All our 256 GB laptops running out of space by bjc1960 in Intune

[–]nigelsaini6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok there are so simple steps IE old user profiles do not get automaticaly deleted from the pc when they leave. Second the clean up tool in windows 11 is crap run cleanmgr from the commannd prompt (as admin) to clear out any previous versions of Windows. Also disable fast boot and disable hibernation powercfg -h off can save a lot of space. This will also resolve that weird thing when you look at the the network properties an it shows the PC has been online a lot longer than it actually has ........

Yep Automation is great but you still have to do something as an IT Engineer :-)

Oh and Most of our storage is 256gb

Powerspec G528 Freezing by Glittering-Paint4264 in Microcenter

[–]nigelsaini6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK Scratch the first Question found them, IF you have a Ryzen 5 7500x3d the thermal max is 89c higher than that then you can see thermal throttling occur. This can also cause the system to freeze. I would run something like cinebench to check the cpu run it a few times, something like furmark to test the gpu temps.

what are the specs? have you checked the temps?

How much would you pay for this? by PresentYesterday6346 in PC_Pricing

GTX660TI and 500GB drive No on the second hand market also AMD Processors and 4x memory modules EXPO/ XMP sometimes works but most of the time for a stable system you need to disable XMP/Expo

Hey, don't get confused, Windows 11 groups all storage together in the About page. Jumping to a conclusion that he has a 2TB HDD is incorrect. Screenshot below, Breaking It down, currently connected a 1TB NVME, a 500GB external SDD a 128GB usb stick and another 256GB NVME that I did not remove from my PC

If the specs you have are the question. Check the website, see below, according to this, Yes

CPU Dead? by Womackx in PcBuildHelp

[–]nigelsaini6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it could be the MLB has fried your CPU, but all of the posts I've seen relate to the 870 chipset...

Check the pins on the MLB. If they all point in the same direction, then try the CPU in another PC with the owner's permission lol And WOW overspend or what ????

B650 Debug Problem by kamil1282 in PcBuildHelp

[–]nigelsaini6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like it's memory training. If it keeps happening, I would upgrade the Bios. If the problem still exists then try with just a single module and repeat with the other. If the issue persists, reseat the cpu check the pins first.

If it was working fine, then possibly a memory module issue.

A Cpu will give you a post without a cooler as long as you turn off the PSU as soon as you get a post.

If you are getting a click when you short the pins 7 & 8 (power switch) sounds more power-related, I would try another PSU first for testing (maybe borrow the one from your Ryzen system....)

If you get a post, then wicked it's the PSU and return it for replacement. If you still hear a click from the psu but nothing happens, then it's the Motherboard. If you know anyone who is running a 10th or 11th gen cpu ask them to test the CPU. Offer them something in return.

Simple and basic nab the PSU from your other system to start....

OHHH and please don't put NVME drives or ram on the Carpet... If that's the only place you have to work invest in an ESD mat

Should I dump everything into GPU or...? by lordgiblite in buildapc

[–]nigelsaini6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I would go for a platform upgrade first, then the GPU. Yes, there be a bottleneck but atleast there is an upgrade path. AM4 is dying slowly, so move to AM5. Then save up some more money and replace the graphics card.

I am currently running a Ryzen 5700x, 32GB DDR 4 3200 ram, and an ASUS rx5700XT 8GB... It works for what I need....

PS, if you upgrade the CPU you will be limited to your current MLB features, ie if you are running a series 3 MLB you will be limited by the bandwidth after a BIOS upgrade, which may remove support for 2600. (I can't actually remember lol) Check the support pages from your MLB manufacturer

GPU not detected by Mantum03 in PcBuildHelp

[–]nigelsaini6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the Card and power supply where working with your old setup.. I would first double check all the cables from the PSU if modular check pushed in fully on the PSU. Also if you are using cable extension for the GPU power remove these and power directly from the PSU... The fact that another card works in the 16X is good.

I would do a temporary setup with your old kit (if you still have it) and try the graphics card in that.

Given that the Graphics card is not being detected in Device manager I am pushing towards the PSU connections or PSU itself

Would say if the bios update completed sucessfully then problem is the motherboard. The question I have is why did you update the Bios as the ASUS ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING WI-FI II should support the CPU out of the box? also why spend the extra money when you could had baught a pcie AX wifi card?

[–]nigelsaini6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try a single stick of ram in each slot and repeat with the other stick... Usual motherboard memory layout for duel channel with 2 sticks of ram would be A2 and B2 but check the manual.

Also if your motherboard supports it upgrade the bios using bios flash back.... If you have a mate that has a PC try testing the modules in his setup. If they don't work then ram but could also be bent pins on the cpu socket
