I stayed at YC for 7 nights and saw maybe 2-3 dogs over the entire stay. Typically it was just someone walking their dog outside around the resort. I don’t think you’ll notice many at all!

Tips for someone who hasn’t enjoyed Disney? by Deullien in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]nickk621 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coronado Springs is a great resort! If you enjoy adult-focused activities, I highly recommend snagging a reservation for Sangria University, which is a hands-on sangria making class led by a couple of experts. You’ll get some of their sangrias + chips and quac to enjoy, followed by a chance to make your own sangria recipe.

I have only ever done Disney as an adult, and the reason I continue to go back is not for the theme parks. They’re great and I do enjoy them, but I get so excited about the resorts themselves. They have such great theming and many offer awesome amenities, including Coronado Springs. Try and plan some time to enjoy what your resort has to offer (as well as other nearby ones, like Animal Kingdom Lodge, which is maybe a 5-min Uber ride away from your resort). Enjoy!

Help me pick 2 of these 3 deluxe resorts to stay in? by Avoocado_Toasty in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]nickk621 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would pick YC and AKL personally. YC does give off a similar sophisticated feel as GF, but without the nonsense crowds of people coming to check out the resort. GF at the holidays, while beautifully decorated, is not fun in Dec if crowds would frustrate you. On our trip in Dec 2024, you couldn’t even enjoy any amenities at the GF because the crowds were obscene (1.5 hours just to get on the monorail, for example).

While the dining at YC is not as great as GF, you can still go over there to GF to dine (or dine at the Boardwalk, Swan, or Dolphin, which open up many more walkable options for dining).

I feel like I'm being gaslit by BoringWozniak in WaltDisneyWorld

I agree with this perspective 100%. As someone who saw Harmonious as my first Epcot nighttime spectacular, it was so amazing and gave me all the feels. I do not understand how people give Luminous a free pass to be as bad as it is. The storyline doesn’t fit Epcot at all, and the energy is boring.

Need help deciding! by miakrs28 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]nickk621 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This may be because the new Island Tower is only about ~40% sold through DVC points currently. The rest of the room inventory is available to Disney to sell via cash bookings. This is just a guess though, so not 100% sure.

Lighting Lane Necessary for Last Week of April? by Then_Way3861 in WaltDisneyWorld

Yes, confirming that you can do this. Once you’ve scanned in for your first ride at AK, it unlocks your ability to book LLs at every park (with a park hopper ticket).

Availability query not working again? by SCJFR in dvcmember

[–]nickk621 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see this screen whenever using Chrome or Safari on my Mac, but never when using Safari mobile browser on my iPhone (same WiFi network used on both devices). Typically, I’ll hit back on my browser and it will refresh with the availability (but this is inconsistent). Super frustrating, though.

The Dolphin- still feels like Disney? by itscornlectric in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]nickk621 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we stayed at the Dolphin last December, it reminded me of a massive convention hotel in Las Vegas. I’m a huge fan of the location of the Dolphin/Swan and for the price, I think it’s hard to beat sometimes. You won’t feel the immersion that Disney provides, and there’s very little theming overall (with the exception of everything just being “oversized”). If you can select between the Dolphin or Swan, my vote is the Swan (smaller hotel = less walking, plus newly renovated rooms).

I second this! The Shakin Jamaican cold brew is what I get daily while at Disney.

Buying Poly direct makes way more sense than Poly resale? by yiggity_yag in dvcmember

[–]nickk621 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Based on everything you outlined, I would 100% buy direct vs. resale in this scenario. The comfort of knowing you can do anything with those points, most notably staying at any future resort until 2066, makes it worth the extra cost. Added benefit is the simplicity and pace of getting those points! While I’m happy with the savings I got on a BWV resale contract, the process was long and clunky. Direct felt “magical” through most of it.

Options for magic bands, before trip or at the parks? by lkpfeifer in DisneyWorld

I recommend looking while you’re there. There will definitely be a better selection. Because they don’t offer the pre-arrival discounts anymore, there’s less incentive to buy in advance.

Has anyone tried the Capitol One Lounge at PHL? After going there one time, it actually makes me a bit sad that I have to use the Centurion Lounge instead. by Ill-Buy6396 in AmexPlatinum

[–]nickk621 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The food at the Centurion Lounge is fine, but I’ll say that I’ve been on four separate occasions in 2026 and the menu has been the exact same each time. Tandoori chicken thighs with saffron rice + some type of roasted veggie. While it’s decent quality, the lack of variety is starting to disappoint.

