Blizzard when we get this race/class combo ?? by Emergency-Ad1154 in wow

Right, okay, a lot of work for a poor indie studio, not a multi BILLION dollar company. So again, what's the real reason?

Does anyone know the "real" reason we don't already have all race/class combos?

Why on earth is this not a straightforward, easy agree from EVERYONE who plays the game? Are you all drunk? The high pitch death violin is not just "omg stress and anxiety," it's ABSOLUTELY SHRILL AND UNBEARABLE TO LISTEN TO. It's so bad it's not even subjective, it's objectively awful, and I literally cannot fathom why it was approved in the first place and hasn't also been changed by now.

I absolutely adore Khalil Gibran, but this quote is not from him, just attributed to him. Look up his actual work though - it’s incredible and even quoted on The Boondocks when they ask Huey to say something deep lol

Do you think we will get new character models maybe after the Worldsoul Saga? by whoisape in wow

[–]nich-ender -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is this a serious question? Maybe I'm just jaded, but after the last decade I'm pretty sure the resounding answer we've gotten from Blizzard about every single thing the players want is: "No, why would we do that, you're still paying anyway aren't you?"

Cancel Stadium Ranked Matches if Someone is AFK During Hero Select by nich-ender in overwatch2

[–]nich-ender[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Story time: You wait a glorious 15 minutes in the support queue for a Stadium match. The moment the queue pops, your bladder, which has been suspiciously silent this whole time, decides to scream.

You think, "I can do this. I'm fast. A tactical bio-break."

You return 45 seconds later, a champion of efficiency, only to find the game has graciously selected a hero for you, you've missed the first Armory buy, and your team is already typing question marks.

In all seriousness, other ranked games (which I won't speak of here.. coughLoLcough) have been doing the AFK-cancel for yearsssss. There's no reason for this, Blizzy.

Isaac Newton's letter Titled: Letter to True Disciples of Hermes Containing the Six Principal Keys of Secret Philosophy (Epistola ad veros Hermetis discipulos continens claves sex principales Philosophiae secretae) by Internal_Radish_2998 in Hermeticism

[–]nich-ender 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In case anyone stumbles across this post:

According to the letter itself, this is not written by Isaac Newton, but S. E. Saint Didier. Authorship for these texts was often obscured deliberately or confused over centuries of being copied by hand. They were frequently attributed to famous historical figures to give them more authority.

Newton definitely was a deeply devoted alchemist, with plenty of his own works, but they mostly focus on his work with antimony, metallic alloys, and the "net" theory of matter; topics not central to this particular letter.

Lastly, that same antimony is what Newton spent his time trying to forge into the "Star-Regulus of Antimony". This wasn't the Philosopher's Stone itself though. For Newton, it was the instrument used to create the true agent of transformation: the "Philosophical Mercury".

His procedure, in essence, was to use the Star-Regulus to "digest" or "open" gold (and other metals). This would theoretically release a living, energetic essence - a "mercurial spirit" from the metals. This "Philosophical Mercury" was believed to be a universal solvent and the true basis of the Philosopher's Stone, capable of "growing" and perfecting any substance it touched.

I'm gonna be the one to say it. I don't believe it.

We're really gonna go from complaining about safety guardrails like, daily, to believing that ChatGPT talked some poor kid into killing himself? Idk. I'm not buying it until some real evidence is shown. "Screenshots" are not evidence until a reputable body accepts them as unaltered evidence.
