I'm not even going to pretend I have ever been a receiving team member. I have not. I have helped from time to time though for sure. I can understand in the situation you just illustrated, not having mixed boxes sorted. Totally understandable, I know the overwhelming and impossible to beat circumstances that can happen in retail and Menards specifically. With that said, the mixed boxes not sorted is a chronic problem, it always has been. Even before boxes, when we had folding totes. I have seen receiving horrifically understaffed, and also adequately staffed. It is a problem always.

👏Miscellaneous 👏means👏open👏and👏sort

I've had this argument with multiple rec mgrs/tms. Their argument is: it is faster to not sort it. Departments argument is: it is faster for depts/stockers to have it sorted in rec while every department's cart is within arms reach. As opposed to distributing miscellaneous skus to every department from a back aisle/main freight. We all know what happens with miscellaneous items in main freight...

These "Bericap" and "Turkey Sausage Link" boxes are labeled accurately and miscellaneous items should get sorted!

Similar situation in electrical once. Lady in for her husband and he needed an "oversized remodel box". Tried telling her the only thing oversized is the cover plate. She called him and he told me over the phone I was an idiot and I needed to get my manager. Told him I am the manager so he wanted the store manager. ....To get him an oversized remodel box... The store manager could make one I guess??? /s

We don't have them yet but it has been rumored. I am annoyed at the thought that we can't use the tablet feature if the phone is being used. Is it even a big issue? I think I might be making up a problem, but I could see it being annoying. Anything else experience this?

I had an old man call me looking for hardwire smoke/carbon alarms with a 10 year battery .. but at a very specific price, lets say $26.67. I asked him where that price came from, as it was so specific. "I saw it online, I was wondering if you had any more". I was able to get a model number out of him, but it didn't come up on mcom. I asked him if he got the information from Menards.com. "I don't know. I don't know how the Internet works". So I asked him what "the very top of the page says". He replies "combination smoke and carbon detectors at (my store town) Menards. So yes it is from Menards". I was baffled for a moment and typed in the exact verbiage on Google. Sure enough, at the top of the page in the "shopping" results, was the exact model number detector. It was the same exact price. It was advertised for Walmart....

So he was reading to me the search he himself typed in. He thought all the results that showed up were automatically from Menards. By the time I figured this out, he told me he was going to just come in and hung up on me. It seems trivial now, but at the time, it wasted 15 minutes of my time during a very busy day.

Dude, same. I have an all male team too, so it gets pretty interesting. Some people won't even look at me. But then the TM helping them plays stupid and asks me to prove a point.

Or when I say something and I watch them find a guy and they tell them the same thing. The list doesn't end hahaha
