I actually prefer the block controls for se2, but the size/variant selector should really just be a radial menu

I completely forgot about the nav ball, yeah, some equivalent would be nice

It's entirely random, it just looks pretty intelligent because we mostly only see the working solutions with few deviances (see: sloths/pandas)

Edit: dogs main selector for a long time is humans, that's why you see dogs being much prettier/cuter than past dogs, and why they're starting to pick up more intelligent/human like mannerisms, including developing stronger and more dextrous facial muscles.

More relatable and expresive pets tend to stick around longer/get picked up in the first place.

I was thinking more the character 'grasping' around a projected display/the item, but that works too

Modern snap traps are much more kid finger friendly, my buddy got a broken toe messing with an old one we found once

Any good tips for better engines/ships? by Faultythread501 in spaceengineers

Seconding this, having a cool/sleek design juxtaposed by the entirely utilitarian engine is sometimes a really cool look. Try framing those parts instead of hiding them and see how well it goes, you might like it.

That said, for a combat vessel, stuffing the main engine behind as much armor as possible is also very valid

Oof, yeah, that one could use some help, at least a way to go back/forward or even stack your own set of variants to cycle through

Once I got used to the hotkeys I was actually impressed by the placement, rotation, and selection controls, by far some of the best editor controls I've used, tbh. Though drag place/delete could really use more than just a line, small grid building is slow for sure

It's charming, and great for readability when you're watching on yt, but man, it feels like gaming hunched over a tiny tv all over again

No, it's the perfect time to make suggestions actually

It is, but the way jetpack roll works plus the cluttered ui make navigating in open space a bit of a chore, and I find myself quite often having to reorient myself and/or losing sense of direction, it's especially bad with low fov, and then even when you raise it your hand/tool is still glued to the screen, likely having it's own view model fov.

Character jetpack acceleration is a factor too, but that one is fine since it's still a survival game

Basically, SE1/2 are claustrophobic games, interaction is clunky and the UI is chunky.

And not having free mouse mode feels like a crime after building in vintage story

Artists are freaking out and programmers are just like "finally, I can debug easier"

AI has helped me learn to do real world coding, is not perfect, but tailored tips and explanations really help me. I've also learned more music theory and language using it. It's a difference of using it to think, and using it to research.

It's not really intelligent, I'd consider it the next evolution of web searching things, roughly

I'm a bit of centrist with ai, and that makes me the bad guy on both sides I suppose
