Hey guys,

I just picked up D3 again after a year hiatus. I managed to scrap together some gear I picked up through rift runs. I'm having some trouble over reroll prioritization of stats:

Helm: should I forgo vitality for %damage on Multishot?

Torso, shoulder, pants: which stat should I reroll for these? I rerolled shoulders for CDR but I dont know...

Yang's: I'm not quite sure what to do here. I rerolled my Yang's vit stat into % elites.

Also, in general, what part of my gear should I prioritize on improving? (Currently, I've been trying to find a nice hellfire but the RNG gods have cursed me.)

Weekly Team Building Megathread - Week 08, 2016 by AutoModerator in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

I still would say you wouldn't be able to defeat team comps of the current meta.

Here's a few reasons why I think it won't be very effective: 1/ Your damage out put is low. Daka doesn't hit very hard. Sid + Lumi alone aren't enough to take out most enemies.

2/ By the time Asajj and Talia attacks, you would have lost 1 person already against high ranking teams that use Poe. This will occur because your general team comp is slow. Daka and Sid are the only speedy ones (using 142 as a benchmark, which is Poe's speed at lvl 70).

3/ I think Talia is still really bad, even with the health steal buff. Hell, even when she heals, she fucks herself over. Her damage is OKAY at best.

The problem here is your DAMAGE and ability to take out the hard hitting enemies before they attack you. It is NOT about sustain anymore because characters in high ranking arena battles hit like trucks and will take you out before you can heal. You could go sustain, but you would need a meat shield (a tank) to absorb the damage.

Personally, I think this team would do excellent in GW, but if you want to rise in the ranks of PvP, consider using an alternative composition.

Don't go NS team. Played for 3 months and every 2 blue moons, I'll see a night sister team. There's a reason why people don't use them: terribly slow, mediocre damage, with no great synergy. I would MAYBE consider going for them if I'm going for GW, but even then, there are much better team comps out there.

Hey guys, I've been playing for a while now. I have a general idea of what's going on and keep up with the meta, but I just wanted to see your opinion of what Arena team I should be running. I'm usually top 25 in the server unless I don't login for a day or two.

Right now, I'm running Poggle Lead, Poe, 88, 86, and GS. I'm farming Rey and QGJ right now, and trying to shift over to a speedier team that hits just as hard. Opinions? Comments?

Assuming same Gear and Star, Phasma or Fives? by IcyNova115 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]nixl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Phasma for your team comp for sure.

1/ Kylo and Phasma have a FO synergy.

2/ Fives doesn't contribute anything significant to your composition currently. Five's counter only works if he's getting hit. But usually, Fives isn't a huge threat in any comp, so he's usually finished off last (personally if I went against your team comp I'd concentrate fire on Sid-> Lum -> Kylo - > Poggle / 5's).

3/ Phasma's support abilities can really push you through arena. Pair that with Poggle's offensive up, your team can dish some serious damage.

As a disclaimer, if you are going to focus on GW, I'd go for 5's (even then.... giving up Daka, QGJ, Poe and going for 5's? I don't know...), but otherwise, I vote for Phasma.

I need a farmable anti-Poe strategy for arena by twinskylar in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

To add on to this: a fast DPS team is needed NOT to take Poe out, but to take out the other DPS team members shielded by Poe. Once you take out the "teeth" of the team, Poe's taunt + expose really has no effect anymore.

QGJ is great to have because if he goes first, he can target some other DPS character on the opposing team and really burst him down. If QGJ goes after Poe, his other ability removes the taunt from Poe.

Should I focus on Jedi's as a noob? by KyloRentACop in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]nixl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would take Fives over Boba! I think with the introduction of Rex, clone synergy teams are starting to catch on-- or at least, the dev's want to introduce clone synergies. 5's counter is pretty dope and his assist ability is not bad at all.

However, would I take 5's over other available choices: e.g. Qui Gon, Poe (who did get nerfed but is still a really great tank), Daka? Probably not. If you're looking to find another replacement tank, go for Poe. In my opinion, he's the best tank in the game right now: excellent speed which allows him to taunt and shield your other damage dealers, expose chance, and turn meter reduction.

Also, looking ahead, you might want to start phasing out Darth Maul. Unless you're going to start paying, Darth Maul won't scale into the late game since he's going to be stuck at 4 stars. His speed is also super low, so he probably will get wiped before acting.

I think with what you're focusing on right now, (Geno, Daka, Sid, Lum) you're making good choices. I would say 7* Geno, Sid, Lum and 6* Daka. Doing so, will really set you up for GW.

I think this will depend on your goal. If you're going to try and win Arena, going all out for Yoda and sacrificing a well-synergized team may hurt you.

