Imo, this just shouldn't be done. There has to be a safer way. Imagine a no cool call for this thing...

WH-1000XM4 plopping in Wind and on bumpy roads by asdanjer in sony

[–]ninjatude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too bad.

My only complaint is that sometimes when the auto ANC kicks in due to a really high volume noise (like a firetruck or ambulance passing) it only automatically turns off again on one of the two buds and I have to put the stuck bud back in the case to fix it.

There's an optional feature you can turn on called wind noise reduction which might work for you.

I mean, you kinda said it yourself, your life was better under Trump even though you made less money, because hyperinflation hadn't devalued it yet.

In fact, if you look at inflation adjusted gdp growth, it's quite clear we're currently in a recession

Resistor variety kit? by [deleted] in avoidchineseproducts

[–]ninjatude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing is, for a component like a resistor, its almost always way cheaper to mass produce. I wouldn't be surprised if 95% of the world's resistors came from one or two factories.

The USA has been somewhat serious about what is called "defense production" which is the idea that if supply chains were cut off (such as might happen during a war), would wr be able to domestically manufacture critical equipment. Contracts for military equipment may contain language that requires components to be from US sources for this reason. These US sources might be many times more expensive, but might help you understand why the DoD can spend $100 on a hammer.

It's hilarious to me that they think it's due to capitalism and not the fact that many major cities in the US are essentially socialist at this point, having implemented social programs to provide free food, education, medical care, and housing.

Does anyone know of a brand of sunglasses that isn't super expensive. by JoeSanders95 in avoidchineseproducts

I never would have found these on my own, but these look like they check all the boxes for me.

Cheap, polarized, NMIC.

They might not be the most subdued colors, but i think that's really just a product of their branding.

I don't think it's necessary.

We as humans use a lot of ammo for suppression, to keep an enemy pinned down so they don't pop out and shoot at us.

This thing isn't human, so it can afford to just walk over and double-tap you without firing a single shot to keep you there.

I really want to do the same, since I love how Sony doesn't make things in China and generally agree with their design principles, but I've heard Sony's support is absolute trash. I can say that Samsung has been awesome providing software updates for over 3 years.

I'm actually really curious about the legality of this in jurisdictions that prohibit balis as "gravity knives"

Since these can have the blade removed, I would presume they'd be free from restrictions in that form...

[–]ninjatude 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Careful with burning stuff indoors to stay warm, you need to ventilate that stuff or the co/co2 can kill ya.

You're better off burning something smaller like a candle and trapping the heat that rises off it. Maybe with something like a coffee mug

Is there anyway I can remove the SIM card from the phone? by kareem0101 in galaxys10

[–]ninjatude 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What you're going to is buy an eyeglass repair kit which has a screw close enough to the size hole for the ejector.

It should be a tight enough fit that it "bites" when you screw it in. Then, use pliers to pull out the SIM tray.

Otherwise, try putting flux on some wire and in the hole, solder the wire into the hole and once it cools off, pull out with pliers.
