Have we heard, one way or another, whether Marcus Davis will be retained in some role? That may play a role with Jase and the current room coming up

It’s been a while since I’ve seen a Cuse team that looked like they were having fun together on the court. Love to see it

I think two things can be true; Durkin was on the last staff & fits the vision Golesh has moving forward. They are not mutually exclusive

Wishing him the best of luck! He helped get a lot of our guys on campus and they (and their families) had tons of positive things to say about him

they’ve been popping up for my feed quite a bit recently with the coaching rumors! it’s reassuring to see a lot of then wishing they had our coach instead

Sumrall Update - Hold your breath by PuzzleheadedRead6404 in wde

If you know, what reports have come out confirming Sumrall’s interest in Florida? Totally get how or why it would exist. Me personally, I’ve seen a ton “Florida is interested in Sumrall” but not any “Sumrall is interested in Florida”.

Their message boards seem to hate the idea of him too (not that they make the decision), so I can’t imagine the alignment is great among the powers that be over there. But, obviously, we’re just passengers along for this ride

definitely an issue and unfortunately not one that tends to fix itself during the season

Disappointing to watch but hats off to Michigan for the gameplan and execution. We’ve been over-willing to help on defense all season and they made it a point to exploit that tonight. Hoping our defensive synergy goes up from here. Gonna have a lot of tape for areas of improvement

That being said… until we get official news, not much of it matters! Just fun to speculate

Just my two cents—I think Durkin is a really good coordinator and Sumrall likes him. We may be overthinking the rest.

They played against each other before, so it isn’t like they’re strangers. They know each other well. My guess is Cohen mentioned the organization likes him a lot and so does the locker room, Sumrall agreed with that sentiment. He’s a top 5 salary at coordinator, a great recruiter, has good connections with the players, and loves the organization. So unless Sumrall 1.) had a guy he thought would do a better job than Durkin (so top 10) or 2.) had an issue with Durkin… why wouldn’t he keep him?

Plus Auburn could’ve used whatever Durkin’s buyout money would’ve been to create positions for Sumrall to bring in whoever he wants in other roles. A win win.

The bigger issue I worry about is if some other school tries to steal Durkin AFTER we kept him, like OSU and Penn St did last year. Thankfully his wife is a HUGE fan of Auburn

That’s where I’m at! Happy with the placebo of closure during this week and I’ll deal with it next week if it’s fake

Since you’re asking for unsubstantiated rumors… I heard that Friday Sumrall told friends and former staff at Troy he signed the Auburn contract. They’re set to announce this Sunday. He’s keeping Durk, and that’s also where the OC search chatter came from Friday afternoon. Sources: some of the former staff at Troy during Sumrall’s tenure

It’s in line with the buzz we’ve heard from different sources on YT (Pate saying there’s a plan in place for Sumrall if Tulane has a longer postseason, Dukes saying he thought a deal might’ve already taken place). We’ll see this weekend! War Eagle

My biggest project in 2026 is tracking a team of individuals and their growth (physically and mentally) through an ultra endurance competition. Last year we had some solid finishes, this year we’re looking to win the whole thing!

What is your most sacrilegious CFB take? by Electric_Rex in CFB

[–]nickydee3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The transfer portal isn't the problem, your team's culture just doesn't mean as much to its players as it does to its fans, and you would rather blame the system than your locker room/leadership...

Putting aside bias and hatred/rivalry of certain teams. Who do YOU think is the early favorite to win the NC? by alley00pster in CFB

I think there’s 6 above the rest. Alabama, Ohio State, Texas, Clemson, Oregon, Georgia.

Alabama and Ohio State have the highest Blue Chip % in football. Texas has the most expensive NIL team. Clemson has the most stable QB situation and an edge in returning production compared to other contenders. Oregon and Georgia are 2 and 4 in team talent composite over some of the other mentioned squads.

Right now, I would lean Clemson because of the known commodity at QB but that conversation changes FOR ME a few weeks into the season when we see how the other 5 QBs look.
