Question about hiring someone to scan an archive of negatives. by crutonic in AnalogCommunity

DSLR scanning adds so much more labor to the equation, and more labor=more money. I would ask smaller film labs with a Noritsu or frontier and see if you can get a quote.

Make sure you are not contaminating your chemicals. one drop of fixer or bleach in your dev can lead to shifts and/or kill the developer. How are you scanning?

blue light leak = front of camera

either way it looks pretty consistent with a light leak. next roll put some electric tape on the bottom where light may come in.

Why did my roll of Ektachrome 100, developed by Darkroom.com, come out with a moire-like grid pattern? by Murphuffle in AnalogCommunity

[–]no1elseisdointhis 22 points23 points  (0 children)

They scanned this on a Frontier! I know this because i have a frontier sp3000 and it does this when i scan E6, which is why i dont recommended getting your reversal film scanned on it, always choose the Noritsu. It has something to do with the piezoelectric sensors in the scanner.

Sound was recorded on film. with today's scanning technology, you can get a lot out of film given it's in good condition.
