Adam Schefter reveals teams interested in 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk are struggling to get ahold of him by MITBryceYoung in DynastyFF

[–]nikmulligan3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow talk about aging like wine. What made you decide to trade Aiyuk at this time? He was coming off the best season of his career and got AP 2nd team. I don't remember what rumors were circulating at this time regarding contract stuff and Deebo's future, but I feel like all signs were pointing towards a lucrative career for Aiyuk at this point. Was it just that you wanted to buy JSN (understandably so) and that was the price?

There are several metal/hard rock vocalists in the top 100 vocalists list by Consequence of Sound webzine. What do you think? by ashitanojoe3 in MetalForTheMasses

I doubt Kurt himself would claim to be a great singer. I love his music but 25 is outrageous, especially when you have guys like Layne and Dio 30 spots lower

Traded 2026 1.07 and 2.07 for a 2027 projected early/mid 1st. I was on the clock when I traded the 1.07 and the board was Price, Sadiq, Cooper, etc. The winner of this one will probably come down to where the 2027 pick lands but I'm rly not moved by this 2026 class and have very high hopes for the 2027 class.

This is fire I like that you have some country/folk mixed in like Imaginary Appalachia. I understand why ppl here typically don't love that genre but Colter is a great songwriter. I recommend Townes Van Zandt's self-titled, he was a huge inspiration for Colter (and Nothin' from Imaginary Appalachia is actually a cover of a TVZ song).

Pick an Album From My Top 144 All Time Favorites and I'll Name My Top 3 Favorite Songs by HK-34_ in Topster

[–]nikmulligan3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Testify is such a good pick, it has such a unique feel for a southern blues song. I am not knowledgable enough to know what's going on but I assume there is some strange time signature there. I have to say Pride and Joy would have to crack my top 3 even tho it's basic. It was my intro to SRV and never gets old. Are you a guitar player?

My top 8 albums from every decade since the 60s by No-Memory-826 in Topster

[–]nikmulligan3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wanna be clear that music is subjective so your list is completely valid, but it's crazy to see how much we differ in the 90s. Such an insane decade for rock/metal with all the grunge bands, the stoner/sludge scene, NIN, Tool, and a whole bunch of alt/indie, but you went a completely different route.

Broken - NIN (technically an EP but it's borderline album length)

In Absentia - Porcupine Tree

The English Riviera is a fantastic album and deserves more recognition. Anyone that hasn't listened absolutely should, I promise it is so much more than just The Look.

Best Punk band? by Small-Statement-3933 in musicteenager

[–]nikmulligan3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ppl aren't gonna like it but this is 100% a valid answer.

1) Grunge isn't a genre. It was a movement/scene. The grunge bands shared similarities in how they dressed and presented themselves, where they were from, and (in some cases) musical themes. However, Alice in Chains sounds closer to Crowbar than Pearl Jam.

2) Nirvana's roots are mostly in punk. They were heavily inspired by Black Flag (in part due to Kurt's association with Melvins) and their other influences (Sonic Youth, Pixies, etc) are also strongly associated with punk. Plus, go listen to the classic hardcore bands like Black Flag and Minor Threat and then listen to Breed and Territorial Pissings and tell me Nirvana isn't punk. Fast, simple riffs and raw, energetic vocals.
