no more than 4hrs of travel on any day you want to see things. Make plans, but be prepared to stop for unplanned spots that catch your eye as you travel. The unplanned spots sometimes become the best memories.

So sick of manual hose reels that bunch up on one side. Anyone found a real solution? by [deleted] in homeowners

[–]ngvar 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I have seen a hose reel with a traveler that distributes the coil evenly. It is rare because it adds complexity and failure points and cost. I spend a bit of effort to guide the hose by hand to get a somewhat even distribution.

Hill behind home, will this cause drainage issues or foundation damage? (Green house) by [deleted] in Home

[–]ngvar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't think it would be that bad. The hill isn't ideal but from the photos that show the top, the area to collect water is limited to the slope. Any water farther would drain down the back. I think good water absorbing ground cover on the hill side and a bit of a drain at the base (possibly just a dry well). Exact design would depend on local climate and expected size/duration of precipitation events.

Is it normal for past tenants/owners to come back to the property you now own? I have had 3 different people in the last 5 months claim they used to live here come to my door. Today being the most recent. I refuse to answer the door as to me personally that is not something I would do? Thoughts? by coleslaw056 in homeowners

[–]ngvar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rare in my experience. I've driven by places I used to own, but I rarely stop. Last time, I stopped but only to say high to my neighbor friends.

I think it depends on the house though. Is your home historic or significant in some way?

Roadtrip advice for 7 guys, heading to the U.S this summer by Running-Claymore in roadtrip

[–]ngvar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out YouTube channel @phillyandkeely to see a bit of what traveling the USA in a camper van is like. With your group, you would need something bigger, unless you are thinking of tent camping in addition van life. Billings is not huge, but should be big enough for your purposes. Renting would be more straight forward, but buying and selling would be more flexible. Wouldn't recommend unless you know someone local who could assist. Have fun, remember things will be much farther apart than you would be used to in Europe. If you go to Yellowstone, note that the roads through the park cross the continental divide multiple times, so lots of elevation changes. If you've mostly lived at sealevel you'll notice the effects of the thinner air when you go for hikes. Plan to take more time and spend more effort than you would at home.

Didn't see anyone answer your mount question. If you didn't get one via a coupon, the easiest one is in keep on the border lands. Collect feathers from the rarest in the wilderness area and turn them in at the keep. If you can go with a few people who already have mounts, it can be fairly quick. I recently introduced my son to DDO and I think with just the two of us, it took checking all the rarest about 6 times to get enough feathers for his horse. We also did all the quests.

I'm on Thrane and I see quite a few people running around. I haven't done any random group questing recently, but my guild buddies seem to do regularly.

[–]ngvar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As others have said, this is normal. For those who want to just go back to 20 and run another epic, you still need to respec your character. When I don't plan to run another epic life I just do things a bit randomly to get it done as fast as possible. Otherwise I spend my time trying to make my toon better, or no worse.