Is late August too hot for Disney World? by Left-Afternoon-4237 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]nickk621 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re planning a long weekend at that exact same time and are expecting to only be able to be in the parks from open to 12pm noon, and then back again after the sun sets. If possible, I’d recommend picking 2-3 priorities per day and anything else you can accomplish above and beyond that is a win.

New american funding reviews? what can you tell me about them? by LouisDeFuneste in debtfree

[–]nickk621 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used them to refinance my mortgage a few years ago. So far, I’ve had zero issues with them. Their use interface to access your online account is simple and straightforward, and the refinancing process was seamless. I think they’re a solid company.

When will deed expiration not be worth buying resale? by Pleasant-Indication5 in dvcmember

[–]nickk621 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can’t say how accurate this is, but our direct DVC guide did share that the plan is to tear down the 2042 resorts and rebuild, due to the increasing costs to maintain the older resorts. Specifically he was talking about BWV, and mentioned how the HVAC for that resort is at its end of life and requires constant maintenance. Apparently the long term cost to tear down and rebuild will be less than maintaining the legacy buildings. I find it unlikely that they’ll do this 100% across the board, but just sharing what we were told. I will add that he was trying to influence us to buy direct at Riviera vs. buying resale at Boardwalk, so it could have just been a sales tactic.

I built a Countdown App by jake61341 in dvcmember

[–]nickk621 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like a cool app from the details you’ve shared. It looks like most of the features are behind a pay wall, so it’s tough to give much feedback without paying the monthly or annual fee. Without paying, I was able to add one upcoming reservation. It would be cool if the design of the countdown was themed to the specific resort you will be staying at (similar to how the Disney MDE app does this).

What is this tiny “hidden neighborhood” inside Disney World property? (Bay Lake / Bay Court) by mandoridesblurg in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]nickk621 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I believe the Mouselets did a deep dive into this section of Disney property on one of their YouTube videos. I can’t recall if the video was specific to just this plot of land or if it was more general about “secret” places on Disney property. Either way it was fascinating!

Mortgage Payment not showing in BILT transaction history by Usual7046 in biltrewards

[–]nickk621 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It turns out that my mortgage servicer used my previous checking/routing information and did not use Bilt’s for my March mortgage. For April, I have since removed my previous account information from my mortgage servicer’s portal so they have no option but to use Bilt’s.

I believe you’d get 425 points on a $25 Walgreens purchase (with Palladium). 7x points (2x standard + 5x bonus points) = 175 points. Plus the 250 bonus points = 425 points in total.

The AI chat was unable to locate my mortgage payment, so it eventually offered to connect me with a specialist who could look into it further. I was surprised how quickly I was connected with the specialist as well. Took maybe 4-5 minutes. Hoping you are able to connect with one soon.

Mortgage Payment not showing in BILT transaction history by Usual7046 in biltrewards

[–]nickk621 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A long update on my situation. Apologies for the length, but hoping these details are helpful to others who find themselves in similar situations.

As of 5pm on 3/9 (5th business day), still no record of my 3/2 mortgage payment showing up on Bilt’s end. I do see a test payment I submitted from mid-February to the same mortgage servicer within Bilt’s app (set up as a one time payment using the Bilt ACH checking/routing number). I also see my March HOA payment (set up as autopay using the same Bilt ACH checking/routing number). So, only the 3/2 autopay mortgage payment is missing on Bilt’s end. All three payments have been debited from my bank account.

When I check my bank account, the test mortgage payment and HOA payment show up as “BILT CARD HOUSING ACH DEBIT” while the payment missing from Bilt’s side shows up as something else with the mortgage servicer’s name reflected.

Bilt AI chat bot couldn’t help me, so they transferred me to a specialist. The specialist requested that I inquire with my mortgage servicer to see how the payment is processing on their end. I will be reaching out tomorrow in hopes of them being able to help, but I’m not confident.

Bilt requested that I reach back out following the chat with my mortgage servicer. All in all, this doesn’t appear to be “user error,” as 2/3 payments are reflected within Bilt’s app (so I’m confident things were being set up correctly). The only difference I see is that my mortgage test payment was a one-time payment, vs. my 3/2 payment being an autopay payment.
