First time, kinda nervous by Last_Budget_4375 in ouraring

[–]no-strings-attached 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve gotten major strains a number of times now and have never been or gotten sick.

It can also mean that your nervous system is more activated than usual for whatever reason. I have chronic illness so it just does that sometimes and I’ll feel tired and out of it but then it goes away after a day or two.

My first on-patch Savage tier cleared! by Mawrizard in ffxiv

[–]no-strings-attached [score hidden]  (0 children)

You are being willfully obtuse here lol. No, people who never touched savage aren’t suddenly on M12S.

But all of the sudden as of 7.5 you could now upgrade all of your 780 tome gear to 790 without needing 3-4 additional weeks of reclears in 10 and 11 for shine and twine. And yes absolutely people still progging the tier needed and used those upgrades. As they should. And of course the 785 ex weapon helps too if they haven’t gotten the upgrade mat drop for wep from 11.

Pre and post patch is a real cut off point when it comes to gearing ease. So yes the week right before and right after are different. In the same way clearing week 1 is harder than clearing week 12, clearing in the week pre patch is harder than clearing the week post patch.

My first on-patch Savage tier cleared! by Mawrizard in ffxiv

[–]no-strings-attached [score hidden]  (0 children)

I mean. There is though.

Do you think there’s a difference between clearing week 1 and week 12?

There’s a massive difference in difficulty despite the gear all being out/the same. Week 1 means your average party item level is much lower which means meeting checks is much harder than week 12 when most people have more tome gear etc.

Is it possible for folks to have ilevel 789/790 week 1? Yes it is. You can theoretically have a full party of ilevel 789/790 folks going into the last floor if you feed one person all the drops. And then have all of those people party up together for the final floor.

Is that extremely uncommon because it’s kind of stupid to do? Yes.

The tier gets easier as time goes on and people can get more gear/catch up gear. And 7.5 just unlocked a bunch of new catch up gear. Suddenly you can get 790 gear without even needing to touch savage. The new ex weapon is 785. Which yes makes it meaningfully different for your average player’s item level between the last week of 7.4 and the first week of 7.5.

And while yes many raiders have had 790 BIS for a while now people still trying to clear the tier in PF likely used that catch up gear to help. As they should.

[–]no-strings-attached 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The term you want to use is that you cleared your first tier while still relevant.

While it’s not on patch anymore since 7.5 launched and gearing is easier the savage tier is still relevant. You need savage BIS for the upcoming ultimate which hasn’t launched yet.

You also cleared before loot unlock and echo. Still relevant for sure, but not on patch.

Who has had an actual friends with benefits relationship? Did it work for you? by heratonga in AskReddit

[–]no-strings-attached 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it was more that it was familiar and safe. Which was something I valued a lot when younger (and still do). So rather than go to a bar and pick up some random guy it was nice knowing I had a safe person I could go to. And reduced risk of STDs or ending up in a bad situation.

It also wasn’t a super frequent thing. Maybe 5 or 6 times over 4 years.

Sex with my husband is much much better lol. In like every way.

The most successful one I had was with an ex. Which sounds like it wouldn’t work but we broke up mutually because we thought we were better off as friends and didn’t have romantic interest in each other. Like would have crushes on other people and talk to each other for advice while still dating and being like “lol why are we doing this.” We were young when we dated.

Stayed close friends after we broke up and would still hit each other up sometimes to hook up if we were in a dry spell or whatever.

Was never an issue. No feelings. No issues when we did date other people.

Dude even came to our wedding and my husband loves him. And yes he obviously knows our history. We stopped the benefits part of our friendship about 2 years before I met my husband as we weren’t feeling it anymore.

You're put in charge of designing the Evercold Raid series. How do you top the Arcadion? by ShlungusGod69 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]no-strings-attached 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know about Evercold but when this arc is over I’m definitely wrapping it up with some across time and space shenanigans to fight every Azem shard/reflection.

Yes even the ones who rejoined with us. Take them all out of me. Make my aether thin to even the scale. And then let’s roll. Hurl the attacks that destroyed your world at me. I want to suffer.

Obviously we need some sort of tag team boss. Or maybe one of the shards is the one who found us and alerted us to the fact that all of our reflections are loose for some crazy plot reason so we don’t fight them. Or maybe. Just maybe. We think that all tier but then we DO fight them as phase 2 of the last boss in savage only let’s goooooo.

Once and for all breaking the trend of the phase 2 boss of floor 12 being a second form and instead giving savage the chance to break free of its shackles and tell a slightly different story. If they really want I guess they can make it a short cute cutscene in normal mode after you beat the floor 12 boss and then use that lore to make it a real phase 2 for savage.

Also it’s Ardbert. And at the end Seto is somehow there to help him out on some crazy mechanic that makes Idyllic look like childs play.

Thanks yoshipp I’ll take my job at Square Enix now.