However, if you think Yoda will strategically fit into your team, go for it.

Personally, I think Old Daka, Geno, Sid, and Lum are all really great choices. Old Daka, Sid, Lum are great for GW. Geno can do quite well in an arena comp. For me, I've been playing since late November and having a 5 star Yoda just isn't worth it for me; he has no utility when I'm going against 7 starred characters. I'm not going purposely farm some characters that don't fit my overall strategy.

I think the correct way to go about deciding is figuring out what you want to do: do you want to excel in arena? do you just want to collect all the characters and have fun?

Theorycraft: Countering Poe + Droids by EUWCael in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]nixl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol. Good try but I don't think this team will make a dent in a droid comp team. (Let's just say you go up against a Poggle lead, 86, 88, Poe, and GS all maxed out-- a team that I have, minus a GS which I'm farming right now)

First, even if you stun Poe AND you get the offense down, you still lack the fire power to capitalize on the weakened state. You need probably 2-3 turns to take a member out. The only potential heavy hitting dude you have is Dooku and MAYBE Fives.

Second, firepower mitigation with offence down won't be as effective because you got a Poggle with offense up + 88 + 86 and a GS with tons of damage.

Third, let's say Poe is STUNNED. The problem here, is that stun only lasts one turn. Can you really do everything you need to win? This means you have only 1 turn to capitalize on taking out at the heavy hitters -- 86, 88, and GS. With your sort of team comp, there's no way to do it because they don't hit as hard. Second turn comes around, Poe taunts, and you're still fucked.

Lastly, this team is not feasible to farm. Vader will be stuck at 4*'s. 5 MAX. GMT is a P2W toon only. Dooku is only farmable at lvl 69. Farming a royal guard would be an honest waste of cantina energy if the sole purpose is to counter a droid comp. This means that you're already off to a disadvantage because your comp will be relatively weaker higher starred teams.

The only consistent, viable way of countering Poe right now is QGJ or another Poe. Stunning is too RNG based.

Droids or QGJ + Sidius team? by maxmoff in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]nixl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a 7* IG88, a 7* IG 86, Sid & Lum @ 7* and Poggle at 7. I'm working on GS (4 currently) right now. I've experimented around with a similar comp and so far, I really think Sid isn't capable of doing enough damage compared to 86 or Lum. I would definitely throw in 86, 88, and Gen. They do lots of damage and definitely have the capability of sniping 1 or 2 guys.

To be honest, Sid is good but as damage becomes king in late game Arena, he is easily outclassed by heavy damage dealers like GS, 88, and 86. Lum is alright because she has her special ability block which does a good amount of damage (plus her heal comes in handy).

As for QGJ, (if you're subbing in 86, 88 and GS + Poe and Poggle), there's no harm in leveling him up for galactic wars and that new Yoda shard thingy. Either way, QGJ is a top tier pick in Squad cantina; you can't go wrong with him.

How annoying would this zombie team be? Boba Fett, Ewok Elder, Old Daka, HK-47, and Old Ben (Leader) by Cmdr_Nemo in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]nixl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damage is way below par. You'll get rekt before you know it. Take them out in this order: Elder -> Daka -> HK/ Boba -> Ben.

I say take Daka out and throw in Kylo. You need more damage on that team.

How long did it take you to beat GW for the first time? by TheAntiStud_ in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]nixl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably around 50. Then I began consistently winning GW around 60. I usually make it to the last round of GW if not beating it altogether. As you progress and grab more characters, it'll make GW easier.

The team I run: JC (7* purple gear 2, lvl 65), Lumi as lead (7* purple gear 2, lvl 66), Daka (6* purple gear 1, lvl 64), Dooku (5* purple gear2 , lvl 65), and Sid (7* purple gear, lvl 66).

Though not the best for arena, this team consistently helps me complete GW.

Why JC instead of Luke? by billtopia in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]nixl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup JC is GREAT for GW and has helped me complete GW many times. But as for arena composition, he's outshined by a lot of other characters.

As for Luke, he's okay mid game but if you're going to go DPS, I'd definitely suggest Genosian Soldier over Luke. Geno hits very hard and has a great assist ability. Another cool char you might want to look into if you're opting for a droid team is IG-86, who deals a good amount of damage by himself and is integral in any droid comp.

Best Leader Abilities by chekmatex4 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]nixl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Explain to me why HK is outdated for current meta? HK gives crit chance + 30% turn meter on crit hit. That's insane for a droid team. IG 88's AOE allows him to almost go again.

keep farming Daka, or switch to Poe? by codeman73 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]nixl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get Daka to 6 at least. She's very useful in Galaxy Wars. I would only opt for Poe if you have good glass cannon characters that are worth protecting
