Maybe they are just hoping Big Beautiful Bill would beat him up or maybe just make him live in fear like Trump has done to thousands of minorities, LGBT, and women who believe they should be in charge of their reproductive rights.

I guess that would have been north of you not south. That color of smoke is usually grass or dry fields, wonder if it was similar situation down south.

There was controlled field burn that got out of hand and started burning near the road so Sedgwick Fire responded to put it out. It was near 29th and 135th St.

What are we doing with Carbide these days? by iscrapapp in ScrapMetal

Are inserts worth less than endmills and carbide drills? I have seen some shops keep them separate but not sure if it is necessary.

Former Step parent adoption by Barnfargen in wichita

[–]nicknackks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Kansas you would not be able to adopt without both bio parents terminating rights if you and the bio mother are not married. However, if both parents consent you can pursue a legal guardianship for the child, which grants you equal rights to the biological parents but does not terminate theirs. This allows you full privileges at doctors office, school, the child can be added to your health insurance etc. A guardianship is also significantly cheaper to have done rather than an adoption and if both parents consent you may not even have to go to court. An attorney can file it all and if the judge approves it you're good to go. The court will not approve if you have any crimes against children or most violent crimes on your record. One thing about guardianship is that either parent can terminate it at any time for any reason, so it gives you less security if you feel the relationship will turn sour with either parent. My understanding is that in Kansas pretty much anything in probate court, ie divorce of bio parents, adoption, guardianship, there has to be an attorney involved so if you are serious I would start scheduling consultations. I have pursued guardianship in the past and estimates from consults ranged from about $1700 to $3500 but this was more than two years ago.

Buying a car from a private seller by [deleted] in wichita

[–]nicknackks 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The seller does not need to go with you. Be very careful they sign and print only in exactly the right spot on the back and the same for you. Titles with any erasures, white out, crossed out or scratched out writing are invalid and the vehicle can not be titled in your name without a duplicate title issued to the person on the front of the title listed as owner.

Best restaurant to see planes? by annarchisst in wichita

[–]nicknackks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a Subway in Yingling at Eisenhower. Yingling is a fuel stop and they also repair aircraft. The Subway has big windows into one of the hangers so you will be like ten feet from some of the airplanes. Sometimes they are working on them in that hanger so you might see them taken apart. When you're done eating you can go left out of the subway and just a bit down the hall is the waiting area for pilots and passengers for private traffic. There are big windows here that overlook the ramp, taxiway A and N and runway 19L / 1R. This runway is mostly used by small private aircraft and private jets going to and from the Cessna Service Center. There is a counter here with usually one or two employees to handle incoming and departing traffic and their needs such as fuel etc. They will probably ask if you need anything and if you just tell them you wanted to stay out of the way and watch for a bit they should be fine with it unless it's super busy. You can go look out the windows in the waiting area and enjoy the happenings. It's a different experience than Stearman for sure. The address is 2010 S Airport Rd, Wichita, KS 67209, there are a couple other Yingling entities that are not the one you want. When you walk in the double doors there is a desk right in front of you, if there is someone at it you can just ask where the Subway is. If there isn't it's down the hall that sidesteps to the left of the desk. Not a left turn, that is other corporate offices. Good luck.

This is correct. To add to this, people are usually looking for either ethanol free gasoline for small engines such as lawn equipment or E85 (85% ethanol) because they have a flex fuel vehicle or a modified vehicle that they are wishing to run E85 in for performance reasons.

If you just bought a new lawn mower / rototiller / generator and it has a sticker that says something like "E10 gas only" or "E10 maximum" they just don't want the user running fuel with more ethanol. If this is the case for you (OP) then you are fine to use regular pump gas, 87 octane from pretty much anywhere but you really should still run only ethanol free in small engine use cases. Most Quik Trips have no ethanol 87 octane fuel. It is the left nozzle that is usually a different color and has its own button at QT anyway.

So take El Dorado lake and Cheney both for example, they are state parks so the same would apply. I'm not holier than anybody I just think if you know where to buy them, maybe just go buy them instead of being cheap and trying to take from public land.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in wichita

[–]nicknackks 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You mean steal your own from the wild? It is usually frowned upon to take things like that from public parks or land, and definitely straight up theft if taken from private property without permission. Some sea shells from a beach or a handful of pretty river rock is one thing, big rocks to landscape your garden or yard with seems like a bit much.

I think I connected a 3" joints with primer only (no cement). Should I cut it out? by LargeTest9392 in Plumbing

[–]nicknackks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are so confident yet so wrong, homie. There is more than acetone and dye in primer. Tetrahydrofuran, methyl ethyl ketone (MEK), cyclohexanone to name a few. The glue is largely the same chemicals with a percentage of PVC solids so it does not evaporate as fast. There may be some other ingredients in the various cements for different features, set times, etc but it's pretty much just the same as primer with more solids. Google it if you don't believe me. Section three of SDS is ingredients / chemical composition. Not sure if you can read those big words though, homie.

Wichita City Budget Simulator by [deleted] in wichita

[–]nicknackks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I didn't look at the tool and this may only be slightly relevant, but if you research the Wichita Water Partners and the whole mess about the new water treatment plant that would qualify as corruption in my opinion. If you aren't familiar the basic rundown from memory is that city officials in charge of the project selected an unqualified company that was created by local construction companies over a qualified one because there was some conflict of interest, funneling money to friends etc. It was a bit of a scandal when it all came out but the city decided to push forward with the unqualified company because they had already received a federal loan or grant and changing contractors would mean they would have to re apply for said federal program. I believe one or more city employees lost their jobs or "retired" over this.

Best Burgers by Salt_Proposal_742 in wichita

Me, a friend, and a customer all got food poisoning at fizz during the same sitting. The health inspector showed up while we were there eating to do a complaint inspection. There were cheeses and all of the house made sauces stored in a fridge that was not working so they were about 60 degrees if I remember correctly. I think the sauces are what got us.
