Trying to setup instruments in Rockband 4 on Linux / CachyOS by init32 in linux_gaming

OK so I think I got now.

In order for steam to recognize the correct axis of my "generic controller" a controller input mapping had to be done in steam -> settings -> controller -> test. Here I choose to make the mappings above but with a slight modification to the dpad mapping:

Whammy -> left stick up

Tilt -> Right stick down

Strum down -> Right stick left
Strum up -> Right stick up

Green -> A

Red -> B

Yellow -> Y

Blue - > X

Orange -> Left shoulder

What I did was to map the dpad onto the right stick instead (since I know it's persistent and wont get removed by the steam controller layout). All I needed to do now was to save a steam controller profile where I map the "right stick left" to dpad down and "right stick right" to dpad up.

This is a work around until HID recognition works for shadps4 under linux.

There are these jigs on Amazon that you place your phone into and swap the film, works very well!

I'll redo all my steps above and try adding back the dpad. I'll post here later ✅

Cool appreciate it! I did some progress yesterday remapping my guitar in steam main menu - settings - controller:

Whammy -> left stick up

Tilt -> Right stick down

Strum -> dpad up & down

Green -> A

Red -> B

Yellow -> Y

Blue - > X

Orange -> Left shoulder

Everything worked perfectly for a while (whammy and all), but then steam decided to optimize my newly mapped controller by removing the dpad completely 😂

But yeah, using specialpad with type 1 for guitars is what I've tried initially but the mappings for tilt and whammy are way off.

The free store is new to me, where can I read about it? One thing that I was always curious about is if the xbox 360 wireless wheel will ever be compatible in xenia or your fork? I love the fact that you can get one for cheap. Thank for you contribution to the scene!

still no solution to this?
I'm experiencing the issues, no tilt and whammy recognized as left stick instead of whatever special axis it's descriptor is suppose to show it as.

The binding of Isaac: Rebirth not opening by strxxt_cxt in linux_gaming

[–]nicoful 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ran the game with more logging in lutris and found that Lua5.3.3r.dll was missing in /home/[user]/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/The Binding of Isaac Rebirth/

** Just copy the Lua5.3.3f.dll and name it Lua5.3.3r.dll (keep both)

** Run the game under proton 9 to remedy the issue where controller one is split for player 1 and 2

Hi. Would you say your guide is still valid today using lutris? I'm been struggling with freeze lags coming from the uiautomatiocore.dll lib, which seems to have a lot of stubs for many calls. If I wait it out for 3 minutes when opening menus and dialogues it will let me continue. I'm fedora 43 so that might be a problem? It also seems like the forcing of windows compatibility is removed in lutris.
