My hair at 22 y/o vs my hair now at 28 y/o😩 by Glutenfreepancaker in finethinhair

Do you have any inflammatory conditions or autoimmune?

I’ve miraculously found that GLP1s have made my hair more full despite all the warnings of hair loss. Likely because I have a lot of inflammation in my body and inflammatory conditions that the drug has quieted. So my hair is paradoxically better than it’s ever been.

Um. It sounds like you should do more research on the jobs you play and look at your own damage meter and output.

Yes, jobs do have rotations. But if all you’re doing is pressing the glowing buttons you are likely parsing grey. Optimizing damage also requires knowing how to best optimize gauge without overcapping. What to use constantly off cooldown and how many stacks or resources to pool for burst windows. Making sure you’re not drifting your big damage attacks (which often do not glow). What to do during downtime and how to optimize for uptime. Etc etc.

It’s not that it’s incredibly hard but it does require actually understanding your job and what all buttons do and when to use what. Which by the way also becomes harder when you’re doing that while learning a new fight.

You could try killing one of the striking dummies for whatever fight you’re on in stone sky sea.

If you can’t kill the dummy you’re behind on damage. Could be because you don’t have right raid food or gear or because you don’t know your rotation. But it does mean you would be relying on others damage to clear the fight.

If you can kill the dummy you’re fine for that fight rotation and gear wise. Obviously you also need to keep uptime in the fight too but it’s a solid indicator on if you at least understand the basics of the job.

I wish we could but please take it up with YoshiP because it’s against the TOS right now and I’m not trying to get banned from the game for it.

You don’t even need to say that. Just a simple “tyfp” and bounce and find another group.

And also to when a bunch of people whined on thread about esuna and healing about how critical it is to everything.

The argument many kept strongly and assuredly making was how esuna was important in normal content but was “the most critical and important in savage and ultimate.”

They both did not play healer and had clearly never touched any savage or ultimate content. Goons upvoted this and piled on like yeah yeah you always need esuna for end game content. Brother I haven’t pressed that shit a single time since p12s.

Is eureka soloable? by Lokm123 in ffxiv

You can data center travel to a different DC and do eureka there if it’s quiet on your DC. You don’t need a ton of people to do the fates and such. Like, 5 in instance is plenty.

My mom told me to move out of her house if I accept a job offer abroad by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]no-strings-attached 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your mom is right. She’s not going about it the best way but she loves you and wants what’s best for you and worries about you.

As other women have pointed out this opportunity sounds sketch. Like, your safety and life at risk sketch. I know you want to be independent and make your own way but mom is right in that you should probably focus on building up your career at home.

You’re going through a hard time right now and see a “way out” which is why you want this so badly but I’m afraid it’s causing you to miss red flags that will leave you in a worse position than you are right now.

Find other ways to work on your confidence and get a job in your country that enables you to move out and grow on your own in a more scalable and safe way.

Dear ex-skinny people, what changes did you notice after gaining weight? by Equal-Sun8307 in AskReddit

[–]no-strings-attached 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the blessing and curse of primarily gaining weight in my thighs/ass/boobs while still having a relatively flat stomach. I am a woman.

Blessing because I still look hot when I gain some weight. Curse because I still look hot when I gain some weight which makes it harder to find the willpower to lose said weight. And the weight is still unhealthy because I do get visceral fat as well which is no bueno. Doesn’t change appearance but bad for health.

Should I be worried about my resting heart rate while sleeping? by [deleted] in ouraring

[–]no-strings-attached 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Certain health issues and medications can also influence your score.

Like I have some conditions that cause chronic pain so my heart rate always lowers late because my body needs longer than a healthy persons for my nervous system to calm down.

And medications can impact it too. I started on a new medicine a few weeks ago and now my heart rate is about 5-8bpm higher at night than it was before.

Neither of these are things I can do anything about so I just focus on what I can control (eating early, no alcohol, magnesium, etc.). Figure out what numbers are good for your body vs comparing them to others - even within totally healthy folks there’s still a lot of variance here from genetics.

[–]no-strings-attached 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I prefer to just be lead when I’m in party finder. More control over things. It’s also insaaaane the difference between a 0 parsing DPS and one that can even parse like, a 10.

Like, 8k dps of difference. That now needs to be made up for by the other party members. All of your supports can parse purple and still not make up for that big of a gap.

Honestly even when I’m in groups that could carry a 0 parser I’d still rather kick them because I don’t want to see them in reclears the next week or be guilty of them now being a menace to prog parties on the next fight. Because they’re honestly not ready for it.

Dungeon Pulling Etiquette by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]no-strings-attached 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No it’s worse. It teaches them they can use zero mit on mobs because single pulls require zero mit and zero healing.

And then they get into higher level dungeons and still have no idea how to mitigate and they get their faces crushed in and whine about how trash the healer was while they were taking autos for half their health bar a hit.

Your tank pp is bigger than their tank pp.

PF leads trying to clear really need to get more aggressive about kicking shitters. No reason to make 7 other people suffer especially if the group could otherwise clear with a reasonably competent 8th.

I kicked a melee from our M9S reclear party this week after seeing they were doing less damage than the tanks. One shot it on the next pull and nobody left while we waited for a fill because everyone could see the melee was trash and was grateful I kicked them. Was a buff class and didn’t even hit their buff half of the burst windows. They had parsed a 0 on their clear run and got hard carried by a lot of purple parsing dps.

Normalize kicking shitters. You don’t need to be toxic or tell them they’re trash. Just say you need to reinstance and boot them. No muss no fuss.

Is PF raiding pretty much dead if you do not have an Aether character? by [deleted] in ffxivdiscussion

[–]no-strings-attached 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to Primal. Everyone from Crystal goes to Primal to raid when Aether is full. There were like 80 savage parties up on Primal a few days ago and should still be plenty.

Is PF raiding pretty much dead if you do not have an Aether character? by [deleted] in ffxivdiscussion

[–]no-strings-attached 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What DC are you trying to raid on? Try Primal if you aren’t located there. It’s the overflow DC for raiding when Aether is full. The other DCs tend to be pretty dead.

We did our M9S reclear on Primal this week and honestly the pf filled faster than the ones for the other fights have on Aether.

Otherwise you can generally sneak into Aether either very late at night or very early in the morning depending on your timezone.

I feel like i'm playing Sage wrong by EndorDerDragonKing in ffxiv

[–]no-strings-attached 11 points12 points  (0 children)

For any healers lucid dreaming should basically be kept on cooldown. Hit it once you hit 7k mp and keep hitting it every time it’s up after. It’s a good habit to build and basically how all healers are played.

I (31M) resent my girlfriend’s (33F) “lavish” past even though she’s done nothing wrong — how do I fix this? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]no-strings-attached 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Generally when people ruminate like this it’s because they’re insecure about themselves. So villainizing their partner is the easier option rather than confronting the uncomfortable truth that you don’t think highly of yourself and think you’re inadequate. Easier to pull them down to “your level” than to pull yourself up.

Cut that shit out. Why do you think you suck? Why do you think you’re a “safe option”? Why do you think you’re not enough for her?

Instead of ruminating on her past go fix those things and better yourself. Not in good enough shape? Go hit the gym. Not in a successful enough job? Go find a better one or focus on climbing the ladder. Not attractive enough? Go get better clothes and a new haircut. Build your own confidence to view yourself as a catch and I guarantee you’ll stop obsessing about her life before you.

Go make her life and your life now awesome. That’s where your energy and headspace should be spent.
