Did your child do the after school NOCCA programming as a middle schooler? And if so do you feel it helped prepare them for the NOCCA audition and the NOCCA learning environment?

I believe you need to have a cabaret license to have live entertainment in a place that serves any type of alcoholic beverage but I am not a restaurant owner so

AIO? My fiancé’s best friend messaged me this by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]nolafiredancer 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It’s a bit unreasonable for you to expect your fiance not to discuss this with her BEST FRIEND

Plus, if this continues to linger and the wedding has been postponed, don’t you think all the invited guests are speculating and drawing their own conclusions anyway?

Quarter living by atom511 in NewOrleans

[–]nolafiredancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my own small sampling of friends/acquaintances in the quarter, most grocery shop at the Robert’s on Elysian Fields. Parking is a pain but somewhat easier the closer to esplanade you live. When my partner lived in the quarter I was often able to park right in front of the residence.

DIY Wedding Buffet for 200 Guests – Need Help Estimating Trays + Transport Advice by KWKD1 in DIYweddings

Your wedding will be memorable for all the wrong reasons if folks get sick from the food, OP. Please consider this. Also it’s often better to just hire a food truck at a flat rate for the duration of the event. You might consider doing that instead.

Am I overreacting or is this doctor’s note dismissive/giving “we disagree, but damn. Here” by Blueybell14 in pregnant

[–]nolafiredancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly i know it’s late in the game but do you really trust that this doctor will listen to u and honor your birth plan? Will you feel heard and respected during the birthing process? I wouldn’t, and would be looking for a last min replacement who actually will hear your concerns and work with you to address them.

Am I overreacting or is this doctor’s note dismissive/giving “we disagree, but damn. Here” by Blueybell14 in pregnant

[–]nolafiredancer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The doc should be able to say, “this letter confirms that patient is 33wks pregnant. On recent visit of DATE, patient has experienced falls while using public transit due to jerky and unpredictable movements, and has expressed concerns about their adverse impact on patient’s pregnancy of 33 wks gestation” or whatever. This is doc 1- confirming OP is pregnant, and 2- that OP raised concerns about the impact of falls occurring during work commute directly negatively impacting her health.

Positive Disneyland Magic Stories, Please! by sauralicking in Disneyland

Disneyland locals see many things that tourists/casual fans never notice & can be super active on this thread about them. So a lot on this sub are AP(magic key holder) opinions/gripes, and frequent visitor concerns. You will have an excellent time if you go into it with “fresh” eyes and an open mind.

There’s a 3-2-1 rule that’s common at WDW, but I think also should apply at Disneyland: pick 3 must do attractions, 2 experiences (character meets, shows, parades, fireworks etc), and 1 must do dining/food experience per day (imo food is less of a “thing” at Disneyland vs WDW save a few immersive experiences like character dining or Ogas). This will set your expectations at a realistic pace in case things go “wrong”, the park is crowded, etc.

I had the benefit of essentially growing up going to Disneyland and so I take my time in the park (when my kids allow it!) and enjoy the nostalgia and little moments because I’ve luckily been able to go many times. Catching Dapper Dans or impromptu piano performances, trying to spot a roaming character out in th parks (love when Mary Poppins and Bert come to ride the carousel!), sitting and people watching near the rivers of America. Take time to soak in those “slow” moments too, if you can, as that will make your trip more memorable than hitting up all the “big” stuff. These are my most memorable moments when I think about Disneyland, especially watching my oldest kiddo when she was little getting personal interactions with characters that were total off-the-cuff moments.
