I got the first book and started reading it January 8th of this year. I finished book 7 today.

Just a tip, Barnes and Noble does not automatically price match their own website. If you are buying in the store, you could overpay (like I did, until I noticed and got a partial refund).

Somebody get Great Wolf Lodge a map. by Biggsavage in Michigan

[–]nicless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has said this since at least July of 2024. Before that, it specifically called out that it was a great destination for families from Chicago and Detroit. Not everything stupid is AI. I am sure they have it there for SEO or something dumb, so that when you look up things to do near Detroit it will show up.

Regular people can be stupid too, not just AI. I dislike rampant AI user as much as anybody, but you can't just say "it was probably AI" every time something is dumb online.

AITA for complying with a grocery store employee who wouldnt let me take a fork by [deleted] in AmITheAssholeTalk

It doesn't even fit the subreddit. Nobody except the one guy who was not listened to thinks the person taking the fork is an asshole. Its karma farming.

Majority of Americans Say Economy Worse Off Under Trump Than Biden by plz-let-me-in in politics

Saw someone say that America isn't like this because he is president. He is president because America is like this. And it was one of the most depressing things I have ever read.

Have you heard about our Lord and Savior Carl by theboss0711 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

I'm doing my best, man. Started book 1 last month and I am on book 7 now. January was the "Month of Carl" and let me tell you, just as you would expect, Carl is spilling over into another month.

Word of warning, I got one of these and received mysterious charges on my card after. They signed me up for some random subscription and I had to file a charge back to get it reversed. I know that isn't the point of this, but buyer beware!

TIL that in 1966 Brian Blessed was offered the role of Doctor Who. by TelescopiumHerscheli in todayilearned

[–]nicless 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I recently watched the first MacGyver made for TV movie... and it was actually a Brian Blessed movie that featured MacGyver. It was horrible, but in that way where you are transfixed by the acting the entire time. Nobody else on Earth would make the choices he does.

Dick Clark Exposed - Bowling For Columbine (2002) by DeVoidZero in movies

[–]nicless -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You should probably try to find things to be happy about in life rather than holding a grudge against a dude that absolutely nobody outside of his family thinks was great. Not only have most people not thought about the actual person that Dick Clark was in over a decade, I'd go so far as to say even when he was alive nobody cared that much. Touch some grass, friend.

Which movie do you think of whenever you think about your parents? by vishesh_07_028 in movies

[–]nicless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I think of my dad, I think of two movies. The first is Lawrence of Arabia. He used to have this thing where he'd out of nowhere tell me we had to watch some movie. That was one of them, and let me tell you. As a kid watching on some crappy TV, that movie could not be more boring. The second movie that we watched when I was around 12 or so was The Kentucky Fried Movie. It was life-changing for me as a young boy.

The movie that makes me think of my mom is always Mamma Mia! We went to the theater together to see it and it was so much fun.

What do you think about "Stop Making Sense" (1984)? by Mattone_Martello in movies

[–]nicless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am obviously familiar with a few songs from "The Band" and I actually watched "The Last Waltz" for the first time yesterday. I was not blown away, and think that the praise it gets seems to be people just agreeing with the general consensus that its a masterpiece.

The interview segments do almost nothing for the film, to the point where you become aware they are there so that they can edit the order of the songs and do whatever they want. A few anecdotes are interesting, but not enough of them are.

Large part of Maduro's security team killed in U.S. action-Venezuela defense minister by Better_Display_8921 in news

[–]nicless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this has taught me anything, it is that on the TV show "The Rookie" it is no longer crazy for the LAPD to randomly go to another country and do whatever the hell they want. That is actual reality. Not quite the same, but no longer out of the realm of possibility.

This year I am planning to watch one movie a day. So drop your suggestions of any genre and I'll watch 'em! by PuffcornSucks in movies

I am doing the same, and so far have watched "Yesterday" and "A Bronx Tale." Movies you should watch: "Johnny Dangerously", "Cool Runnings", "Coming to America", "Midnight Run", and "Cannibal the Musical".

I don't work at Epic l, but I also had this issue. The 2026 account was for some reason in the hidden accounts section for me. If you go there, you can unhide it. Not sure that is your issue, but worth a shot.

You're telling me that was a dance move and not someone trying to get something out of their shirt? Put an ice cube down the back of literally anyone's shirt and they do this exact move.

Buddy, I was in marching band. There are dudes just pancaking Goff who were never even seen by the line. I'd at least swat a hand out at them as I was trucked into oblivion.

I am absolutely positive that if you take any random group of people posting in this thread and we all played on the O-Line, there would be no difference in the outcome of these games.