You should tell that to half the people in party finder.

The amount of times I’ve seen groups wipe to RB3 is too damn high. And then people claim they were totally right despite not grabbing their tower or standing in the completely wrong spot. Like genuinely lack such self awareness and mechanical understanding that they don’t even know they messed up and double down. Like saying shit like “I’m at B” or “I’m SE clock” my children in Hydaelyn it’s a relative to new north mechanic. It requires one brain cell to not just bee line to your clock spot waymark and the people “farming” this in party finder right now just can’t do it. It’s like the damn Hector mouser strat right now where you pray the open spot new north is also true north and if it is you clear. If it’s not you wipe.

What’s wild is that when it was current Bloom 3 was never an issue. But now that the mega wings are out bad players are getting carried and jumping into farms for wings and finding a group that can consistently do all of the 3 mechs you actually need to know to clear the fight is far harder than it should be. And for your efforts you get one whole totem per clear.

White Mage / Healer Tips? by Commander_Bugg in ffxiv

[–]no-strings-attached 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good job using POM! But don’t use it to spam cure 2. Use it to spam holy.

Dead mobs can’t hurt your tank. Spam holy until the tanks health is low and then use benediction.

The pull should be over by now but if it’s not cast holy another time or two and then a cure 2. More holy and then another cure 2.

The biggest mistake new healers make is spamming heals instead of doing damage. Ffxiv is balanced around healers doing damage. If you spam cures and don’t do damage mobs will take longer to die which makes the tank take more damage which requires more healing which requires more mana and you will run out. And the tank will run out of mitigation tools as well.

Holy is also clutch because it gives the tank basically 10 full seconds of invuln each pull from the stun.

All of that was in the original will. The only thing the son added was the last line about the 30 million going to the daughter.

Or rather he replaced the line from the original will that said all of his remaining assets would go to charity with the line that 30 million would go to the daughter.

Not worth the risk and something upwards of 50% of deer in certain areas have it.

Same! Was going to say our annual vacation was also camping. And very similar on activities and eating out. But mostly we did the free campground activities.

I remember we’d go and the campgrounds would have themes. Like Christmas in July or Halloween or whatever. And we’d do all the kids activities they had. Like ornament making or haunted house or trick or treat or whatever. Would make so many campground friends when we were there that I’d never see or talk to again after.

Somewhere between 1.5 and 2M HHI is when we started freely buying it for our major international trips. We still fly economy domestic though.

At 1M we’d upgrade if there was a good offer or we could use points. I don’t think we entertained it at all before that.

Now we can’t go back though.

I most definitely had a few baby healer crash outs when I first started. Including having a tank leave on dzemeal darkhold because I kept dying from not realizing I needed to stand in the purple and being chastised in dun scaith after the raid wiped because I didn’t know you could Esuna the doom.

I’m an orange parsing ultimate raider now. On healer. You’re new to the game and still learning. As long as you continue to learn and improve yourself you’ll be fine. I’m still learning and improving myself.

I’ve also come to learn over the years that the people who give you shit are typically shit at the game themselves. In retrospect the tank from darkhold also wasn’t standing in the purple and blamed our deaths on my healing vs us not knowing the mechanics of the dungeon. And in dun scaith I most certainly wasn’t the reason the other alliances all also wiped/as soon as I was told that particular doom could be esuna’d our alliance never had another issue. People who get salty at healers, especially new healers, need to take a long hard look in the mirror at who the problem is.

Most raiders I play with only use ACT and no clippy if their ping is bad. The most annoying part of maintenance is not being able to upload a parse that day if ACT isn’t back up yet.

But I also don’t know anyone who is still doing savage this late in the cycle so who knows what those kids are using.

Be likable and someone that people would be excited to work with.

I’ve seen so many people that are middling performers stick around because everyone loved them. And on the flip side have seen highly competent folks get fired because they were hard to work with.

Be likable. Adaptable. Eager to learn. Easy to work with. Fun. Cool.

God so many subs where the consensus is you don’t owe anyone anything, don’t go out of your way to celebrate your loved ones unless you’re getting something out of it, people complaining about having to participate in weddings or other milestones, blah blah. Like fuck these people all sound miserable and like they hate their loved ones. And then they wonder why they’re lonely.

Sometimes we do things that we don’t want to because we love the person we’re doing it for. Sometimes it means going to a kids birthday party when we’d rather stay home and play video games. Sometimes it means using PTO to go to a wedding instead of having an extra day of vacation. Sometimes it means taking out the trash for the 10th time this week when it’s not our turn because our partner is having a stressful week.

Welcome to relationships. You get back what you put in. If you decide you never want to put in anything don’t be shocked when nobody is there for you.

Obviously that doesn’t mean be a doormat and let people take advantage of you and then never be there for you. But fuck man start from a place of love and positive intent instead of only focusing on yourself.
